  1. Oh, bugger, I called the rescue and they already have a house visit booked - major bummer as I have already had a couple of great husky people very keen within minutes of me posting it
  2. Interest is gathering - expect some calls when open
  3. Thanks, I have posted these details, if you get a pic send to me and I will include - we have 200 members on our Perth page so with yesterdays awareness day I would be very surprised if he isn't homed very soon. There is an astonishing amount of Husky and Mal BYBs in Perth it is very very sad. They are wonderful dogs but need an owner that really has done full research and able to care for them. Most people would agree that they are stunning breeds to look at and unfortunately this is their downfall - they need a very dedicated owner :(
  4. LOL! If you want to message me the details on the Husky I will post it on our group :)
  5. Oh, he was a happy tired boy
  6. Thanks TT, Ronin always has the doggi-cino with the little cake  It is our little vice amidst his prey model raw diet :D And yeah, the ladies are great and Ronin is always totally spoilt
  7. Thanks Hazy, It is a great place and very kind of them to get behind us to support for the day :) Ronin spent the morning walking around meeting and greeting everyone, and was such a star and so well behaved. When we got home he was pooped. In fact I had to join him for a nanna nap
  8. I missed the post unfortunately - I would have been interested, maybe Steve can PM me or repost if possible. This person has a dog that has been on doggy prozac for a short while but she wants to try something else for boosting serotonin levels for more long term use. The only thing I know of is tryptophan + B and the commercial preparations like Vetalogical Calm etc will be very expensive for a 4 year old husky for the next 8-10 years
  9. Hi all, Sorry for the late notice. But today a group I am involved with are joining withe the WA Husky rescue to have a awareness and fun raising day at Furbaby Cafe It goes from 9am to 2 pm. I will be bringing Ronin down at around 9:30
  10. Great comments and ideas everyone - thanks very much
  11. Thanks RSA, I actually have two of those :)
  12. Hahhaha - I can promise you plenty of Ronin cuddles if you ever get over my way :D Thanks again for your kind words :) :) :)
  13. Thanks Piper I will be using a stake out :)
  14. Great thanks :) Hahaha I like your style :) At least the cold is not something I need to worry about with Ronin :) Thanks, that could work with a futon on top :)
  15. Thanks guys, these do look good, will have to check em out
  16. Many thanks Leah :) I'll add it to my list. the 24cm height plus my dogs boof-head may may be a problem under the vestibule similar to the one Jules suggested... but the more ideas the better
  17. Thanks for the suggestion :) I think the nature of the slant in the vestibule combined with the height of a raised bed may be problematic. But will defo keep in mind :) THanks :) The one below is looking the best I have found thus far http://www.ruffwear.com/Highlands-Bed?sc=2&category=17
  18. LOL, won't work for me when I have the family, plus Ronin will try and dig me out of my ridiculously expensive down sleeping bag for sure
  19. Hi all, I thought I would ask the brains trust here for some ideas for a good quality dog mat/bed for winter camping trips. Ronin is starting dryland mushing this winter and there are a number of camps. He will be sleeping in the sheltered vestibule of my tent, it will be sheltered from the rain, but think it is wise to have a water resistant base. I will not have the room to bring his Kuranda bed, but he likes his Snooza futon and Mutt Mats mats inside, or just the ground to sleep on when inside. Think something with just a bit more padding than the two previous mentioned mats, but space will be a premium so I don't want and super thick mattress. I don't mind spending the $ on something that is quality and practical as it will see a lot of use. Thanks in advance... :) For this that don't know, Ronin is a Siberian Husky of around 27kg :-) so 24x36" - 60 x 90cm beds will be okay
  20. ... I recall hearing a name often here about someone who mixes up herbs for a dogs specific needs. I want to give it to a friend :) Any ideas?
  21. The thought of Ronin in a handbag has me smiling through my tears, this morning. Thanks DDD - I am pleased that you got a smile during this difficult time
  22. Absolutely! All the very best, and well dressed young puppy-lads do this. Yep, Paris Hilton's handbag dog has nothing on Ronin
  23. Thanks VM, He does like to match his shoes with his face make-up :D
