and you get to meet Ness on the 8th . Hope Ptolomy and bedazzledx2 haven't told too many stories about me.
-
about UD and you still cry over a 169 weeks later :D :p ;) :p .

At least we get qualification sashes just for passing over here. After having a couple of second places and getting nothing much for them you get a bit annoyed. I remember when Ness started and we would come home with trophies/sashes/prizes and entries were cheaper. Now entries are expensive and your lucky if you get something for coming first. I treasure my States qualifying sash from WA - its the only momento I had from any of my CDX passes over there.

Ptolomy was teasing me about not doing a lead out at our very first trial back in April - anybody who has watched any of my Ness agility rounds will know Ness doesn't have a lead out so there was some sort of bet going as to whether I would get one on Kenz or be brave enough to do one at a trial .

bedazzledx2 I think she wanted her sisters lamb shank. I bought her a tendon and it sat uneaten in her crate most of the day silly girl. But she did get a game of tug and they both helped me eat Macca's for tea on the way home . And guess what Ptolomy I have a dog who can hold a three bar lead out at a trial - yee har and I have video to prove it .

Congratulations leopuppy on both Kinta's performance in Open and Leo's performance in UD .

Well my turn for a brag (had to wait until today to be able to brag mind you) - Kenz was entered in her first novice agility trial yesterday. We have been playing around with doing novice jumping and open jumping but finally took the plunge to enter her in agility as well. Yesterday she was entered in novice jumping and agility and came away with second place (and two quallies) in both morning novice jumping and afternoon novice agility. She very nearly had her novice jumping title but pulled a single bar in the afternoon run. She was a good little girl was absolutely flying and gave me absolutely everything. Fingers crossed that the remaining novice passes aren't to far around the corner. And here is a link to the video for anybody who wants to watch: Not bad for a 400 pocket rocket. Go Kenz .

Ptolomy just tell the Occasionally Clever one that if he runs straight rather than via the Cape of Good Hope he can have an entire bag of twisties . Failing that just blame his BC bits .

Thanks tlc (and thanks Pandii for the original offer too).

Usually what happens is they remove the contaminants from where the houses are and place them in common area - like a roadway and then the local council is responsible for the upkeep of the repository. One of the SA examples actually have the containment cell where the remaining contaminated soil is stored located underneath a recreation park and again council are responsible for ensuring the integrity of the cell. My thesis is looking at the law and policy to make sure this happens and what means of enforcement is available against whom and by who if something should happen in the future.

Pandii has also kindly offered to go and take photos for me but thanks tlc. You can be nosey - my PhD is looking at contaminated sites law and policy. The Mill is a site that has been remediated prior to redevelopment. It was suggested as a site by the Victorian EPA because apparently they have left some of the contamination on site. I am looking at the legal measures put in place in such instances to ensure that the remaining contamination is appropriately looked after in the future. So its one of my ten case study sites - 2 in each of SA, Qld, NSW, Vic and WA . Not very exciting LOL.

Yep have looked there - hmmm residents underwater does that mean there are people living there now . Any idea if they are still building or does it look finished.

Kenz was measured at 16 months ready for agility . Never mind the fact I didn't then decide to trial her until she was 2.
-
Hey guys - a friend suggested it might be worth posting something in this thread. I am trying to chase up some information for my PhD regarding the Mill redevelopment. Wondering if anybody might be able to help me.
-
Ring up and attend a normal trial and they will officially measure. Just have to make sure there is somebody available to measure. Agility Dog Club have a trial on Saturday but thats probably to shorter notice unless somebody else is being measured.
-
Pretty sure there aren't any mock trials coming up Dova.

Awesome dogs certainly do do strange things at a Royal - which is why my number 1 awesome dog isn't entered this year. Oh so close yet so far was enough to do my head in . Ah well will go along and cheer another couple of even more awesome dogs .

I would say a nice moderate drive small BC would be suitable too. Although I am a little biased but I know a number around who are very biddable and would make a great dog for a child handler. My first BC would fit into that category. A steady dog who has been relatively easy to train and who isn't large as far as BCs go.

TerraNik - its not the forging its the can't keep four feet on the ground while we are trying to heel - eeeek.
-
Hey sas - your welcome to borrow a little of a certain black and white's enthusiasm - urgh I wish she would give a little bit to her older sister cos she could sure use a dash more and Kenz a little less at the moment. Maybe that is what she has been trying to tell Ness all day Good luck for the trial on the weekend huski - sure Daisy will be brilliant.
-
Vickie I watched the one of Trim underneath the scramble and couldn't stop laughing LOL.
-
So sorry to read about Lily ValleyCBR - hugs .
-
Tough one sas - I would only change what I was doing if what I was changing to was likely to provide the results I wanted eventually. I would not use an upcoming trial as a reason for either sticking with what I was doing or changing something. If I thought it was worth changing and it wasn't resolved by the trial then there is always another trial.
-
sas welcome to the things always break down in the couple of days prior to a trial. Depending on how badly the dog wants to mess with yout it can be any time after you have posted the entry but right up until 48 hours prior to the trial (and thats only because I don't train 24 hours prior to a trial for fear I'll break something else :D ). Relax and enjoy and there is always the next one. The first trial is always the hardest - after that its a downhill run ;) .
-
speaking of puppies - there is a certain little black and white 7 week old fluff ball obedience and agility prospect which is out of a certain black and white feral midget's sister - sooooo tempting :p and might end up little just like Kenz .
