  1. last night Bondi woke me up and I noticed that there was a big pink bulb thing on her bum! It was like her insides or something.. sort of looked like it was swollen. Really worried me. It had gone back in by the morning. Do you think its caused by constipation? :D
  2. I would be interested depending on the costs etc. Would be bringing Barkly for help with his aggression (its not really THAT bad.. not too sure if I should call it aggression.. not too sure what to call it! lol) Bondi has overcome most of her problems so I don't think I'll bring her
  3. Bondi LOVES it! She could actually eat it! and didnt spit one biscuit out or leave bikkies all over the floor for once! I couldn't believe it! I'll be sticking with RC/BARF combo I think
  4. I just recieved my free sample of RC and I'm very impressed  even though Bondi hasn't tried it yet. It came with 10 free samples! and a royal canin dog bowl and RC vouchers!
  5. Aww so sorry to hear that ;) to you and lulu the lil flirt.
  6. yep, shes welcome here too ;) How is she now?
  7. escalators (had to experience them at the airport with a fearful dog, not pleasent! i ended up carrying her down it!) dogs, dogs and more dogs! (the most important one IMO) cars fireworks and storms parties sprinklers and hoses and the beach and water and the bath big plastic objects (bondi is scared when people are carrying agility obstacles) skate boards, bikes, scooters (go to the skate park) computer dial up noises people playing tennis etc. leads, being tethered , being restrained, having ears cleaned, having eyes cleaned, having each part of body handled, having mouth checked, being picked up.
  8. Thanks for the replies everyone Apparently Bondi has cravings for biscuits my sister fed the dogs tonight and Bondi got into the biscuit container and was eating them (which she never usually does!) and everytime my sister walked back into the room Bondi would turn her head away as to say "Im not eating them" Im emailing for a sample now :D
  9. Actually eat! She has trouble eating normal biscuits because of the shape of her mouth... there just ends up being a big mess everywhere. Does anyone know what RC is like? and what the pricings are? I think Im going to give this a try
  10. I think different breeds/dogs can all be trained... just need to find a way of training them that suits them. Perservere sorta off topic, some people see boxers as hypo/skittish (well bondi kinda is... ) but I have heard and come to the conclusion that it is because of where there eyes are positioned on there heads lol . Everyone is always commenting on how bondi is always looking around for things, but it is only more noticable because she actually has to turn her head to see them (unlike a collie for exaple, whose eyes are more on the sides) LOL sorry for the hijack, it just popped into my head
  11. Barklys snapped a plastic buckle collar, manages to slip his halti occasionally (its tight? i think he must loosen it somehow? ) so I much prefer gentel leaders to haltis (coz if dog gets out of head collar bit, there is still collar) Nylon leads CUT skin (ouch!) best nylon (I think?) lead I know is Ruddocks brand, easy on the skin
  12. Thanks Herr Rottie. So, is the E-collar a form of negative reinforcement? LOL sorry for all the questions Once I start I can't stop Actually it can be negative reinforcment and postive punishment, can it not?
  13. I didn't say I was against them Sidoney Just didn't know anything about them Thanks Sidoney and Erny
  14. And what are they used for? To stop barking? or for situations like this??
  15. Oh how scary! I would have had a heart attack if Bondi did that Did she get lots of praise for comming back? what a good girl. By the way... what is an e-collar?
  16. It is going great WS :D I premake mine, put it in a big container and it will last about 2 weeks. I rotate veges everytime I make it :D This week I used: mince, a tiny bit of oats (dont like putting these in but I evolved her barf diet from Satin balls which fattened her up ), eggs, mollasses, cottage cheese, beans, carrot, broccoli, capsicum (lol i think thats what its called) , gelatine. And every couple of nights she will just get chicken necks from dinner.
  17. Oh, thanks Erny. :D LOL Bondi does that anyway if the food is comming from someone/somewhere strange, she won't to eat from someone/somewhere new Barkly on the other hand... :D
  18. I taught Bondi a perfect fod refusal by: dropping some food on the floor, and as she went to get it I covered it with my foot and tightened the lead and said "leave it" then I took my foot off the food (while she was still concentrated on me) and walked away. Then got her to sit and look at me, and then I gave her the release/ok command and let her eat the food. Don't know if that made sense, but it has left Bondi with a perfect food refusal (and toy) from when she was only a little pup, I could leave food on the floor all day and leave the room and it would still be there when I got back ;) This type of food refusal only works if you are there to tell the dog to leave it though. ;)
  19. Just got back from training ;) Bondi was the best she has been in along time. She was enthusiastic, up until the last 10 minutes when it started raining Very happy with how she was tonight, the playing with her while waiting and hyping her up worked On the downside, we are both covered in mozzie bites!
  20. Ok, I've decided that if she isn't enthusiatic tommorrow night (I'll will put your suggestions into practice) I'll take Barkly for awhile (either a month, one week barks/1 week bondi, or longer) and just take Bondi to dog parks more to socialize. When our other car is fixed, I can take both of them, and take Bondi for a run and play before training, then just train Barkly. (he needs it!) LOL my previous post looks very dramatic with the underlining
  21. Yeah I reward for every correct behaviour, I think I should reward randomly too, then the rewards will mean more? She CAN do it all under distractions, but sometimes she Wont because she is bored.
  22. Nope, usually we are just repeating things (lower classes are the ones that teach new things, higher class just revises mostly) I try to ;) Maybe not every single sit (because its very repetitive) and maybe this is why. I'll try and make an even bigger fool of myself on every sit she does now Yep, sounds good. works when I do it at home.. I just don't want to annoy other people and their dogs by doing it I guess if it is bothering them, they can say something.. if they don't, they can put up with it.
  23. yeh, its pretty laid back, I think i'd be able to take breaks. Im thinkin it has undone some of her training aswell, she is very inconsistant now... somedays she is 100% some days she is away with the fairies
  24. It's the same thing all the time in advance classes too but we are going to start practising movement changes from a distance soon (like drop to stand, although Bondi already does this so It'll probably still bore her lol)
