Showdog: did you not get any results from chiro treatment?

I have used both in the past, but separately, with excellent results. I have read they can compliment each other , has anyone used a combination of chiro and bowen? How long would you leave before treatments? Or is it to be avoided? I handle a dog for someone who has been pacing, roaching back etc,who has not previously done this. Any advice/opinions appreciated.

When you have a litter planned, how far in advance do you advertise on your website you have a litter planned/ and start taking names for possible homes?

Not sure how to edit my above post- but should add I am reg breeder, and bitch has been health tested and passed all tests.

I have 2 bitches at home. The older one had 6months between her 1st/2nd season. She now cycles at the same time as the younger bitch. Seasons have been November, March and currently now. Days between seasons have been 130 and 110. I have read that shortened interestrous intervals can affect the bitches uterus ability to recover from a season and affect fertility. Can anyone share experiences (good or bad) with a bitch that has cycled frequently? mostly in regards to breeding and maintaining a pregnancy. I am planning on breeding the older bitch but due to numerous factors, not until next year (she will be 3)

thanks for your reply SchnauzerMax How did your vet diagnose Zeppi with an Epulis? Good to know that if it is this it will keep growing (I didn't know this) I understand that a benign mass does not necessarily equate to harmless Vet couldn't identify the mass last week- I asked if it was an Epulis, or perhaps an oral tumour but they weren't sure.

Just wanting to get others' experiences with oral mass/ Epulis. My dog has had a mass appear rather quickly around her Upper right canine tooth. It is firm, smooth and pink. Doesn't extend to the root (ie is not an abscess) It hasn't grown in size since. It would be approx the size of 2 peas. Vet checked on the weekend- confirmed not abscess, however wasn't sure as to what it could be. Suggested recheck if no change and possible dental xrays/ biopsies. I have been reading a bit on Epulis and oral masses.... has anyone had an oral mass removed? Did they have to remove the tooth surrounding as well? Anyone had any malignant oral masses? Not sure how to go about this.... if its something that can be left as it is without doing any harm, would prefer to leave it. On the other hand not sure how to tell if its something cancerous and if so will take it out

Which vets in Perth do TCIs, and what have breeders found the success rate to be? I have so far found Applecross & All Creatures South Perth to do this procedure. Semen would be chilled (from interstate) Has anyone done surgical AI instead (with chilled semen) with good success? All feedback appreciated, please PM me if you prefer

there is a Polish Tatra in WA- I think its the only one in Australia. I could be wrong but I though it was going to be in group 5.

I had a similar situation to lolapalooza (in regards to vet) I woke up in the morning to find my bitch distressed and unhappy. Standing hunched, very uncomfortable. Had a vomit. Her abdo was distended. Called vet and said I suspect bloat who told me 'it doesn't sound like it'. It was an Easter long weekend and despite their comment I took her in. Junior vet on, told me it definitly wasn't bloat- 'probably just a stomach bug' ( stomach bugs don't distend the abdo like this!) I demanded an xray which showed a very enlarged stomach (fortunately not twisted) Had I gone on his advice- she wouldn't still be around today! Moral of story- if you even slightly suspect bloat- get to your vet ASAP. Don't be afraid to ask for an x-ray- it could just save your dogs life!

Hey Jaimee, get as many books as you can afford! Sone books have information that other books don't have and viva versa. This is really useful when you are doing vet nursing via correspondence.

They don't accept aggressive dogs or entire males over 6months. I don't have entire males.

I am thinking of putting my 2 dogs in a Doggy Day care every now and then for a bit of play with other dogs/day out etc. I have seen a few available- Pampered Pooch, Appy Boarding Kennels. Has anyone taken their dogs to either of these for doggy day care ? Or anywhere else in Perth they recommend/dont recommend? If preferred, please PM me :)

Anyone know what happens if you misplace a BOB/ challenge certificate- can you somehow get a copy or something for when you apply for the dogs title?

My dryer died tonight ....so I will need to replace it ASAP !! What dryer brands are good/ can people recommend. Any to steer clear of? I would like to test the dryers, but being in WA I think I am limited, so am relying on 'word of mouth'! I have Bernese Mountain dogs. Any help/advice greatly appreciated!!

What medication is he on? Dogs with hypothyrodism need regular blood tests to check thyroid levels to ensure they are getting the right dosage- if there's no improvement I'd get him rechecked by the vet

Does he have any symptoms apart from hair loss? Lethargy ? Weight gain? Have the dog tested Free T4/Tsh , or total T4 at a minimum. Color dilution alopecia only affects blue dobes and the fawns.
