Yea! Passed my 'breeders exam' so now, how long does it usually take to have your prefix registered? I am a tad anxious as my beautiful bitch is already in whelp. I know I am in the show dog forum, but as I haven't got my kennel name yet I am not eligible to post in the breeders forum. I am in Victoria, if that makes any difference.

After reading the results, can I once again show my ignorance, and ask what does the letter A mean under the number? Some have a placing I.e. 1st and some have 'A'?

Give Lea a ring, A friend and me, go to her during the day now, and share a private lesson, Lea does a lot through the day at KCC Park.

I agree - I have taken dogs (especially puppies along to Lea at KCC park to help them socialize and provide them with abit of ring training. A great start for beginners. Does anyone know of any other show training/practice groups or classes during the day in the south/east area of Melbourne as I can't go at night any more.

So, Melb. Temp forecast is 38, yet all temps this side of city (i.e. Scorsby, Moe, Wonthaggi etc) are below that according to channel 2. So (as I am new to this) is it the 'local' temp. Or the Melbourne temp, we go by? Is it ever announced / posted officially on the website?

The only mistake I have made so far is the first time I used the template from Dogsvictoria I didn't cut it down around the edges, I received a note telling me to do this on the back of my envelope. It is a pity that there isn't a note on D.Vic explaining this. Also I have found there are many little quirky things that we are expected to know, and no one comes forth explaining these. If it wasn't for Lea Cogley and her 'Thursday night ' shows class I would have given up soon after I started with frustration. It's also a pity I stumbled across her class by mistake, I am sure there are plenty of people out there would gain a lot of confidence from attended a few of those classes before they first go to a show! Perhaps even a induction, on 1. Filling out an entry. 2. Responsibilities on show etc would/ should be held before you are allowed to go to a show?

I haven't been there, but I did start on. Thursday night at KCC Park 7.30 with Lea Cogley. I was a complete novice and these seasons I found very helpful for e show ring - they tell/ teach you everything you need and results depend on how much time and effort you put in at home. This is also good or socializing our dog which is so important.

Great info thank you - surely there are whippets tho, can't believe there aren't any when the numbers are usually good!
