You can fit a chair in to sit on, its a tight fit but you can ;) Xolo, people cannot reach the dogs to pat unless you lift them up to them (unless they are a big breed of course!) I take my fold down wire crates and leave my dogs in there and take them out when people want to pat them. That way they can be seen but are safe and feel safe. I cover them when I go a grab some food, but mostly they are uncovered. They have water and nice comfy vet bed to sleep on. The car park is a hike so a trolley is recommended, you can fold up and I hook them with bungies to the fence so they cant fall. I was upstairs last time so needed the trolley to roll my dogs to the ring too. I recommend taking food, food is ok there, but pretty spendy as usual with Royal shows The dutch pancakes are good though, lol! The exit is different fron the entry and a round about way and longer to the carpark....everyone lines up waiting half an hour before and its a slow procession to the car park. Car parking is $20 per car AND $20 for a trailer, so $40 all up for both...if you get there very early with a trailer they will park you at the very, very, back corner and work up from there, so its better to be later with a trailer!! (I had to drag a trolley and a crate, plus a toddler in a pram and a 6 year old over grass and stones...OMG!! Cars that are early get parked at the front.... ummmthey dont take tickets at dog door, you just file in..stragnly people will try to run you down and give you black and blu ankels with drolleys to get in fast...?? Toileting is on concrete... Food venues are almost exactly out the front of the dog pavillion. hope this helps

Oh yep, the LOOK! LOL!!! Makes you feel soooo bad! -
Register them with a explanation. Fine is usually a slap on the wrist first time. $300 next time. Thanks for that ..information i was not aware of regarding fine ..got slapped on wrist once as I was less than a week out in my breeding schedule..two litters in 18mths i nearly had this happen with my young bitch, (sneaky and houdini boy) but watched her closely and had her ultrasounded with full intention of aborting litter if one had occoured. She wasnt pregnant thank goodness, but I wasnt aware that your could get a slap on the wrist, she is a healthy 3 year old bitch? I have no intention of breeding her again for another year + (have two other litters planned with other girls ) i guess it just calls for good managment and an eagle eye ;) At least she dosnt have silent seasons like her mum! lolol sorry OT

Temperament In Historically Independent Breeds
Missymoo replied to SkySoaringMagpie's topic in Breeders Community
My first questian to the would be buyer is "Have you had a Terrier before" not just any breed, but i will mostly only sell to those who have had a terrier and are 100% aware of the traits and those who really can prove they have done thier homework and the breed is for them. I have told many a person who has rung that a cairn is not for them, infact to steer away from the Terriers entirely as they are not what they are after or would fit into thier lifestyle. Thats personally how I do it. -
Yup JetPets are very helpful ! Good luck with everything!

But if the establishment they've been sent to inspect meets the legislative guidelines, then they can't do anything. And the legislative guidelines for keeping companion animals is a lot different to how you, I and most other DOL'ers keep animals. They can't take action based on their opinion, they can only take action if the establishment doesn't provide basic needs for the animals according to the legislation, and their basic needs are food, water, shelter and space to turn around. If they have the relevant permits and are a registered business, there's nothing they can do. If they are shut down based on someones opinion, they can appeal and if they are found to be operating within the legislation they can just re-open and keep trading. The legislation needs to be changed and what constitutes a puppy farm needs to be defined because as it stands now, there is no definition of a puppy farm. agreed. They have shelter and food and water, what will the RSPCA do, um, try nothing...I see the billboards and signs of the poor puppy mill pups and think to myself, well what have YOU done to make this better RSPCA?? Oh make more signs and billboared. Sigh.

Puppy Cairn was my little Sassy girl! Shes had limited showing and doing very well! She also got reserve bitch Ch today from a nice lineup of older bitches!! -
Mine are usually whelped in the living room (most litters to date have been in the wee hours!) in a portable canvas pen (the ones that fold) that is large enough for me to be in there too, lots of towels and my small plastic tub with everything I may need pluss more towels. Also a hot water bottle and another tub to put pups when bitch is pushing again. Dirty/wet towels are tossed outside and replaced, and bitch is left unless I am needed. When Bitch is resting/or feeding i sit just outside watching tv or on DOL! lol When whelping is finished pups are transfered to whe;lping box inside our bedroom with a heat lamp/ and or heat pad (weather pending) I have a playpen around the se3t up so mum can get out and rest by herself outside the box, food and water are there too. Hubby moves to sleep on the couch for these weeks as he says the pups 'stop him from sleeping!!" Awwww...

Yes I was a little surprised when this turned up as well, I already had a typed contract signed by me and other party so i just photoy copied and added to the paper work. Its basicaly the agreement between you and other person on paper, i guess it is good a third party hold a copy so all are aware all parties have signed and read paperwork and it cant get 'lost'
