Shes just had some more chicken and weve been for another trot arond the garden and wee and now shes back in her crate..the door is open (Ive used a large sized wire crate this time, do to anothe bitch getting at pups last litter)and she can mosey about my room which has towels all over the carpet, curtins are closed and a lamp is on and I just come and go and leave her be is that the best thing to do? Shes quite happy and relaxed no panting or digging atm..
  6. I have a maiden bitch who began first stage about 1am last night..she goes through periods of restlessness, digging, panting etc..on and off...then goes into relaxed mode and chills out in her whelping crate and sleeps... Ive never had a bitch go this long in first stage, can anyone ease my nervousness...lol she has taken a bit opf chicken from my hand, has no discharge, no straining, is calm and relaxed...its just very long! lol im not worried, its just Ive never had one go this long on and off before!!
  7. started first stage here about 1 am...still waiting..shes the longest first stager Ive had, is now currently sleeping in her whelp crate..i mean "what tha??" Never had this before...
  8. possible my turn tonight..shes quite a bit more restless and panty..will sit up with her for while and watch..
  9. The same thing happened with my bitch (only she had two pups) it took about 48 hours for her toaccept the pups were hers. In the meantime I dutifully popped them on her nipples and sat with them through feeding patting and comforting her, and put them in a warm (heat padded) box near where she could see them but not hurt them. She soon came round and was a fabulous mum.
  10. Lottie is here now I picked her up just now. Shes seemed to have dropped and has milk. Shes big enough without being hugly stretched. Im still guessing 4-5 pups. Wow look at that staffy!!
  11. Oh Lyndsey,, How sad, I came on here thinking oh puppies are due.. Im so sorry for your loss fingers crossed for your other girl!
  12. Yes Ive given discounts to people who have previously bought a pup off me. I would also consider all things when it comes to famlies for pups as well.
  13. oh My!! I would NOT be pleased if my child even LOOKED at an animal the wrong way!! Good Dog!
  14. well Monty is back home and clearly peeved at D for putting him through that! :D I believe the cupboards and pantry have child locks on now!!! LOL What a naughty boy!! (I reckon it was this litter that had a massive naughty streat as the bitch I keep in touch with as well is soooo naughty too!) Luckily his other Cairn Chloe is an angel
  15. Agreed on talking to your breeder if you decide to import from Italy, make sure you get somthing decent!
  16. So I get a call from a past and present puppy buyer (who I talk to all the time) and he tells me both his 2 year old boy Monte and his little girl (1) Chloe (both I bred) are at the vet as he came home to find a 500g dark choc block missing from the kitchen table, only a bit of the PAPER wrap left... I told him VET NOW... He did, and got them in...Chloe was fine, she had eaten none of the chocolate (I think the vet made them vomit?) Monte on the other hand is a Great white Shark..the vet found: the chocolate with foil, 2 x blood pads from meat trays, eagg shells, chicken necks (well great!) and a kentucky licence plate OMG This Cairn thinks hes a Labrador!!! (sorry) Meanwhile on the phone to me poor D was cleaning out his cupboards of anything not 'Montyproof' for when he comes home, lookslike he cant be trusted near rubbish or....anything!!!
  17. wow a Neo would cost quite big bucks to get from Italy! (dont forget quarrentine as well) Youd be much better off importing from Australia, ie wont cost the earth in freight and little or no quarrentine? (idea of price, inc quarrentine for a SMALL dog between $5000 -$7000)
  18. I pick up my madam on Monday from where she lives. They will miss her lots Im sure. Im getting excited now, i love whelping puppies, I love seeing what you end up with!! (fingers crossed for a special boy ) 100% set up and ready, just need to pull it all out off the dog cupboard. Gave our bedroom (whelproom) a massive springclean today so I wouldnt have to disturb mumma dog later. Im pretty sure shes still eating, they would have run me in a panic otherwise as she is a huge glutton! i just bought some cat food, sardines and other special nom nom stuff for fussy bitches to have in the cupboard! lol I love FaceBook and Msn when I am whelping, keeps me busy and stop watching the bitch! lol! Not long to go Lyndsy, do you think she will go early or bang on time? Love the Whippet photo! My! My! there are a few in that tum! cant wait, cant wait cant wait!!!!
