  1. yes the above is all current, it is howver about to change, my carrier assures me within the next six months it will only be 10 days in Australia ( same at the the end) This info is current as of last week, good luck with your import.
  2. They have a FB page and list the breed numbers a few days prior, ( bunbury Dog Club) being only a small show you may be lucky, there is usually a lady who shows them each week. Faling that Dogs West most weekends have shows and they are usually there.
  3. what a fabulous xmas present for you all, what size are they ? I always want to know why we the unglamourous ones got lumped in with the Poodles lol! Such a difference in so many ways.
  4. I use Dogtainers, but if you can find someone coming over its cheaper to get the dog excess baggage ( qantas do it and virgin)
  5. Fantastic PT, I still recall the last litter, I live off the excitement of everyones bubs !!! one day ............
  6. Thats a fab day as its my birthday ( albeit many years and many many moons ago) congrats!
  7. What breed dogmate ? wow the December litters are very quiet!
  8. well all of them I guess, play it like the game it is and enter to get all three BISS! but it would be a BIBYS a (Best in Backyard show!!)
  9. My pet hate, too! Can't stand TAFE qualified people calling themselves a BEHAVIOURIST. Pffft. And no, I have nothing against TAFE, I have done many years at TAFE myself, including starting their companion animals course a few years back. It's just a title people are claiming up way too easily and don't have the relevant university degree and experience to back it up. lolol thats like me saying I win the Xolo National every year here in Australia ( and I do) I hold it in my backyard and show them all myself! lolol Hehehe, had a good laugh at this lol. I have seen your dogs before, and my initial reaction was " I wonder how many people have them" lol thats why I win the Xolo National, kick my own butt at every show! lolololol
  10. Me too - I love the DPCA's one Dobequest, it's very cool to have a read through - not many dogs from this side of the world listed, but you can go back through their pedigrees and look at cause of death and health testing on their grandparents and all of the siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles... Very fascinating! that is great to see in some breeds, we have a very new one for Xolos, and its great to see we are at least getting started to help the breeds future.
  11. I have a very old breed and sadly people have not tetsed or formed the relevant sharing and testing databases to help the breed, we are doing the very basics now, but for a very old breed, there is not a lot known about the health status and very few tests available that are breed specific, none the less I will test and record what i can for future reference, many are in this line of thinking, so hopefully in the future it will help others.
  12. Cant answer WHY the ANKC dont require it But IMHO any breeder worth their salt would test for anything in their breed that they could, sadly in my breed (testing hasnt formed a database )so I dont have any breed recognised problems,(yet) but I xray Hips and elbows and have eyes checked yearly. Temp testing is a MUST to me in any breed of dog. I will be interested to read answers.

  14. I love to watch any dog that moves well, a stand out dog is just that, no matter what the breed. A good handler that gets the best from the dog as well makes a BIG difference, which is why I dont show my dogs! we can all learn from most breeds and I enjoy them all.

It's just a title people are claiming up way too easily and don't have the relevant university degree and experience to back it up. Experience in anything is great, but in my personal experience i like to use the ones with experience and the qualifications, the person i use has both .....(M.Soc.Sci, Ph.D) is an Applied Animal Behaviourist (degrees in Zoology and Psychology, and a doctorate in animal behaviour) which specialised in dog attacks on livestock, they also have 25 years of experience in consulting and research in animal behaviour, management, welfare and training. I liked them and they were great with my dogs, everyone has their own likes and dislikes, but I like mine and can demonstrate the results with all my dogs ( me on the other hand still needs the odd reminder lol) ...and for 3what its worth I had many years in training and temp testing dogs through my work as a Dog handler, but its still just a bit of paper! lol
  16. Good post Rach, the same goes for what people call Behaviorists, some are just down right awful,(nice people but bad trainers) anyone can get a piece of paper, the whole system needs to be regulated so people can get a fair deal for them and their animals, it’s far too easy to get animals and far too easy to call oneself a "Professional" I searched for a while to find a qualified animal person to temp assess my dogs, I was surprised how many are actually qualified and capable, I had to use an interstater.
  17. Big Congratulations to Makaela Edmonston on winning the National Junior Handler finals, and will represent Australia at Crufts 2013. Huge Congrats Mak, well deserved.
  18. I just want to say Rach! xcox Why the 'Rach!' Haven't seen him since I managed to steal him for most of that agility show when he was a puppy! Haven't been around a show in a while and ended up with someones dog like I always used to haha Sorry should have said SEE the Rach....... 23. Thank you Swayd, you will make a young lady ( not me!!lolol) very happy if Xolos can get there! Hopefully the Xolo's can make it, don't forget to get in contact with Jo and work on some info to help promote the breed. I called her the other day and mentioned that we would like to come, she was going to email me some recc stay areas that took the dogs. Hoping to get some info next week, luckily I only have to go the Friday and Sat, as we are on close to the group. never got an email back so never entered, poor form for Adelaide, thats Victoria and Adelaide that have really bad comms and I hate bad communication, looks like back to NSW and QLD!! Good luck to all entered
