  1. Gorgeous Penny, I was thinking of her and Kibah today. Lovely photos of her showing her 'puppy moments', may she have many more !!

My friend Sue, who had Kibahs brother, has a birthday on Sunday, and I have given her a beautiful card with Kibah on the front.....one of the ones that you drew.

I had kept it, knowing that there would come a day when such a special card would be needed, I just know that Sue is going to love it !!

Good luck for next week, it will be all good !!

  2. Yesterday I was at the park, (not a dog park) but a huge area in our council area that you are allowed to have off leash dogs, with my 2 whippets, a friend was with me with 2 of her whippets.

Most people who walk their dogs over there put their dogs on leads if they see another dog approaching.

We did this yesterday as we saw dogs approaching, the owners did not leash their dogs, and within a few minutes we were surrounded by a snapping snarling Golden Retriever and a Bernese mountain dog.

Thankfully the owners eventually caught up and grabbed their dogs before there was contact, but it goes to show that any breed can cause trouble.

My boy reacted of course which didn't help matters, it was scary for a few minutes.

  3. Maddy

I called Wayne from Moorholme instead

Wayne is a champ. On time, every time; no dramas, no hissy fits; no problems and I suspect the rate is a little better too. Experience counts.

Rate is definitely better. In our case, by about $50.

Is this Wayrod, I have a friend returning to Australia from the UK at the end of the year, and was going to recommend him, does he have a website ?

She is bringing her 2 westies with her !

  4. If I remember correctly there was a problem with one of the ingredients, according to customs.

I think it was then brought in without the offending ingredient, but it was never as good as it was before.(In my opinion)

The product that is sold overseas still is the original product, and that is probably why it is being held up by customs.

  5. I had a doberman years ago, who suddenly attacked one of my cats, they had previously been great friends, then he attacked a friend, and 10 minutes later turned on my husband who he loved.

Sadly she was diagnosed with a brain tumour and pts, but it all happened very quickly in a very short period of time.

I'm sorry for what you are going through.

  6. I have ordered from the Snooza site, great prompt service, they manufacture to order so it takes a couple of days for your bed to be made, but sent by courier very promptly.

My whippies love their beds, and they are hard to please in the bed department, they prefer mine !!

  7. I had my 16 year old whippet pts at home, and the vet (who doesn't practice any more, she just does euthenasia at home) insisted that I let my other 2 whippies come and visit her on my bed, so that they knew she was gone.

They both reacted differently, Flynn, who had never known life without Jasmine, simply sniffed her a couple of times and went and crawled onto the vets lap, but Leah who had only been with us for 6 months, licked Jazz's face and sat with her for about 15 minutes, just looking and licking her.

Neither were upset afterwards, and didn't go looking for her, I'm sure they knew that she was gone.

I would certainly do it again, it is different I know, but when my husband died, they would peer around me to see if he was coming when I would come in the front door. It took a long time for them to twig that he was not coming home again.

  8. Great news that little Feather is feeling a little better, it must have been so scary !! I bet you felt so ill !!

They like to scare us don't they ? 3 days before I was due to fly out to the USA, Leah chased a bird into a tree in my pristine back yard, landed on a soft fern and somehow managed to split the skin under her arm. It was about 1 1/2" long, so off to the vet for staples, I felt so bad leaving her, but the lass who house and babysits for me is very efficient. I spent the night making t-shirts that she could wear so that she would not lick the wound.

I worried about her until the 10 days were up and the staples came out !! Just a few more grey hairs !!

Hopefully, Feather will improve daily, take it easy and let nurse Neko look after her, and not try to rough house with the boys for a good while!!
