  1. no probs...that was one of the less graphic images I could find...
  2. Found this on the net...might help you a bit.
  3. No worries...have read most of your posts and you seem to be fairly understanding, but some posts can be taken the wrong way. It's the fault of the English language...too many ambiguous words... ETA: Kazzakanary - Don't worry too much that you didn't notice it before, just make sure you act on it now.
  4. TerrorBull did not mean anything nasty by her reply. Have you taken her to the vets since you bought her? I would call the emergency vet again and would insist that she was seen tonight! Some pups do not openly disply that they're in pain. Besides if it turns out to be nothing, so be it. But if it is something bad, would you want to delay it any longer? It's already been two weeks or thereabouts.
  5. I agree! She should have said something the first time you had her checked. Did you have her checked out when you first got her?? ETA: I'd insist on her being seen straight away!
  6. Looks like a blockage to me...can be quite painful for the pup... She will probably need a catheter, if they do that for females?
  7. I understand what you mean...but aren't dogs about 6 months old when they first go on heat??
  8. If it's from where she wees it could be a blockage...my male cat gets them fairly often. We think he eats the crystal kitty litter... ETA: by blockage I mean a urinary tract infection.
  9. TB are you thinking she may be older? or younger?? because you'd be able to ttell if she was closer to 6 months wouldn't you? ETA: Take her to the vet ASAP!!! it's so important!
  10. Cool, thanks all. Will be down the store later so I will have a look... I was also wondering this... KitKat - Might try it on the weeds, they seem to be taking over lately... :D Ellz - Good idea, I'll have a look there too and see how prices differ
  11. Oh, Thanks so much. I live in a country area, so I'm not sure that I'll be able to find it in a store, any suggestions for online?
  12. I've heard heaps of people suggesting this for all sorts of cures and preventions...my question is, where can you get it? I'm guessing local supermarket, where would it be if so?
  13. When talking to my local vets...I had two of them suggest only two and the third is optional and the third insisted on the third vaccine as well... So it is up to you and what your vet does. personally, Bella will only be having the first two. ie, 6 week and 12 week
  14. Hi, can't help with the doggy clipping thing, but I do my OH's hair...probably would clip my own dog if I could find out how to and if I wanted to...
  15. Perhaps leashing the pup to you would help. Especially if you can't keep her out of the food preparation area (kitchen?) whilst doing so. Leashing her to you will mean that she is always near you and you can watch what she can get to. Also, you can make sure that anything that you don't want her to get, is put up or in a cupboard away from her. It is your responsibility to make sure she can't get these things.
  16. At the risk of getting you I thought you weren't meant to give a pup a can bed b/c it was dangerous to the roof of their mouth as it could splinter?
  17. Definitely posting pics as soon as she gets home, if not before!!! I hope everything turns out ok with your search P.S Toy Poodles are sooo cute!!
  18. This is the pic...hope it works now. P.S the pic still shows up for me
  19. That's why I chose the cardboard box...so it was inexpensive to replace :p Oh well, if that's the worst of my worries, I'll be more than happy ;) Edited for brain fry
  20. Toy poodles are very cute, but have you been informed of the amount of maintenance required by them? I don't mean to sound nasty, but they need a lot of work and from what I hear, need a lot of mental stimulation. The medium-sized crate would probably suit a mini poodle from 8 weeks to fully grown. (I got mine off ebay, PM me if you would like details). I'll describe my image for you. It's a wire crate with a cardboard box in the front filled with blankets and an old pillow. In the back, there's a tray full of the things I'll need when the pup arrives (brush, comb, shampoo, nail clippers, collar, lead, dish etc.) There's a second box on the top of the crate with a handmade wollen blanket () in it that has all four sides so that she can't escape whilst travelling home. I say all four sides, because the one in the crate has had the front cut out of it so she can climb in and out...
  21. This is the setup of my crate (well, Bella's anyway ) The box on top is the onw that I'll use when I pick her up and the blanket is one that I knitted for her myself and will leave with the breeder to get the home smell on it.
  22. Hi Curious, I'm also about to be a first time puppy owner and I've bout myself a crate. I looked at the pens also, but agree with Bikle when she says "3 - It looks rediculous in the main areas of the house. A crate is smaller and can become a more permanent fixture." Also, I find it easier to put in the car (hatchback). I am getting a Cavalier pup and I've bought a Medium-sized crate. Whilst this is much too big for a puppy of this size, I have it set up so that she has her bed in one end and no access to the other end until she is bigger (and housebroken). Will post a pic later to demonstrate. The medium-sized crate will also be big enough for her when she is fully grown. Any ideas on what sort of pup you'll be wanting?
  23. First of all, is he an inside dog or outside dog? I see that you wrote he's outside, but it this all the time? What breed of pup is he? Both of these questions will help more people know how to help you, even if it's not breed specific advice. Some breeds are bred specifically as companion animals an hate to be away from their people. Did you try getting the pup used to being alone before going back to work? Have you thought about using a crate to train "alone" time? Any other info you can give will be very helpful. Including how long you work for each day...
  24. Your new baby is gorgeous! I didn't think corgis were that cute (excluding yours Bikle ) Just mustn't have seen the right ones :D
  25. I also graded these: Advance Growth Puppy - 74, D Eukanuba Small Breed Puppy - 92, B Science Diet Original Puppy - 77, D Hope that helps any people with young pups...
