OzRottie Posted March 30, 2012 Share Posted March 30, 2012 (edited) I have a rottweiler with seasonal allergy to grasses. He has lost some hair around his eyes. I have started using Zyrtec (1/2 tablet nightly) which is keeping the allergy at bay. What can I use to moisten the skin around his eyes. It has to be safe if some happens to get into the eyes. OzRottie Posted March 30, 2012 Author Share Posted March 30, 2012 Persephone - Already had him checked for demodex mites and he is all clear. Vet said it was just an allergic reaction to grasses & gave me some eye ointment but this was more for the runny eyes. Once I started using Zyrtec the runny eyes & nose have stopped. I presume if I wait long enough the hair would regrow around his eyes as well but I would like to keep them moistened in the meantime. :D Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have used it ..just a drop or two on a finger,spread around , and rub in well ..repeat, repeat , then wipe off with a clean tissue .The amount which would somehow get into an eye is absolutely minimal, and I thought it was a safe thing to use ...
