Yes, that's correct Caffy. Or anywhere else.

Ahhh, yes. Ecstasy. One of the most wondrous feelings in the world. And it is a feeling of two beings sharing pure harmony as if one, made all the more special because the two beings are two different species. Beautiful. Sorry. OT. But just needed to salivate at the memory you have jogged.

Finalists For The 3rd Annual Dog Owners Choice Awards
Erny replied to Steve's topic in General Dog Discussion
Congrats from me too. Being nominated alone is a big deal. Being a finalist is very indicative of the great work you guys do, and the respect that it has earnt. You're all 's, really .... regardless of who takes out the awards. -
I found a stray today. A Bully breed, btw. And so docile. He was wondering through an 'event' that Pro-K9 was attending - children and dogs everywhere. This dog was so good and paid no mind to any one or any dog. BUT, I was concerned about what might happen (roads etc) if he was left there so I used my ............................ 1.5 metre lead to catch him with and took him to the Vet's for scanning.

It is still available. To do this fairly, because AMS posted first, I'll give first dibs to her (on behalf of SP Rescue). But if you could let me know come Monday? If you need more time to be able to reach SP Rescue, please let me know soon. Charlieandoops, if AMS (read : SPRescue) don't take up the offer by close Monday, then it is yours. Picking up Friday is ok, although I may be needed to go to the City on Friday so might not be here when you come to pick up. I am sure we can make arrangements though and we can sort those out perhaps by telephone? I didn't figure the use by date would be any problem for you guys .

In time, though, the hole they leave behind becomes a window in your heart for compassion towards others and it becomes easier to bear. Sorry too for your loss, SC.

On The Effective Use Of Punishment

Hey Jeff :D Good to 'see' you. You have been MIA? I haven't 'seen' you around in a while. Your dogs been treating you good? Sorry to OP for OT. -
I know an org you can report yourself to. They'll come armed with TV crew to boot. :D

As per the Title ..... would there be anyone who does rescue work who would like this and who would be able to pick it up from me in Berwick Vic? Free, of course. Unopened bag. Downside is that the use-by date is 11th February 2010. I think I also have some of the same that is from a bag I opened but put it in a different storage container. Use by would be about the same, I think.

My Dog Is Really Restless And Wont Settle Down
Erny replied to vnv's topic in General Dog Discussion
If it were me, I'd be skipping the vaccination until well after your dog is back to normal. Mind you, if it were me, I'd be skipping the vaccination altogether. I doubt that her restlessness, whining etc. would relate back to a Vet visit. -
I think "K9 Fives" might have been similar, although a more recent product than the one I'm thinking of. Although I think you might be right in that there was a yellow (cheese) one as well. I remember the box (I think) was a brown colour and had pictures of the different coloured biscuit bones on it. I just can't visualise the name of it. Mind you, this would have to be about 43 years or so ago.

We'd bury it in holes to stop ourselves from digging.

My Dog Is Really Restless And Wont Settle Down
Erny replied to vnv's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yay for your Vet . I'd have rested her for a couple of days if temp was up. Is her body posture 'normal'? (eg. is she arching her back or anything like that, even if only slightly?) I'd be slipping back to the Vet's tomorrow morning to ask them to check her temp again. (You can purchase a thermometer from the Chemist - let them know it is for a dog.) When anything like this happens to any of mine, I don't hesitate to dose up on Active Manuka Honey (UMF +20 or higher). I always have some in stock in the pantry. It's handy. -
I found my pantry empty one night and rather than race down to the supermarket after an exhausting day, I pulled down from the freezer a frozen vegetable portion that I had actually prepared for my dog and fried it up and had it as a vegie sandwich. It was yummm. Now I KNOW that it was fit for human consumption and I often think that if I ate more of what I prepared for my dog I'd probably be eating healthier than I ordinarily do for myself. Couldn't eat a dog biscuit now (even if I wanted to, which I don't). I'd crack my teeth caps.

On The Effective Use Of Punishment
Erny replied to corvus's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
That's what most of the 'balanced' trainers do (well, of those that I know). It's a given that in the teaching phase, there is no room for corrections. It is only in the training phase that corrections are introduced where they might be necessary to increase reliability where reliability is required. -
Ditto. Can't remember the brand. Biscuits shaped like bones and they came in different colours. Brown (chocolate) Pink (strawberry) Cream (vanilla) Green (ummm ?) Of course they were always disappointing to the taste buds Given they are often marketed as very healthy for the dogs you'd think we should be able to cook it up and eat it ourselves.

I don't know if perhaps it was because each separate 'issue' seemed to be somehow connected to each other and there were cross over dates and visits to different Vets/specialists. On top of that, no clear diagnosis??? Maybe that had them checking into it and perhaps doubting it? One of the reasons was just a misunderstanding of a date. I can see from the way the Vet report printed where this might have been possible. I don't think I have cause to complain now. As I mentioned, whilst it went through review and took a while, it has all been sorted and paid. I have another to put through and I'm hoping that it will be less confusing now because it will simply be one bill/one claim.
-
Other than the fact that all of my initial 3 claims (which I submitted at the one time) were denied but (after I applied for review) were subsequently approved (it took a while, but it did come through) I don't recall having had any difficulties on the administrative side of things.

I think the hair analysis technique that they are referring to is a physical analysis of a sample of the hair to a laboratory and a subsequent breakdown of minerals, chemical levels and such that build up in the hair strand itself over time ... its a common tool (and becoming more common) used for humans by Naturopaths (and some Herbalists) at the moment .... Yeah I don't think they were....What's commonly available and advertised is the one that is done by hands over energy... If they were, it would be great if they could post a link..... I don't think that's the way Barry Templeton analysis hair samples. From what I gather, machines are used. There is something to do with vibration energy or something or other, but I think it is the way Fiona describes it above.

He's pretty solid looking now though.

Ahhh. Ok. Because it wasn't related to your situation and the original question, I wasn't sure where you were coming from. But I hope that my post has helped in answering your question.
-
If you're trying to get me to say that mounting is never sexually related, I won't say that because that would be silly. To answer your question, it is possible that entire males mounting bitches can be dominance based and not sexually based.

No - it will simply be someone they want to make an example of. An example of their power. And what easier person to do that to but one that is not hiding, but merely and innocently taking their dog for a nice walk.
