$100

Yeah what's with that?? Will keep asking around.
-
Ohh... I might see you there
-
Do you know who they used??
-
They told me they don't. Put me onto Onica something. Might be worth another call.

Oh it gets better than that. Got put through about 7 different people before being told "no we don't do that kind of freight" Rang a different number and was told "sure will just put you onto the person that does that" (5 mins ago they didn't do it and now there is a dedicated person?? I must be lucky!!) Cool no worries she's getting back to me with a quote shortly. Yeah so the freight is $6810 + GST - this was me --> :D I told her that I had a quote for $1900 and that is such a massive difference, her "yeah it is *quick pause* so will I book this in for you?" Ahhh NO! Flaming morons.

I am hoping the FIL decides to buy a new truck for the business in the near future. Have been putting feelers out. $6810 + GST = Bad TOLL I have a quote for $1900 and worked out it will probably cost around $1500 to drive down and get it. :D ;) :D I'll drive it up for accomodation. Depends on how long for

Has anyone ever freighted their trailer?? Either when you bought it or if you moved? Just purchased a trailer and am trying to work out the best way to relocate it.

If someone is lucky enough to beat me they deserve that well done, they've earned it

My approach to showing is fairly consistent. I have been showing for 15 years now and I have only one occasion where I have said anything that I really regret now. It was after I won a BIG with a dog and it was taken off me for a stupid mistake (my mistake) I feel that the events around the way the mistake was pointed out and subsequently handled were unfair and overall a massive disappointment for all involved. I was very vocal and at one point hysterical about the way it was handled, I bawled and now realise that my own mistake made it possible for what happened. However I still feel that those that pointed out my mistake did so with malicious intent and this is the reason I was vocal. Apart from that, everytime I walk out of the ring I will always say "Well done", "Congrats" to the winner and other handlers, it's almost a habit now but I feel it's a good habit to say it regardless of if I mean it or not. I will admit that I have bitched about dogs winning when I don't think they are deserving, however I will do it in the privacy of my home or my fellow showers home. I have been re-reading a list set up for members of Dogs NT, an unofficial group that has had it's moments but it's interesting to read back in 2006 and what was going on. Our Dog World has changed and evolved but it would never be what it is without each group that completes the chain, there are the nasty pair that will speak out everytime they lose, the happy go lucky who are there every show rain hail or shine - win or lose, the newbies eager to learn, the old and jaded, the young and jaded etc. I love it all.

Or in bad homes

No one answered this one so I will, Sundry is for anything else, I have used it for Membership in the past for example. One cheque is fine unless stated otherwise. Take particular not of where the entries are to be sent to, if they are being sent to different people then two cheques but generally speaking Sweepies and normal classes are receipted by the one person. As you already put the breed at the top I wouldn't expect that you need to put the (LH) after the Exhibit Name. I would expect it's just a part of the database system that denotes Long Haired again. Weird one though.

And with the handle stitched in. ETA: this handle isn't going to break easily, I was on one end and my OH on the other and it didn't break or even budge.

My first try at braiding.

All my paracord arrived today ;)

New Championship Title For Neutered Dogs

That is exactly where I was going with my perception comments. If a newbie comes in with an attitude that they are losing because they are new, because a Grd Ch is entered, because the person that won has been showing for years irregardless of the dog, etc - would you want them in the dog world? I wouldn't with that attitude to be honest - I understand people can change their attitude etc but with that instant attitude there is very few established exhibitors that would want to help. Sandra has a boy that only had one testicle drop, was shown as a baby puppy but nothing more. If I was to show him as a Neuter I'd come under the "showing for years" category, cool the excuse is there. Fact that the dog (untitled) is better is forgotten because I'm a big meanie shower beating the newbie. The dog would not be titled Megz. That was the exclusion I proposed. It's the combination of titled dog AND experienced handler I object to. I agree it shouldn't be a cake walk to gain one of these. It also shouldn't be Mount Everest. If a newb concluded that they'd lost because a Gr CH with an experienced handler was entered, I'd be inclined to agree with them It's what they do with that conclusion that concerns me. I really do think this shouldn't about giving retired titled dogs an airing. My pug was retired because she was desexed, she wasn't desexed because she was retired. Her titles make no difference to that fact. My Toller is titled, just a Ch, he's desexed now. If he wasn't the size of a house he'd probably come out for some fun. Do you want the exclusion to just include Grd Ch dogs? Or all titles?? A Ch title doesn't automatically mean a quality dog, and ueven the Grd Ch title could be seen the same way. -

We both get each others point of view but we disagree, that's normal. I see the Open shows and Member's Comps the place for Newbies, even to a lesser extent training classes. If they don't have the balls for the conformation ring then don't step into it. At the end of the day the Neuter Class and Title is incorporated into the Conformation ring, it is not separated like a sweepstakes class or alike. It is a class within normal conformation so I do think that it should be treated the same. In the trial ring, a club up here suggested a "Not For Competition" class. I can't really go into it too much at the moment but this is basically a separate discipline to give a newbie the chance to enter in trial conditions without actually competing, without a winner etc. Very similar to an open show in terms of less pressure and a more learning environment. Is this where we start the scratching and hair pulling? We don't own the right breed to really get into it that much hehe -

That they get experience competing against other dogs? The chance to beat an established show dog and handler? They learn ring craft with other dogs in their ring. They have someone in the same class which gives them a good person to ask questions of. No dog is unbeatable. Hardly a level playing field though is it? And the conformation ring is? -

This is what I was trying to say before. Perception and reality can be two entirely different things. We have a dog up here that has won the majority of the BIS' for the end of last year and the first of two for this year. It's a running joke that the dog is unbeatable. It was beaten at Group level at the Feb show, didn't get RUIG either. -
