  1. Listnen to showdog!. If a groomer says they will do it in 1 hour then you can bet your bottom dollar that the groom won't be right, nor will the dog be introduced to the whole grooming process pleasently. I really don't understand why everyone wants to rush their dogs first clip. Good groomers would turn a dog down if not given enough time to do the clip you desire perfectly. But I do think 6 hours is abit over the top for a 16 week old puppy.
  2. I'm starting to consider anywhere in Australia. There is a shortage of good groomers everywhere, but if they don't advertise it's difficult to know who needs one. My guess is that they are few and far between so they feel it's not worth while.
  3. Please PM me if you would like further information.
  4. I've only had one unusual request and that was to turn a MaltX into a chinese crested LOL! Owner loved it when she came to pick it up.
  5. I haven't read the whole thread but is your baby staying cool?. Maybe the dreaded heat is getting to him.?
  6. Many things cause skin conditions, unfortunatly most vets will only focus on the topical causes. Thats why it's important to explain your services to customers clearly.
  7. To Timmy, Love you lots and already miss you so much. We had a big day planned for your birthday, but you chose to go to rainbow bridge instead. Loyal to the end and never showed one moment of sorrow. Good bye my friend, Mummy loves you lots!!! Tiny(aka Timmy, Rambo, Mottles, Womble) 06/06/1993 - 04/06/2006
  8. Without a doubt Sheer Magic's are the best. Thier cheap, Very lightweight and stay sharp.
  9. Forgive my stupid question. What if he is one of those he/she's?. Sorry crude, but can't think of the term.
  10. I started with a tafe course. Cert 3 in Companion animal services at ithica tafe Brisbane. Its a multi course so you have to bite your lip when doing the RSPCA stuff. Then rang groomers. There is a course run by ? at the Gold coast. Its $2000 - $3000 though.
  11. My so called bias with big dogs are only the ones who are so big they don't fit into the hydrobath. Or the ones that are loafs that refuse everything and have huge coats. When you work on your own handling a big dog is sometimes trying. No bad karma meant for the big dog population. I'm sure the well behaved ones a very sweet. And as all my big dog clients are like this I use the term any big dog.
  12. My hates are breeds in particular. English Cocker (Golden) - Bad coat, Bad finish half the time, bad temprements. Take forever to dry and are alway comming in mattered. Malt X Whatever - Bad temprement, Coat varies so much from bad to ugly. Poodle (cotton coat) - Matts when you look at it, You can fluff dry them till your arms fall off and it will still seem curly. Most are badly bred with the dumbest owners to walk this earth. But when those good owners walk in every 4 weeks for thier pooches FFT it makes it worth it. Oh and any big dog. Does anyone ever have gremlins taking of with the hydrobath plugs?. Happens all the time at work. I would discribe grooming as Constipation. No matter how hard you try and educate, clip, keep the dog comfortable the owners still bring it back in the same condition and have same frame of mind.
  13. I'm no vet but what about intestinal worms?. Some cause bleeding, Don't think it would cause vomiting though. Black suggest a renal problem IMO.
