  1. Oh dear how frightening for you, keeping everything crossed, I know it's hard not to worry (I think we're all the same when something like this happens though) and stay calm which will hopefully help the kids to settle a bit, sit and talk to them about it and explain the vets will try their hardest to make sure Dakota is okay. Please let us know how Dakota is as soon as you have any news, sending lots of hugs to you, your family and Dakota Keep trying to think positive thoughts and we'll all do the same with you.
  2. Great news Jodie that Ollie is doing so well, fingers crossed for positive results. You keep fighting Ollie dog we all want to see lots of pics of your huge 10th birthday celebration.
  3. Keeping you and Mojo in our thoughts especially today, hope the tests are a positive and happy result.
  4. I just saw this thread, I'm very sorry for your loss RIP little one :D He sounds like his was a real trouper.
  5. Lea, That is wonderful news, sending lots of healing vibes his way.
  6. Lea so sorry to hear you have sad news, my heart goes out to you, I have never been through this type of cancer but I lost my mally in my avatar to Osteosarcoma, we tried the conventional medicine but it failed and he also had the limb salvage operation but the cancer still managed to get to his lungs and when I found that out I tried natural alternativemedicine, it gave him a much better quality of life while he was on and it did make a difference to him that rather than the traditional. I hope someone who has gone through this type of thing is able to give some ideas as to what to expect. ;) to you and your furkid.
  7. Congratulations, a well deserved Brag, you must be very proud of the achievements she has accomplished.
  8. OUr Seeing Eye Pups are raised on Royal Canin and they do very well with it, love the taste and their skin and coats are great. Let us know how it goes for your furkids
  9. He looks fine to me, I keep all my dogs lean and trust me they are never starved , much better for their heart and hips not to carry any excess weight. I know with all my neighbors dogs they are fed a crap diet and are overweight so my boy looks strange standing next to them as he looks anorexic but he is healthy and that's what it's all about.
  10. So SM have you touched them yet? :D You know you wanna
  11. We use Eukanuba and I'm pretty happy with it but after reading all the testimonials here on Nutro I think we may give it a try, we are due to get more dry food so maybe off to see Sags I think.
  12. How heartwarming it is to read a story where a responsible person adopts a dog and asks for advice from someone with experience, I know this dog will look fantastic in a short while. Brought a smile to my face to hear such good news.
  13. Hoping to send the good news fairy your way with some much needed joy.
  14. I missed the other thread so didn't get to read all the nastiness that went on, I also second what jaybeece has commented on, I find a wealth of information here and appreciate the fact that so many knowledgeable people are willing to give of their time so freely. Erny's posts are always worth reading and quite often I find myself nodding my head in agreeance but don't have quite the way with words that Erny manages to convey her messages through so I keep my fingers still. I also admire K9 for his wealth of knowledge and enjoy reading people's praise to those he has helped, yet to meet him as I was away last time he was in Melbourne but I look forward to him coming back and being able to watch and listen to him in action. It's a shame that we can't show a certain amount of respect when replying to things we don't quite agree on, we are all entitled to our own opinions but at the same time I think everyone should treat other people how they would like to be treated and it makes for much more pleasant reading. ;) Just my 2 cents worth anyway.
  15. I had a young lab pup with Demodectic Mange and used the Ivermectin in conjuction with a specialised wash, she had no problems and it cleared fairly quickly from memory around 1 month, we did have to sign a release from our vet before using it though, I have heard that some dogs can react badly to this and before giving it I would see a vet and get their opinion.
  16. Jodie fingers crossed that all the results come back with good news for Ollie. Please keep us updated and Ollie is in my thoughts and prayers.
  17. Glad to hear Rex is okay, gives you one heck of a fright doesn't it. Maybe the pork bones on top of having the runs made him swell up and feel so bad, normally if any of mine get the runs (which is very infrequent thank goodness) it is straight onto boiled lean chicken breasts and rice just to be on the safe side. ;) The lengths they will go to just to get in your bed for the night. ;)
  18. I'm so sorry for this diagnosis :p , this C word is so horrible. My thoughts are with everyone.
  19. :p Hey Erny great to see you back. Sounds like you have an exciting time ahead with your new direction. Look forward to reading all about it and of course lots and lots of photo's when your new baby does arrive.
  20. Bear is now 13 months and started cocking his leg a couple of weeks ago and doing the tilt thingy and also gets his hair on the front leg when it shoots out so fast when we first start our walk as his is very longhaired but still on the odd occasion he gets the wet tummy hair thing happening, I rub him down with a mix of woolwash and warm water, he has his own towel so a quick rub dry and a brush and good as new until the next time. (Which I may add is usually the next day ) Yes just for the heck of it, post the piccies please :p
  21. You are her saviour, she was meant to come to you.
  22. Had a bottle of Frontline Spray here left over from a previous pup and checked the label so yes the Frontline spray pump can be used on pups and kittens from 2 days old safely, you need to weigh the pup and check out the chart attached for where and how many sprays to be used.
  23. Great news Jodie and I'm sure Ollie enjoyed his visit just to say "Hi" this time instead of treatment.
  24. Ours get raw eggs twice a week in their diet.
  25. Bucket tied to a post with luggage straps from the $2.00 shop solved our problems ;)
