goldee Posted October 3, 2010 Share Posted October 3, 2010 (edited) The other day i bought a new toy for my Golden Retriever pup (6 months), it was just a cheap rubber squeaky toy from kmart. She isn't too keen on the squeak. It is much louder than other toys that squeak - and she loves those. however, all she does is pick the toy up incredibly gentle, almost trying not to hurt it and then just carries it everywhere in her mouth. She wanders around like she is a bit lost and gives little whimpers. she doesn't try and make it squeak. I haven't seen her do it before. Has anybody came across this or know why they do it? RuralPug Posted October 4, 2010 Share Posted October 4, 2010 That particular toy has triggered her "help a baby of the pack" instinct. She wants to make it happy/comfortable, but doesn't know how.
