  1. Not good results from Bondi's xrays today They showed her spondylosis has spread to the majority or her spine at a rapid rate It is even in her neck now. I'm not sure how much longer I will have my baby The vet has never seen a spine as bad as hers. All we can do is keep her comfortable, she is on painkillers, muscle relaxants and anti-inflamatories. She is also getting bowen therapy and accupuncture. My poor girl- after all that her face is swollen from the anaesthetic and she had to have anti-heisthamine injection too. ETA: Great news about Louis CC.
  2. Hope both xrays show nothing serious- the wait is the worst past, tomorrow is going to be a long day I think!
  3. Thanks guys, think I'm going to have to give puppy agility a miss tonight again did I miss anything last week?
  4. Bondi is off to have xrays in the morning Vet wants to check she has nothing bad growing in there or there is no slipped discs or anything. She has gone downhill again and is very sore, and when she gets up she stumbles around trying to get her footing with her back legs, and does circles etc because she is sore and she yelps and sometimes wets herself. Hate leaving her at the vets though, I will be worrying all day and always worry when a Boxer has to go under anaesthesia.. Yes, but I think Bondi's was pain related.
  5. Tracy fixed Bondi's incontinence too Bondi is back to bowen on thursday. Bondi had accupuncuture with Deb tonight, as Bondi had been going down hill again over the weekend So hopefully she will be feeling good again soon. Was a particularly painful session for Bon 20 needles (Deb usually only uses 12), Bondi put up with the needling ok- but not the "adjustments" when Deb "adjusted" Bondi's neck Hurt alot! Bedazzled, I think you were there just before me?
  6. Sorry guys I'll have to pass- trying to save $ at the moment to go traveling next year, and all the recent vet/bowen/accupuncture bills havn't helped
  7. hmm ok, I guess I will come down and see then
  8. Anyone know if tonights agility trial will still be on in the rain? Do they cancell agility trials if it is raining?
  9. Bondi is back from her accupuncture with Deb- she was so good Didn't mind the needles, even though there were some very painful spots- she was being stoic Can already see some improvement and she loved Deb (and Deb liked her She couldn't believe Bon was nearly 9- thought she looked 2 or 3! :D )
  10. Thanks Sparky- where can you get EsterC? I might give it a go with Bondi. Bondi is ALOT better today! I went back to work for 4hours this morning, first time at work since she has been like this- before I left I got her up and out to the toilet (she was abit wobbly on her feet at first, but no yelping)I gave her a prolet and tramel then left her on her mat in the spare room (her fave spot to lay) I have had to change her bed- as her other one was one of the city farmer ones, which was too spongy for her to get up off- so at the moment she just has a big mink blanket folded up and a doona to lay on. I came home and she had moved to laying by the front door- and there were no wees (she had lost control of her bladder during painful episodes). She got up relatively easily to greet me too- with stump wags and all! BIG improvement. Took her out to toilet again, and then she followed me around for abit (which she hasn't been able to do since she has been sore). She is now laying on her mat next to me- but she even looked up at my bed as if she was going to try and jump up (I told her to lay on her mat instead, didn't want her hurting herself, but the fact that she was thinking about trying to come up means she must be feeling abit better!) ETA: Hope Louis is on the mend soon- hasn't been a good week for our dogs!
  11. No agility for me and Books tonight staying home playing nurse to Bondi I think- unless she is miraculously better after this afternoons massage. although I am supposed to be stewarding this saturdays agility trial (I have never stewarded before, but wanna help my club out ) So hopefully Bon will be ok by saturday night.
  12. After a horrible day, which it seemed Bondi had gone down hill- she didn't move allllll day, was panting, crying, not really drinking and could not get up to go outside (the one time I tried to help her up she yelped and was in alot of pain and very distressed so I stopped) - and I was at a loss of what else I can do for her, havn't stopped crying all day- I am not ready to say goodbye to my little girl -I went outside for abit because I couldn't take seeing her pant in distress anymore, and I sent Dad in to see her. 2 seconds later Bondi came sauntering out (walking ok, not perfect but better than expected) and went straight for the garden and did THE biggest wee ever (poor girl must have been holding it in- it went for about 5 minutes!) and number 2's too Then went and said hello to our guests (we have people staying here at the moment) and then followed me back into our room, and she actually had a drink out of her bowl Then she laid back down on her bed, and I decided I would take Booker out the front for a walk around (poor Booker hasn't been getting much attention the last few days while I have been looking after Bon and I felt guilty) and about a minute after being outside with Booker, out comes Bon again! All on her own accord she had gotten up and walked outside (at quite a fast pace too! lol she must have been worried about Booker getting all the attention) . She did another wee, and then we went back inside. I am so glad she was able to get up and about eventually! Abit of hope after a horrible day. So fingers crossed after her bowen and accupuncture she will continue to improve.
  13. Yep you can take a dog to bowen for a "tune up", alot of show people get their dogs checked by Tracey before shows etc. and I will be taking Bondi regularly too now. She goes over the dog and knows where they are sore even if you don't I definately recommend it!
  14. You can also just try massaging the ear down, and massage along the crease. My boxer pups ears were going funny with teething, so I kept massaging, and every time i saw his ear go funny I've massage it and fold it along the crease, and now his ears have started to settle. 1st pic Bookers Wonky ear, 2nd pic how they have settled.
  15. I used Sashas Blend on Bondi, didn't make much of a difference, and shes not keen on the taste.
  16. Candice I have contacted Deb, seeing if I can get Bon an appointment after tuesday after Bondi has had her bowen follow up. Deb said it may be good to combine the two therapies Hope she can help. Once Bondi has recovered from this she will be having a regular bowen check up at least once a month to keep her "loose". And strictly no more running on floorboards! (Tracey thinks this is what has caused this)- a rule that will be implicated for Booker too as a precaution. No more jumping onto my bed (even though I brought Bondi a "pouffe" as a step up onto my bed- even that is still too high) so either Bondi gets used to sleeping on her bed on the floor or I have to pull my bed frame apart
  17. Bondi is a tiny bit better today, but still not steady on her back legs and in pain. She actually had something to eat today so thats good, and I managed to get her to go out to the toilet (very slow and steadily) I think her massage did some good, so she is going back for a follow up massage on tuesday. If bowen doesn't work I'm going to try accupuncture. I think Booker knows she isn't well, as (even though I'm keeping them seperate) he has been very quiet, and has just been sleeping in his open crate next to us all day (usually when I leave crate open for him he is in and out all day charging around the backyard) I have had to take work off to stay home and look after her can't leave her alone in this condition.
  18. Pupkus (i think thats how it is spelt)- with a nozzle for the sibes Blows all the dead hair right out
  19. Came home to find poor miss Bondi unable to stand, screaming in pain and wetting herself- think she has pinched a nerve in her back. Had her at vets 2 days ago for this- they put her on high dose of tramel and prolet tablets- but still not working Hate seeing her in pain. Hopefully a bowen session will be able to fix this (they usually fix all her other pinches nerves, but she has never been this bad ) Taking her down to vets in the morning for a pain killer injection if she is still bad- phoned emergency vet tonight and they told me to just double her tramel dose tonight and keep her still and warm.
  20. I leave Bondi inside for up to 8 hours- never had a problem. Just starting this with puppy (although some days he comes to work with me) - at the moment he is limited to large laundry and part of my bedroom and his open crate- so far so good. I come home from work at lunch to toilet the dogs if I am working 8+hours (with a puppy and an old girl I don't think it is fair to make them hold on- although Bondi will).
  21. No cue As I want my dogs to offer it freely without me having to "nag" them for it- they never know when they will get a reward just for staring at me :D
