  1. When I was grooming I always emptied the bath after each family of dogs came ie if some one came with 2 dogs I would use the same washing water for them but because I have an autofill hydrobath they would always have clean rinsing water. At home I wash my 4 with the same washing water but always clean rinsing water.
  2. MSJ as TJ said youll know. When she no longer gets excited about going for walks.......is she still eating? If she is.....her not wanting to eat will let you know also. Lost our 1st dally to liver cancer..........showed no symptoms untill it was too late....hard decission to have to make but you will know just by looking at her when to the time comes. Enjoy her while she comfortable and happy

  11. Hi I think that vets have changed over the past few yrs, now everything seams to revolve around money. Yrs ago you use to go and ask advice and not get charged for it but now they want money out of you as you step in the door! Also good luck with your girl jenna I hope that she will be comfortable for a few yrs/mths yet!
  12. This has worked for me as a last resort! After trying the NO, ignoring the behaviour, rewarding the good behaviour, etc. What I did is (you have to be quick) is when the dog mouthed my hand I would push the bottom or top lip on to the teeth and push down not to hard, but untill the dog gave a little yelp, then reward pat, food reward etc. My theory on this is that is shows then how much it hurt. Teaches some bite inahibtion(sp?)
  13. Thank you so much again for your advice. I have email you both the photos. I think I will be stripping until the cows come home!

  17. Hi my mum has a rough coat JRT which is just a pet but I though I might like to show him in local open show. He is very hairy and has never been stripped 1st question How much hair to remove? 2nd question do I have to strip him right back? Has anyone got a photo to show what they should look like for shows? Would you use a mars comb on him? Thanks is advance!
  18. Just thought I would add that if his really matted around the back end you may be better off clipping that area, as if you pull on th matts it does hurt them and this could cause them to hate being brushed for ever!
