  1. I feel like the OP is an accurate description of us. That is encouraging & helpful to know there is a chance of going to Obedience classes. I will make enquiries locally. Good Luck to you, CareyJ & thanks Tassie
  2. The most gentle of cyberhugs to Kibbah, cyberplates of chicken with skin on AND love to you,Kirislin. Thinking of you both
  3. Don't grieve too long for now I'm free I'm following the path God set for me I ran to Him when I heard His call I wagged my tail and left it all. I could not stay another day To bark, to love, to romp or play Games left unplayed must stay that way I found such peace it made my day. My parting has left you with a void So fill it with your remembered joy A friendship shared, your laugh, a kiss Oh, yes, these things I too shall miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow My life's been full, you've given so much Your time, your love and gentle touch. Perhaps my time seemed all to brief Don't lengthen it now with undue grief Lift up your heart and share with me God wanted me now, He set me free. Author unknown Thank you for having the courage to help sweet Bella make her final journey
  4. Just beautiful, beautiful. Thank you for sharing. I so love grays.
  5. Oops. That was a blonde moment. Though Susan Garrett hypnotised dogs.
  6. Thank you for being there to hold Tynka, and have her surrounded with love. So brave of you to step up for those last moments. Such a beautiful gal. I can imagine her running free at The Rianbow Bridge with Tara and Sam. My Sarah ( a Blenheim) might have said Hello too LOVE
  7. Wow! Never thought of a drop on that bare skin. Excellent. As a matter of interest, I wonder if a Rescue Remedy candy might work too? 99% sure I noticed one that did not have alcohol. Thanks
  8. Tad OT, friends had a Great Dane that did not 'do' rain. Never ever seen anything as hilarious as the human Daddy stood outside in the freezing cold of Bathurst holding an umbrella over the dog. the dog came to stay with me. Took 4 nights and he loved being outside in the rain. LOL
  9. Its raining at the moment.. Just dont want him to be sick.. If he doesnt poop before lunch time i might bring him to a vet.. Hope all is well He could get wet and not get sick. You would just dry him off & make him cosy. Sometimes, new puppies take a while to adjust. Hugs to you all & Welcome ETA: That might be the most welcome poop reported for a while
  10. It's a very appealing dog sat quietly in that photo. Fast forward 3 weeks, when same 'gentle sole' puppy has been left alone and is going thro' the crazies. I shuddered.
  11. Totally agree with that Clinic. My feelings are if 'our' fur-kid can take the additional remedies to at least try. (Not going to hijack the thread) Best wishes to the OP & her 'baby' Rocky
  12. No more than one. I always worry about the alcohol content. He's tiny isn't he? :)
  13. Thank you so much. That has just gone on the drawing board. I see heaps of potential here. I rarely leave the dogs alone for longer than 4 hours ever. ( Get the neighbour to visit if longer). He would not be crated at night & then during the day. There is a corner of the yard that will convert beaurifully.
  14. I know you are making a joke. But this is not true. You have the dog and are doing your best to help. Does not make you the worst foster carer ever. Change the mind set.... I am the best foster carer ever. Repeat until you believe it. Big undertaking to foster any dog and there you are trying. Thank you. Bonnie will thank you one day too
  15. My back yard is swamplands. Plus the back neighbour has horses, chaff, rodents and thus snakes. My SO has done a great lot of work to make the back yard 'secure'.... Is it Murphy's Law or what? Snakes we have had on the property all came from the front area. I'm a wee bit OTT at the moment with the new puppy. As he grows, I expect to settle down more.
  16. Raw chicken wings are suitable. Later, when puppy grows the occasional turkey wing will be well recieved too. ETA: appreciate the tip to serve the wings frozen. Will be ideal for making the meal 'longer'
  17. USA based friend regards green tripe as a type of combination of both. They have Smooth & Wire Haired Vizslak raised on RAW. I swear the dogs are like movie stars..... beautiful coats, skin, the lot. When I stayed with them I used be charged with preparing the green tripe. Man, did the dogs love me. :)
  18. My problem is I get snakes in the back yard. We have no way of making the yard snake proof. What alternative might work? At the most Herbie may be alone 3 hours, and certainly not daily.
  19. I wondered if any of you had read the below thread http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/254792-o-m-g-calendula-tea-rinse/page__p__6395912__hl__%2Bcalendula+%2Btea__fromsearch__1#entry6395912 The Calendua Tea may be helfpul too especially for 'hurting skin'. It's an option that might be of benefit long term.
  20. I can recall the horror of finding out that the vaccinations caused 'my' boy to have issues. Luckily I choose no guilt trip. I live happily with the choice of no more vaccinations plus have the guidance of a fabulous Vet. :)
  21. Start thinking this way (please). We have made a responsible choice by deciding to wait to pick a puppy that will be ideal for our family. and breathe and repeat. I have just had a wonderful experience with my new puppy ( different breed). But I am friends with the breeder, have contact with her, pet insurance to start off his early weeks. Best of all, I have a puppy that is in good health, well socialised. Cheys, you and your family deserve this too. When I was a mere 15 months old, a friend's Golden Retriever saved me from drowning in a river. This is the type of dog, well adjusted, that a family deserves. Your aim is to have such a dog/girl.
  22. What a top Vet Clinic.............. contributing to the costs to get Yoshi back home. Thanks for this loverly story. Made me smile :D ETA: Cheers for that info regarding micropchip & adding missing. Never knew that. Shall follow up for the baby.
