Yes she is very alert, when she see's a new person she rudely looks them up and down.. Lol

She really is a beautiful baby!!! You are very lucky. :)

The customers are a young couple (don't want to name them here). They had a little girl too, called Amelia(?).

They said they'd seen you and yours in Target the other day....

As if a new baby isn't enough, they will soon add Tree Frogs to their family too!

I just had a Woman walk past my shop with TWO French Bulldogs.

Of course, I stopped her for a quick chat.....

"Geez, you don't see too many Frenchies around!"

"I'm sorry?"

"Your French Bulldogs.... they are very uncommon. I've never seen one except for at Dog Shows" I said.

She replies, "Oh, is that what they are? I always wondered what they were, or what they were mixed with!"

"Mixed with??? These are pedigree pure-bred French Bulldogs! They're worth a LOT of money!"

She says "Oh really? I got the pair from the pound. They didn't know what they were there. They didn't cost me much at all!"

 Thats funny!

We had a lady come to obedience with a Frenchi called Gigi, she was a papered PB, she was the funniest most stubborn pig headed dog I have ever met, she was only young and her owner was so blasé, I think that was half the trouble! She told us of stories of Gigi being off lead and running away from them when they were out and about next to a road! I was horrified.

I only just posted in another thread about the difference between Frencies and Bostons.

WIerd that the pound didn't know what they were. Most of the girls at the pound here are up with different breeds and even good at guessing crosses. Maybe she got them at a different pound. Sad they were there in the first place isn't it.

Hey how's everyone doin? What's news?

Not a lot happening here..... just workin'.

I see Pet Goods Direct are still going...

They have made it hard here the last week or so - everyone wanting to get a bargain out there on reptile stuff, but as they can't give any advice, they are coming to me for that!

I've had dozens of people in, spending a heap of time with them, teaching them all they need to know and giving them lists of everything they need, and then they walk off and spend their money at PGD!

Funny thing is though, there is no warranty or returns on anything there, and as most of their stock is so old, lots of people are running into trouble already!

Apparently, the Warrnambool store has moved a heap more stuff than any other store, so they are shipping pallets of stuff here and using our local PGD as like a "clearence centre". I'll be glad when they're gone, to be honest!

Not a lot happening here...

Expecting a litter late this year from Tarni.

This may be our final litter too, as we just don't have the time to put into the pups as we once did and it's getting more difficult. We would like to keep a boy, but we'll see.

I would be ok to not have any more litters actually, but we have people waiting for them so we don't have a lot of option.

Well thats crap about PGD, I have had my friends txting me to see if I knew about the sale, I haven't even bothered to go in. A I already have way too much dog stuff  and B I am trying to save some money for new lenses for my new camera!

Jj, it would be nice if you kept a boy, good company for Tarni, not that she needs it with your house full but doggy company you know what I mean.

I was on the Warrnambool buy and sell livestock page yesterday and seen some posts by a lady in Portland showing dogs for rehoming at the shelter over there. I swear to god one of them is Pandiis Dusty, has anyone heard from her lately. I could be wrong but the age fits and it looks like him.

Yeah? I heard about that Coolie and upon request, posted that it needs rescuing on the Coolie page.

According to that page, the owner lost their house and stuff and couldn't feed the dog, so maybe not...

Geez it sure as hell looks like Dusty though, although I only ever saw puppy pics.

Now that you mention it, the age does fit Pandii's dog

Surely not.... DOL members are well aware of the level of irresponsibility to "dump" a dog at the pound. So many of them are PTS, it's really sad. Surely a DOL member would seek the help from other DOLers before dumping their dog. Also, the dog at the pound is entire, I would have thought she'd have had him desexed. Someone on the Coolie page said they knew the dog, and said it was from Tooloola kennels or something... I wonder if they have been notified? I just hope someone is doing something to save this dog.... I know he's not the only dog that needs rescuing, but after someone drew my attention to it the other day, I kind of feel like I should do something.

Taking him on is not an option - I gather he's been pretty messed-up in his original home. I have too many other animals to have a dog that can't be trusted, we often have snakes and stuff loose around the house, not to mention a toddler and other young kids. I am told he is a real working dog, and NEEDS to be worked daily, and should never have been a backyard pet. I just couldn't deal with a dog like that so I'm not going to take him in; it just wouldn't be fair on him. I reckon he'd be awesome at agility though, for someone dedicated enough! I'm going to look into it further, and see what can be done.

Yes we really miss having a boy dog at home.... Red was our last boy and he was just amazing. Totally deaf from birth, yet learnt dozens of hand-signals with almost no formal training - brilliant, smart boy. We lost Red before we even moved to Warrnambool, so it's been a long time.

Edited because I wrote that the dog was dumped in the pond.... while a better option for the dog, it wasn't factual. Stupid typing-fingers! :o

Well sounds like you need another boy dog for sure!

With regards to this dog in Portland, its not everyday you see a 'coolie' in the pound, he is listed on the page as a "German Koolie" I'm not up with Coolie speak but to me it sounds like he maybe from a breeder like you said, must pop over to the coolie thread and see. Im sure if Pandiis dog had got out and run away she would have checked all the pounds in the area.

As I said, someone on the Coolie (Koolie?) thread seems to know this dog and where it's from.

Edited to say.... this dog was surrendered by its owner, and isn't an escaped pet.
