  1. Both. Although sometimes I have a glass or two of the juice myself, depending on what I've put in . But definitely, the pulp goes to the dog. Thanks erny, I've been binning it and was just about to do that with tonights veges....
  2. Halucinations are common with humans as well. Particularly straight out of an operation. It wouldn't stop me from having myself operated on (if I ever needed to) or me having my dogs operated on. Some drugs are worse on some people/dogs as ArtyFarty said. It is nothing to worry about although some people are better at giving anaesthetics with lower reactions.
  3. zappedy zap the bench. K9 force used to sell zappy mats for benches......
  4. Thanks Corvus. This is a friend of mine from hervey bay, not a doler. She has put the dogs food and water up high so he doesn't have to bend down. I will send her the rest of this info now. BP eta my floor eats things as well
  5. I can't remember who said to stuff chicken frames with offal but it works Both dogs ate their offal and licked the bowl and grass. They did also finally finish their fish heads as well After 9 days on raw the dogs look fantastic, their fur is softer and we haven't had a loose poo at all (except after the off chicken mince . Poor buggers. I have learned to carefully sniff before you serve their food Bella did a wonderfull trick with her lamb yesterday. She scoffed it, threw it up , scoffed it, threw it up and then ate it slowly and it stayed there.... Feeding raw is more entertaining than television
  6. Thanks for your story goldens . I'm sorry you had to lose your old golden.
  7. I learned the whole thing on K9 Force distance package but I already had some history with training. Check with K9 Force as luke suggested.
  8. I accidentally fed my dogs about 50 gms of chicken mince which was off (noticed later as I was packing it away...) Both dogs did tiny vomit the next morning but that's all. I think chicken would be the worst. I have fed other meats that were a bit suss with no problems.
  9. A friend has a 6 year old who has recently developed degenerative disc disease (c4-5) and is in lots of pain. Is being treated with steroids. Anyone know what else she can do to make him more comfortable while he is recovering? Thanks in advance
  10. Be tough ruger. My two do the same. I used to have them used to it but then had really bad neighbours and couldn't leave one at home. I crate one if I leave the other at home.
  11. The dog stuff I think is called malasab ???. Wash them in that and leave on for 10 minutes. I take the dogs to the ocean (salt water) for a swim once a week and this keeps it well under control - and its fun Also try rinsing the dogs feet and belly after being in the garden. There are lost of recent threads on the subject. Try a search on contact allergy. Have fun
  12. Mr De bruno used to eat 10% as well (10% of currrent weight). No problems at all, he needed it or he would fade away. I nearly had to remortgage the house to pay for 6-8 cups of proplan puppy a day. I'm so glad we've switched to raw now.
  13. Can't help. My dogs love having their ears cleaned. I only clean the ears if they are dirty in the canal and I use water or baby wipes. I haven't had to clean them for months 'cause they usually clean each others ears . Dogs are gross
  14. Midol, that is a terrible name change. I now can't believe anything you say --------------------------------------------------- Bruno is still trying 12 hours after his dinner. He's enjoying the chewing at lease.
  15. I get whatever is the cheapest - salmon heads or sardines. When I buy "human fish" I ask for a couple of salmon heads and they're usually free. They have no problems with the bones. annieK annieK I just gave my gsps a salmon head to eat and neither of them could make any headway with it - most unusual . They weigh 500gms each. Are they just too big? Do you break them up? Can you teach them how to eat them? Bruno did his best but Bella gave up completely. Any ideas? ------ Forgot to add, Bruno's been on raw since saturday and his ribs are covering up slowly (he only needs .5ks on) and his poos are perfect. Bella is also looking well but I can't work out which is her poo at the moment . Job for tomorrow.... Just as well I used to be a nurse
  16. Thats a good difference for no vegies . I will check poos with veges.
  17. Thank you muchly LM. I will do a vege trial
  18. Thanks laeral. I will read those books. I found so much info on the forum and everyone does it differently. I think I'll try and add some vegies in one meal as you can serve veges (not fruit / grains) with RMB. Better order the book today...
  19. If they don't feed vegies, do they feed one meal a day? I'm trying to work out which is best for my dogs. Is there a book you would recommend? I started my two on raw yesterday and they love it . I will experiment with some veges I think.
  20. laeral I'm not sure about the feeding twice a day (still trying to figure that out as I'm starting raw this week). Both my dogs stopped growing at about 18 months so she might have just finished a growth spurt and not need as much food. Also my dogs eat less in summer as they run around less. In winter I can't keep the weight on them. I also read on another thread that dogs put on weight easily on raw. That's all I know, waiting for more information.
  21. All right, you raw feeders finally have me convinced (I don't take long ). I have been researching all day.... I cannot find any kibble which will keep the weight on my very active GSPs. They are 26-27 kgs now but slip back to 25 every 5 or 6 weeks. I did add chicken frames to their kibble for a few months and they put on weight with that. Now I see how easy raw feeding is, I will switch over. Can I do the alternating days meals or will they need twice a day? Thank you BP --- eta put sentences in correct order.
  22. I don't know why you are now laughing JME. I'm glad you are both fine. I remember reading oleander was so toxic that the fumes from it burning were also lethal. Excellent news . I just read that the story about burning oleander is an urban myth and that oleander is more feared than other plants that are toxic. Must find the link again .
