  1. I agree with you PF. I've met some lovely ACDs very sweet natured and well socialised. However, where we live we have a family who are living as though they are on a farm in the town as their property is so large they have horses in their backyard and have multiple dogs. Last count they have 4 jack russells type dogs and 4 ACDs. Unfortunately they allow the dogs to run loose around the streets causing havoc, with the adult female ACD being extremely aggressive in that she has bitten their kids, nipped me and goes after every dog and person that walks past the property. People have complained and in the evening they lock the dogs in the backyard, but then they are running around during the day when most people are out and about. Oh, and they bred from her and now she has two pups runnning with her (both females, of course) and are learning how to behave from her. The pups started out as sweet but are now starting to copy her behaviour in that they are chasing after people and snapping and growling. All very dangerous. Idiots.
  2. Let's face it, most of the little bunnykins going to one of those places would probably not know how to walk on all fours - from either being carried around like little babies or being carried in little doggy bags. I'm sure Paris Hilton and the like would love it.
  3. Love the story, we should have more. Thank goodness, Conan found his heart home.
  4. Oh my goodness. What a terrifying ordeal for the baby, my heart goes out to her. And I feel so sorry for the poor parents, what an awful, terrible thing to have happened, poor parents having to live with that event.
  5. Oh my god! Who would do something so sick and horrible? Poor horse and poor owner.
  6. You know you're a crazy dog owner when your screensaver and desktop photos aren't of your nieces or nephews, but your dog. You also know when people buy gifts for your dogs at Christmas time or celebrate 'Father's Day' or 'Mother's Day'.
  7. This is such a distressing story, I don't even know what to say. Sometimes I think the judicial system needs to be change to an eye for an eye...perhaps if this guy was beaten around the head with a hammer he may realise what a horrible person he is to have put his loyal dog through this. And I say loyal as nowhere does it say in the story that the dog fought back. :D
  8. I just came in to catch up on what's been happening and as others have already said, you are an amazing woman Jed. :D
  9. The trainer was pretty lucky, but I'm not surprised the lion attacked considering how many times it was poked...
  10. And also, can't someone technically say they are 'Registered' if they are a registered business? So maybe that's how they are getting through the loop hole.
  11. Awww, she is adorable and as is Lottie. I don't think she should leave your place - ever - as the two look so compatible.
  12. Hello Nik - love your signature block, can you do one for me too?
  13. He looks gorgeous. Fingers crossed that everything works out well.
  14. For me in no particular order except for the first breed, my pick would be: 1. Field Spaniel 2. Cavalier 3. Golden Retriever 4. English Springer 5. Sussex Spaniel 6. Clumber 7. Welsh Springer 8. Bernese 9. Leonberger 10. Cocker Spaniel

    Gherkin

Sorry to read about Gherkin - she sounded like quite a character. Hugs to you and your family in this heartbreaking time.
  16. Ewww. And what did he think he was going to do if he suceeded?
  17. The dogs haven't yet gone all night without a meal, but it has come close. One night we went and visited friends and stayed longer than we meant, and when we got home at 2am, we realised the poor dogs hadn't been fed! I have dreams about forgetting to feed the dogs!
  18. I've got no idea on what her mix is. It's also hard to tell with her lying down and not knowing body shape or size...she is very pretty though.
  19. I agree. I'm all for inspections and from personal experience, highly recommend them, but as a client I prefer appointments to be made especially if the kennels are away from the office - I wouldn't want a stranger around our dogs (or other dogs for that matter).
  20. Our Field Spaniel had a terrible crusty nose and it looked very sore. We were applying vaseline to it and nothing worked until someone on here mentioned Paw Paw ointment and voila! A miracle!
  21. Poor baby. Although her stitches look quite nice and lovely, my girl had a terrible wound! (Not done by our normal vet.)
  22. Hello all. My sister is desperately looking for a place to rent with her little mini poodle. She had a great place until she met a guy and then moved in with him, only for that relationship to end...now she doesn't have a place to rent with her little mate. (Her dog is currently with my parents.) Is there anyone here who knows of anyone looking to share a house with a professional woman and her sweet and friendly little dog? Or does anyone have any ideas what she can do? Thanks.
