LOL I will do CD with Varda and might try training her for Open, although she isn't the most enthusiastic at trials and it will definitely only be night trials for her LOL. Banjo will hopefully debut in CCD soon and if my life ever settles I will get my butt into gear to have some lessons with Bedazzled like I keep talking about and we will see how far he can go ;) But I can't see obedience being higher on the priority list than agility and the horses

Thanks guys I was just happy to get the final pass with both of them so to get the scores/placings was a real bonus I think Abbey was a bit confused when we went into the ring and there were no jumps though - we lost the points on our first halt when I stopped and she took a couple of extra steps then swung towards me and sat I think I might steal her for Rally-O next year ;)

Monday And Arab Derivatives are the same day ;) Although I will have Nova there not Raven Hopefully Raven will have her turn next year Oh and corgi puppies are so very very cute

Does anyone know the rules for WA? I have tried to find it but can't.
-
Wow, that is a great achievement
-
Bugger, I am on at 8:45am. Will come for a visit afterwards though My "pony" is actually a tall Anglo Arab filly - so I will be where ever they decide to put the Arabs/Arab Derivatives. We don't find out until the day Oh and I had to at his seek back :D That would be one for the video camera

No excuses - it is next to the showing arena not on it But you will have had agility dogs all over it the two days prior and kiddy rides right next door :D Any idea what time you guys are on? I am showing a pony that day so might come and watch if it doesn't clash Will send lots of "Good Aussie" vibes Brooky's way though Well done again Ptolomy, Scoota is a star In fact all you lot who are attempting UDX are stars even if your dogs are finding new and ingenious ways to fail
-
Well done to Booker and Jerry on their BIG wins I can't wait to have a baby in the ring again :D Won't be long although it is hard not being able to train them very much since I don't own either

I was in a tshirt when trialling - didn't have the alcohol to keep me warm though All of the WA DOLers who competed on Saturday night had something to brag about I don't post in here very often but thought I needed to add my brag for the weekend :D First up I had my Finnish Lapphund Varda in CCD and my lovely girl Qed in 2nd place gaining her title in 4 trials (she told me quite convincingly that she will NOT trial during the day as it is too hot ) Then I ended up trailing my friend's Aussie Shepherd, Abbey, in CD as she wasn't able to come at the last minute. Abbey is my agility dog and we have a great relationship with that - but I do very little obedience with her, and signal slightly differently to her owner. Abbey has been sitting on 2 passes for a while, failing something different each time, so we just went out for fun since it didn't matter what we did. Well you could have knocked me over as we WON with a score of 198! So had a mad dash to get her for the Winners of Winners as I wasn't expecting her to have given the quality of dogs/handlers we were against. Stuffed up some auto-sits in the WoW but since we had gone in with no prep I was still very very happy with her :D And I think her owner was stunned when we told her So I can safely say I had a great night at my very first WA State Obedience Trial and my first time in CD Although I still say that agility is much less scary than obedience

There is also herding Some of the sports such as herding and retrieving require your dog to be from breeds that were originally developed for these sports.

Well it takes me a while to get home so longer to post brags! Varda much prefers night time trials and now has her CCD title and was 2nd :D I ended up handling Abbey since J couldn't make it down and somehow we managed to not only pass and earn her CD title but we WON CD! Not bad given that I do agility with her not obedience :p Stuffed up in the WoW since 1) I had no idea we has won since I hadn't looked at scores so it was a bit if a rush and 2) I had no idea what I was doing! I still think agility is much less stressful than obedience too  I think all the DOLers there tonight had something to brag about And biggest congratulation to Ptolomy!
-
Mason, you are going still tonight aren't you? Come on... I will be doing CD with a dog that I don't do obedience with Jeanette needs to stay home and look after a baby puppy who isn't feeding well so she can't go.

Group 6 is still split as well isn't it? I wonder why they get the short straw every year. But the split of gundogs into do many is strange. I wouldn't mind if we were split like other States with Group on the last day Although does make it hard for handlers.
-
Oops sorry Showdog, I did mean to put a sarcasm emoticon in there I am so glad it wasn't Working Dogs!
-
Lucky Gundog people having their breeds split so much. Friesians are on in the main arena if you like big black war horses
-
Are you allowed to enter Baby puppies with registration numbers pending? We have a few new babies in WA I would love to see shown at the end of October. Entries close on the 3rd October though and I doubt either litter will have all the paperwork back by then!
-
I was going to go and help a friend on that day with her horse but she now has to work. Still might go to look around. Why?
-
Looking at the catalogue it appears I am doing CD with Abbey Wonder if Jeanette knows? Also Jenna is on straight after Varda and I I think we will need to see if we can swap coz I don't know how Jenna would cope with me walking past just as she is starting. Unless of course Maureen keeps her right away from the entrance as I leave... Hmm, wonder if OzJen gets both her guys through and Varda actually passes if I can do the stays for both Varda and Jenna at the same time? ;)

So all the dogs who aren't shortlisted are rubbish? Sorry, that is not how I see it. All the dogs who are not shortlisted are not dogs who the judge is considering for BIG, same as when the judge only runs out a few dogs and leave you standing in line if your dog is not their type. Nothing more, nothing less. And given how long some judges take to award I am quite happy to go when the judge isn't considering me anyway! My dogs are not robots who will stand for hours on end without getting bored

Lappy puppys are great to cuddle I got to have cuddles from Taavi and his sister Lumi on Sunday and then from Anikka yesterday :D Can't wait until I get my own - although it will live at my parents' so they will get to do the toilet runs
