Hi,

My partner and I are very much into weekends away and want to continue this practice when we get a pup in October.

Could anyone suggest reasonably priced ($100 or less/night) camping sites or cabins in NSW, preferably in a beach/lake area which are dog friendly?

I've done a few searches on stays and turu but everything seems to state dogs are to stay outside of a cabin which isnt much help with a whippet.

Thanks in advance, Sarah.

If you're on Facebook join up on this page, it's Australia wide and there are a lot of people on it that are travelling with their dogs on a permanent basis.

Also check out the pet friendly accommodation thread in General, they are places DOLers have stayed with their dogs.

Holidaying With Dogs is another good site.

We have a greyhound and great dane. We have a camper van, and previously have tented.

We stayed at Pether Cottage in Talbingo with 3 dogs a few years ago, and dogs were allowed inside.

We have camped at Moruya South Head (near the airport - but it seems to be getting rowdier now), Shallow Crossing on the Clyde River) and Talbingo Caravan Park.

Our dogs are very placid and happy to have a few walks/explores, and then hang around with us lazing about

We are a big fan of camping at Delicate Nobby Camp grounds just south of Crescent Head on the NSW Mid North Coast.

It is dog friendly, although it is very rough and ready. Bore water showers and toilets, and it is find your own spot of comfort.

You camp right next to beaches and can have campfires at night weather permitting.

Everyone just seems to be super friendly and get on there. Very dog tolerant.

We are biased but give it a 5 Star rating if you love camping. :)

$15 a night camp site. Avoid Christmas, school holidays as they are very busy. :)
