  1. If people who care don't make things that worry them their business, the world would be a much worse place. Two highlighted pieces here. A lot of BYBs don't care about the age of a dog: they'll breed the poor things until they drop dead. The old owners are every bit as bad as the new owner for having so little care about their dog. If the new owner has been alerted to you and knows your voice and name, can't you get a friend to do all the contact and buying on your behalf? I know you don't feel you can rescue the dog personally, but maybe if you have a big think, you could. Then have all the necessary veterinary procedures undertaken and rehome her to an Irish Setter knowedgable person.
  2. Good morning Jed. Listen woman, Autumn-Winter is the best time in Queensland and you are sleeping it away. And the candle wax we are all going through We will be arrested for causing an increase in global warming. You, your family, your amazing friends and much loved animals are constantly in our thoughts and hearts.
  3. A few years ago, I was walking the dogs and Gussy Cat was trailing along behind us. A woman who was out with her daughter on her little tricycle greeted me and said something along the lines of: oh my husband told me there was a woman who walked her dogs and her cat. She doubted him until she saw me
  4. I live in a very quiet area, but 50 metres down the road is a little group of shops one of which is a grooming palour. The husband and wife are breeders and showers of Standards and at last count I think they had about 12 or 13. They also help with rescue when they are able. So when it is time to realise your dream Blue Fox . . . . . .
  5. Good morning Jed and all your wonderful friends and family. Beautiful photographs - thank you.
  6. Thanks for the updates. First and last thing every day is to check here (and several times through the day). I wonder how the puppy who went to his new home that had already been arranged is faring?
  7. Great news. Don't give up Goosey-G. Going up and down is pretty standard really. Once the corner is turned, the downs aren't as far down and the ups are higher - LOL. The little guy has lots of healing vibes coming his way.
  8. I'd already taken Tamar, Jeune, Kisho and Danny. Sari usually comes with us, but she was stirred up and I couldn't get her lead on because she kept trying to bite me She had settled down when I returned from walking the others. And after walking Sari, I took Mufti out. He was amazing! Normally, Ijust go a few houses up the footpath and home again, but this time, he wanted to keep going and we actually went right around the block. I expected him to either keel over with a heart attack or to have to carry him home, but he bounded along like a two year old and wasn't even panting when we arrived home.
  9. I can see Jazzy strolling out with her tail held high, nose in the air and poor CK looking a bit like a stunned mullet.
  10. That's the point Golden Rules: I have six dogs Oooooh, I see! It's like you forgot to put both your shoes on then! Oh god!!! That's another story I'd rather forget ;)
  11. Oh, I know they all think I'm a bit nuts - I gave up worrying about that a long long time ago .
  12. That's the point Golden Rules: I have six dogs
  13. I was walking Sari on her own and almost home when I saw one of my neighbours walking towards me with her old Golden Retriever. I waited at my driveway for them to reach me and as she came closer she said, "It doesn't look right seeing you with only one dog."
  14. My boyfriend just sent me an email about this! apparently of his co worker suggested this to him! I probably know the co-worker as I have been sprouting on about Optrex since Nammu was a pup and that was 1993-4 - LOL
  15. That is interesting as well. I am going to try that with Mufti, because I already give him drops for dry eye, but he is chewing his feet and bottom and turning them red. Mufti loves his food, so I can't see any problem getting him to eat it either. I suppose the paste works so well because it is reduced ... as opposed to just putting raw tomatoe in their food ?? I just hate it when I see all those little Maltese, Shih Tzus and crosses thereof in the pounds with great globs of muck and staining around their eyes, poor little things. So easy to take care of.
  16. I was going to PM you about this. I have found that simple eyewash from chemist COMPLETELY cured my Maltese dogs of red stain. It is called Optrex. Buy the bottle, not the drops and just wash her eyes daily in a little bit on a cotton wool ball. My Maltese had blood red "cheeks" and after a while it was all gone. I suppose the drops would work the same, but I still use it and every so often give all the dogs a wipe over with it.
  17. Good morning, Jed. As Harminee say, another day towards healing and getting better.
  18. Look at their gorgeous blankets . That ain't no Japanese Spitz. That's a teacup, mountain climbing white bear. That really are very lovely little dogs, Vi. :D
  19. I agree with amypie Get working on convincing us properly CW :D
  20. Hmmmm, I have to confess I am a laugher at "fart" jokes, but not when they are confusing a dog . I must be getter crotchety in my old age. I watched the other one of that little dog and another and they are very clever little dogs but very skinny
  21. Oh Vi!! Such wonderful news - you must be over the moon. It is just the best when you see your dogs happily playing and you have the added joy of knowing it is helping to make Charlie better. For Nurse Emmy
  22. Good morning, Jed. Another day and another small step towards getting better. ;) Good morning, too, to all those people who are keeping her world going. Off to check that my candle is still burning.
