I bought a Cosy Cave a few years ago for my whippets, none of them liked it, I ended up taking out the hoop that held the top up and using it as a normal bed,

Apparently Proheart tablets are being discontinued, Fort Dodge are only going to be producing their yearly injection.

Well done ............. a great promotion for back yard breeding......and the information about buying the pups is on your website !!!!
Anything for a story !!

I've heard that they sweat and the bedding gets very damp, a friend had one and put extra holes in the bottom, but still had the problem, she diced it !!

A very Happy New Year to all Dolers and their 4 legged friends ! May all your dreams come true !!

Thanks yet again for your help Rappie, I was just a bit concerned about being told different time lines, but different circumstances, I guess.

It depends on for what purpose you're asking. The minimum washout period between different NSAIDS and drugs like prednisololone vary. Although the clinical effects of analgesia last 24 hours there can be some residual effects beyond that.
Last dose of Carprieve Friday morning, advised to start Previcox Sunday morning............had been told on a different occasion to wait longer than 2 days !!

Thanks Ness, hope your girls are going well !!

Wondering how long it takes to get out of a dogs system ?

My late husband made a set of wide wooden steps covered with carpet for our elderly whippet, many years ago, they are very sturdy and the dogs felt very secure. Those DD ones are only a plastic frame underneath the covering, they'd be ok for little dogs, but I wouldn't trust them for a bigger elderly dog.

Trish, her name is Pia. :)
I couldn't remember her name, but have admired her before in your posts, she is such a special girl, that photo should be used by GAP and other rescues. Give her a BIG cuddle from me.

Beautiful photos of a special grey and cute kitties.........what is her real name ?

I think no 2 is cute, but I do love the action in no 1........although she looks a little off balance......sorry, not much help.

It sounds like geriatric vestibular to me, the nystigmus and wobbling were the symptoms that Jazz had when she had it. I was lucky with her, she got over it in about 24 hours, but it can go on for weeks.
The amylase is usually pancreatic inflammation, but if it is just over, I wouldn't be too worried about that.
I do hope she recovers quickly, it is so upsetting to see them so distressed.

I have thought about calling the ranger, but it is more the ' when will they eventually turn up' that may see the offenders leave before they get there. There have been so many times I wish I could just Dial a Ranger. It is not just at the lake, but in public. People and their right to have their dog off leash when it is supposed to be on leash!!
I didn't know there are now 3 areas. I know the kind of secluded one on the left just as you enter. It is a big round bit surrounded by trees. The other one is next to the stream . I take my girl there when there are no dogs around. Where is the 3rd?
Where else do people walk their dogs? I don't mind seeing other on leash dogs on the walk. Walking around the 'burbs gets abit boring at times.
Silentchild, that is awful about your poor dog! Hope the owner got an earful!
There is an app called Snap Send Solve, which is great for circumstances like this, I have used it when someone was illegally parked in a handicapped parking space and had left little children unattended. The council were there in a flash !
Of course the success depends on how quickly the rangers respond, but it is quick and easy to use.

Well, after being such heroes on Saturday the boys really blotted their copy books today. Iggy mum and I went out for a hour or so and left them in her house. We checked that there were not pills or food within reach on the benches because when she looked after them for me while I was in hospital they got up on her kitchen benches and ransacked them. Yep, every thing ok and out of reach, so we thought. I forgot that she has a kitchen tidy. Why do they call them that. Anyway, it's now a kitchen untidy because this is the sight that greeted us when we returned. They took rubbish into every room they had access to so they could comfortably lick the contents of old containers. Luckily they didn't open that bottle of cream, I dread to think of the mess they would have made of that.

I can just imagine her own dogs looking on in awe and saying we dont do that here, but then throwing caution to the wind and joining in on the garbage smorgasbord
Just look who is licking their lips..............,maybe it wasn't the boys after all !! Just sayin''

This is the beautiful Rachel who joined our little family a few weeks ago. She is a real sweetie and she and her whippet sister Leah are getting along famously.
Its lovely to have a greyhound in the house again.!
