  1. Congratulations on resisting the urge to smuggle her into your bed, I'm sure the whippies appreciated it though, they will now know that this little girl is not going to usurp their position in your heart.

She is just the cutest little thing, so precious, she will not take long to have the boys wrapped around her tiny paws....

    Look forward to more photos.

  2. The change in voice is something I have never noticed Linda, as you know Skye was just 15 when I lost her, and sadly I gave Jazz her wings 2 weeks ago,she was just a couple of weeks shy of 16.

Believe me her voice was as good as ever, particularly if I was slow getting her dinner.

So its been a sad couple of weeks here, Leah has been a blessing, it has all worked out extremely well.

Hugs to dear Penny, it is sad to see them getting old isn't it ? We just don't have them for long enough.

  3. As you know Jules I have just been through this, and I have to agree with Pers, that this stage is the worst.

I felt better after having spoken to Marie (Vet, from Let me go) and made that decision, but afterwards although I was, and still am, devastated there was a feeling of relief.

No more pain for my girl, who was nearly 16, no more worrying if she had pain or if the pain relief was enough, I can actually take the others for a walk without worrying whether Jazzy was OK at home or not, it had got to the stage that I didn't want to leave her at all.

I'm sure you will know when the time is right !

  4. My son lives in the USA, and he and his wife have a new baby, she is now 3 months old, I don't know when I will get to see her because I can't leave my nearly 16 year old whippet Jazz, I couldn't bear to leave her, she worries when she can't see me, and is deaf too.

I have a lovely lass who comes and stays in my house to babysit the dogs, but I couldn't bear the thought of not being here if something were to happen.

Sadly and realistically I won't have much more time to wait.

The Vet check may give you peace of mind to go, its just for 3 days, but only you can make that decision.
