Where's my rock has a small sheltie and he gives great focus Just stick with it, he will get there You don't necessarily have to use the treat to get his attention, you can just stand in front of him and wait (on lead) Eventually he will look up at you to see what the hell you are doing, then very quickly you say "yes" or click if you have a clicker, and always treat after the "yes/click" Edited to say I posted that as you posted Stella

Cool - will see you down there then

Mine s a little different because Molly was 8 months old, but with Eddie and Molly we introduced them out the front on the nature strip, let them check each other out on lead to make sure that everything was initially all fine We then watched them in the back yard off lead, and continually watched them together for the next month or so, we also put them in sperate runs during the day (at the time the run wasn't divided so Eddie stayed in the bathroom and bedroom during the day and Molly had the run After a week or so we had put a divider in the run, which Molly dug under a few times, and then when the underneath of the divider was secured she started jumping it to be with Eddie They have been together since I would just be careful not to favour the pup (I know you've already mentioned this too)

Don't stress too much I would advise going for an xray sooner though, as we stuffed around for a while before we got one Some dogs are calm enough to take the xray awake, but others need to be put under, our vet only put him under for a minute or so, just to get the picture (is it twilight or something?)

Here are links to my threads about it from ages ago http://forums.dogzonline.com.au/index.php?...c=52979&hl= http://forums.dogzonline.com.au/index.php?...c=55508&hl=

It might not be but it sounds like he has done what Eddie did, which is fractured his sesamoids in his paw We took Eddie to the vet about it a few times and they all gave s a few different opinions, but when we got him xrayed it showed fractures in all sesamoids in his left paw He had a few weeks of confinement (laundry only) and no off lead play for months, there is nothing much else you can do, oh we also rubbed comfrey gel into his paw every day and he now gets glucosamine with his dinner I felt so mean confining him, buyt on the times when I let him run anyway and he would pull up limping after a aleep I felt even worse It might not be, but the symptoms are very similar, pm me if you like

Gosh another Mav Rest in Peace little fella

We spent a few times a week at the breeders from when the pups were 1 week old so we got to know them, and Mav was always the biggest and boldest pup out of the 5 I feel so much for his owner

Just found out tonight that one of Eddie's litter mates, Maverick, was bitten by a snake and died I just felt that he deserved to have a post Here is a pic of him and Eddie when they were little, Mav is the black and white, he was 14 months old

Prey Drive Control & Focus..

Ok, I have one dog who will already get exctied and pull against her tie to get the toy But Eddie if he is tied is not at all interested in the toy, off the tie, completely different story, and in TOT he will pull against the tie cos he wants his dinner, so its not an issue with pulling I think it may be cos the first jump he was tied he jumped for the toy and flipped himself, and he's now upset about it Molly on the other hand will jump at it even if she hits the end So those who have done this work, any advice for Eddie's tie back issues? And should I be worried about Molly hitting the end of her tie and flipping herself? Oh and do you talk to them during this period? Rev them up or be silent?
