  1. Please please avoid this. The others have expressed the reasons with truth. Puppy and you deserve better
  2. My experience is this: nearly 15 years ago, my oldest male Vizsla had his 'last vaccination'. All I can say is he was so poorly afterwards. Site of the needles was swollen & he was off colour for quite sometime. From that time onwards he paces. Walks around, around around in a kinda aimless manner. Vet I spoke to then suggested he had had a reaction to the vaccination. No, we did not blood tests at that time. That vet THEN suggested to never vaccinate again. He explained the concept of doing blood serum levels to determine if the dog had protection against different diseases. I did a whole heap of research. I was beyond shocked to read what was happening to poor dogs given does of chemical poisons. Dogs have never been given poisons since. They have had a combination of conventional & holistic medicine. In a space of 15 years, they had fleas ONCE. They were healthy enough, as borne out by their 6 monthly check ups. For me I have been lucky to find more than one Vet totally receptive to what 'I' want for my dogs, aka my fur-kids. I noticed in the thread mention of the Russell Lea Clinic. Outstanding place. The protocols changed for vaccinations. Not all vets moved with the times. Since 3 year boosters are suggested & titre testing it's better for people with aging dogs to be aware of not overloading their systems. The durgs are poison even if they prevent illness. It's that fine line isn't. Just my experiences. I am happy with what I chose to do. The dogs were healthy and happy, :D
  3. Puppies can grow out of car sickness. Is the wee girl on medication? Could that be having an influence on her being car sick? Might sound strange. I have to check the tyre pressure of the Ford. If the pressures are down, one Vizsla can be sick.
  4. I used this when the two old boy Vizslak had been treated for fleas. Within 2 days, their scratching stopped. They had that lovely puppy smell again ( according to my nose in any case.) :)
  5. Going to be bold and say 99% of this is all the TLC Boof is getting from you. Joinging with the others in sedning TLC & HUGS
  6. I would expect the Vet will explain to you all the ins & outs. At a time like this, it is often the Parent who is suffering more. That is totally understandable given our duty towards our precious fur-kids. I nursed an old lab that lost an eye from a car incident. fact of the matter was he was without pain, & once the meds wore off, back to his old self. The Vet said the procedure was not as daunting for him as we humans felt. My suggestions would be heaps of TLC for YOU, cuddles for your precious old girl. Bear in mind the removal of that eye may actually make her feel more comfortable. Hve you use used Bach Remedial drops? They help us have less stress. I am sending hugs & love to you both. Take Care
  7. As a newbie, I would like to echo the same wishes as everyone. I wish all of you Good Luck too.
  8. First post and to say Thank you for the suggestion of Vicks Vaporub. Puppy is actually already home. But I had a missing link in making our lives easier. The Vicks will put an end to the chewing.
