  1. Gosh, I wish I were perfect like some people on DOL - .
  2. It is impossible to get through to some people, because they "are going to be different" and whatever else they can think of to justify. And some just don't care about statistics and the suffering of other dogs. Can only suggest you tell her you are taking her to lunch and divert to a pound on a "PTS" day.
  3. That first photo of Badger and Ivy meeting is quite something .... should be on the wall
  4. Agree 100% with what you have said Crisovar, particularly the emboldened part. People sometimes can be too ready to condemn and not be able to see the whole picture . . . . and often respond without reading properly what OPs have said.
  5. OMG - Danny is like that. He is the Fun Police . However, in the last few days, he has started to play with Kisho and Tamar which is great to see. I honestly believe how well dogs get on has less to do with gender and more to do with individual personalities and the general ambience of the household - not quite the word I'm looking for, but can't think of the right one at the moment . I have no direct experience, but just from reading on DOL, it would appear that some breeds are more prone to same sex jealously and fighting. I had a male dog (4 years old and desexed) stay with me last Friday and the only one of my six dogs who proved a problem was ancient Mufti who was barking in visitor's face!! I had to remove Mufti from the scene a couple of times, naughty boy .
  6. ;) :p *faints from cute overload* what she said!!! Ya dags S W O O N
  7. You forgive others, though. I never had a horse, but I've always wondered and thought how difficult it must be. . I would never ever not be there for any of my pets; I simply can't imagine not holding them. Calypso died in hospital, very suddenly, and 13 years later I still remember gasping down the phone when I was rung, "But I wasn't there."
  8. You will have to keep up the updates with your gorgeous new bundle as well, b.b. Ha ha - this did make me laugh. However, I've always found it amazing that you can look at a dog covered in mud or at least with muddy legs and after a while it has dropped off to a degree.
  9. But it is a stuffed toy. No real live puppy is as cute as that - That makes me very happy and you must be absolutely over the moon, CW. Very very happy for you all. What fun that we are going to see another little DOL puppy grow up. Well done, breeder and buyer
  10. I know I will get flamed for this, but when a dog hurts a human, they are instantly put down, yet these mongrel humans get a slap on the wrist max, I want people who do these things to animals jailed, not a $1,000 fine. :D I certainly won't be in the flaming Mantis. I just don't understand it either. I am all for making these people experience a little bit of what they did to the animals. If this was indeed a deliberate dumping, I'd like whoever did it to be hosed down and then zippered into a canvas bag and left out in the night.
  11. No she didn't. Have a look again (I did ). She was pulled down because the guy grabbed the bag and she swung around. Very good boy, Tyson.
  12. Will ya just stop it, woman !!! Me teary too. What wonderful news for the Bailey Boy. Now for the girls
  13. What great news that she wants to play with Harry. I loved the description "chillaxed". I'll be using that Love the "treatment" of the photos.
  14. Oh .. that is so cute- I can see why you are upset... it's that sort of thing which makes you fall in love Very much so. Your first priority is your children (and the family as a whole) and you are doing the right thing by considering their safety. You have done the right thing by Hank as well. I agree with the others that a more mature, gentle and restrained dog is the way to go. We have to recognise what we can do and you seem to have exhausted all possibilities in trying to integrate Hank into your life. I've recently rehomed a couple of rescue dogs and although I loved them and simple adored one, I was glad to see them go, both for my sake as well and theirs. They both found wonderful homes with more people to entertain them and keep them exercised and amused. They were much too energetic for me, being only two years old. I do hope you find the four legged love of your life before too long.
  15. OT: I saw a white shepherd for the first time in the flesh today while I was out walking the dogs. Unrestrained in the back of a ute . Gone too quickly for me to get number plate. ETA: That said, I think Mya is a Husky cross, but looking at her pic made me think of the dog I saw
  16. As per my post below. Write with all the details to the CEO of the franchise organsiation. Definitely do not name. If part of a large franchise, I would go to the website, copy all the lies the print about how wonderful they are, and write to the CEO of the franchise advising that such and such a store is violating all the requirements of good animal husbandry.
  17. I agree. A rocco photograph is something special.
  18. It seems as though a few of you know this place. Can I suggest you ALL write separately to the Health Department and the Local Council and the RSPCA. It is only through joint efforts that anything will ever get done. These people must be made to stop the torture (because that is what it is) of animals.
  19. Perhaps you can also report them in writing to the Council and your State and Federal representatives.
  20. Good for you. I hope the RSPCA gets there. Poor little kittens. ;) My only concern is that the shop will be doing a frantic clean up and the kittens will have "all been sold" by the time the RSPCA gets there.
  21. You need to do a search and read some more. Spottychick is an amazing writer and an amazing dog lover. I do too. Never ever think that we don't want to hear the updates. Interesting that he and Pepper are obviously close now, but she remains very wary. That said, I tend to read with heart in mouth :nahnah:
  22. I can't remember where you live, CW. However, see the thread about asking for a vet in the Hornsby area. Several suggestions including a vet at Epping which may be closer to you. I'm pretty sure Animal Tracks at Homebush would desex. Concord Animal Hospital opposite the West Concord train station.
  23. I have read, K9A, that you never ask a child to pick what he/she wants to wear :p . Great photos as always. What a wonderful play pen you have for the trio. No wonder Phil didn't get far
