Age To Bring Puppy Home

Agree with that, definitely not before 8 weeks. Up til this time the pups are still learning vital life lessons about how to behave around other dogs from their dam and littermates. Someone else can probably explain that a little better! :(

Some breeders even keep their pups for longer, maybe 10-12 weeks, but I think that is generally with the smaller breeds.

Your breeder will let you know at what age you can pick the puppy up anyway. :)

My pups stay with me until they are at least 8 weeks old. I prefer them to be a little older, so will often hang onto them for another week or two.

In my experience, puppies that haven't stayed with their family until at least 8 weeks old tend to have more difficulties than others. Im NOT saying that they get sick, or have temperament issues, but from personal experience, pups that stay with their mum until weaning and then their brothers and sisters until at least 8 weeks old tend to do better.

Not before 8 weeks if there a registered ethical breeder. We place out our puppies from 8 weeks, giant schnauzers can easily strt to go to there homes from 8 weeks.

If there being sold under 8 weeks then i would be asking alot of questions as to why & generally its because the person who had the litter doesnt want the hassle of dealing with the 6-8 weeks mark

I prefer to bring a puppy home between 8-10 weeks.

The puppy shouldn't leave its' mother until a least 8 weeks, it needs that time to learn socialisation, bit inhibition, toileting behaviours etc.
