  1. Maybe the unreg breeders were just like us a few years ago...why would we not cross the line where there is no back flack or critisism for what we breed by a judge, or fellow breeder, I still wouldnt make anymore money but I would be happier.... hmmmmm.
  2. I havent got my numbers yet but is anyone else going? Even more cramped than Kyneton but usually quiet nice under the trees. eta...got my numbers today.. group 1 1-125 group 2 126-191 group 3 192-313 group 4 314-403 group 5 404-493 group 6 494-632 group 7 633-718
  3. I will have to pop over from ring one and say hello....what will you be wearing? Not sure ATM lol. But my polar fleece has my prefix on it We have Border Terriers and a sable and white collie smooth and will be with a black & white Lowchen so not hard to miss easier for you to spot us than trying to workout who is who in the pugs Can't even tell you which ring we will be at yet. LOL too hot for a polar fleece, but I saw you in the gazebo near my car....I was going to say hello after Pugs but by that time I was hot and shitty cos it was hot and I am all sunburnt. And to think in the winter Qld was looking good...no way!. Lol next time! How did you go? I was so cranky this morning when we rocked up at 8 and there was really nowhere for the gazebo- honestly as much as I love this show I don't know if I'll be back next year, it was ridiculous how crowded it was, there used to be gazebo space between the rings???!!! And to have cars etc parked behind 1 row of gazebos was crappy. Dangerous, unfair and annoying for those who got there early and wanted to leave early! Definitely agree they are giving us less and less space..... Obs I didn't watch Group 5 specials but the blue Sheltie with the large black patch (sorry crappy description lol) got I think Aus bred in group, maybe RUIG? I totally agree though that each year is less and less room....last year was the same set out of rings but the years before that the rings were long ways which at least gave more room.

I was a LOSER which prolly added to the shittyness....but i havent shown for ages cos the last time I went down the park I bought home Kennel Cough which went through everyone. I tried to look for Lilli, but I dont think she was there....but I did see an adult Pyreneese and a baby in a Van with a blonde lady and thought Ooooh is that a DOLer lol.

  6. Seriously - Are you going to make us do this on our own? (hand up)
  7. If you need an extra I am free...I have been both sides of the equation, renter and landlord....with animals.
  8. I will have to pop over from ring one and say hello....what will you be wearing?
  9. In my last litter I only got one survivor, she is now 6 weeks old....and I googled Fading Puppy Syndrome....and found a site and it explained exactly what was happening to my puppy, same as your puppy. It reccommended Karo Syrup dropped straight on their tongue...and I happened to have bought some from Kerry at Whelping supplies because of Lisa aka Andisa re Puppy milk recipe. So that gave her energy for inbetween feeds.
  10. Yeah lol they wouldnt get a Pug from me....I can and will be fussy where my puppies go, whats wrong with that....yuppies that drive fancy cars and live in Brighton....they arent about to DUMP their Pugglet. What an elitist snobbish attitude to dare judge someone by the postcode they happen to live in . My suburb is under Blacktown Council and my postcode is 2147 and I bet I provide a better home and environment for my pampered pooches and am a much more responsible owner than your yuppie snobs in Brighton :D . Blacktown is the largest growing area in Sydney and there are a lot of young families here and I think it is absolutely terrible that they would not get a look in at a pup from Breeders like yourselves that are so judgemental with elitist snobby attitudes I dont sell my puppies to families with only small children....they drop pug puppies....and I dont sell puppies to families that already have a large dog. I can list all the reasons and give examples if you like and I can also get all the figures and facts of Pugs that end up in rescue. Call me a snob, I dont sell to the masses and I dont have to.....as I have said before I dont have that many litters....let the Pug breeders that have litters on the ground all the time sell to the masses. So going by you post- if someone happens to reside in a particular postcode, they are relegated to only buying puppies from dodgy breeders??? Wow. With an attitude like yours it's no wonder Pugs are so popular in the BYB market. Yes you can sell to whoever you like but the way you are coming across sounds extremely snobby and judgmental rather than being concerned about the welfare of your puppies. Why will you not sell to someone with a larger dog? What happens if they get a larger dog later on? This forum never ceases to amaze me....I make one statement and you have all run with it like mad women and now I am a snobbest elitist ;) that is so effing funny. Now if I had said that I breed all the time and have 3 litters on the ground at all times and I sell to anyone, renters, dole bludgers, potential bybers simp;y cos they live in Melton, you name I dont discrimate....what would you have said then????? Say things as it is...dont pussy foot around. I put a great deal of time into each and every mating be blowed if I am going to sell them to just anyone. I fostered a black pug that was extremely food aggressive cos the Lab he lived with in the backyard would bully him away from his food and eat his too....owners didnt care or supervise...surrender the viscous Pug, yeah right...the poor thing was starving and they didnt care. So thats why I wont sell to someone that has a big dog....specially if there is no one home during the day.
  11. This is all being discussed in the dumping thread.....the economic standings of a family/suburb do directly correlate to the dumping rates. Yes they do dump their dogs in Brighton but statistics will show that the dumping rate will be much lower in that area than lets say a suburb of housing commission...and thats not a slant on housing commission area as I grew up in one many years and generations ago.

  14. Its called selling to the right postcodes.....if I dont like the way they sound on the phone then they dont get to come to my property to see the puppy.
  15. An ultrasound will show you heartbeats, which is nice to see....and they can give you a guesstamet on puppies.
  16. Off topic...sitting at the vets and watch a greyhound trainer come in with the most gorgeous greyhounds on leads and fills out paperwork, and ticks the box....failure to something I cant remember equates to "not the one that I will be a millionare on "....and they are taken out the back to be put to sleep....some trainers are too gutless and leave the dogs out the back and they come in the front.
  17. So would I. There is no way I would let a stranger into my home to determine whether or not I am a good dog owner. edit for clarity - ofcourse if I've built up a bond with a breeder over a period of time with the purposes of buying a pup they wouldnt be a stranger (but they'd know me well enough by then not to need to do a home check I would think) but if eg they lived interstate and made a request on a forum for any tom dick or harry to come through my home, I probably would no longer be interested in buying a pup from them anyway I wouldnt...I would think of the puppy being bred or puppy farmed to replace the sold one and I just couldnt do it.
  18. That PUGS CAN RUN with the best of them and NOT DROP DEAD cos they cant breathe. ♥
  19. Thats the only way it would work....I cant see pet shop owners liking that though, they would be losing out on $'s. That is not totally correct I have offered myself and I am sure other non puppy selling shops would too, but it makes it hard when there is always pet shop bashing going on. I would prefer $$ made on product sales resulting in puppy owners buying from reputable sources and making a long lasting business/customer relationship rather than a quick buck on a puppy sale. There is much more to consider before any such scheme would work including defining ethical registered breeders from the non ethical ones also as the pet shops that would do this would be putting their business reputation into the hands of the breeders that they recommend. For example you recommend B Smith as a Breeder, your customer buys a pup from them, the pup has health issues or there are problems with paperwork (whatever). Now your customer could now partially blame you for your recommendation and you lose a customer but the breeder got a puppy sale. Businesses should be built on reputation and customer service and they rely on repeat customers moreso than a Breeder who may sell one puppy to a particular person in a lifetime, or if lucky maybe 2 or so but they don't rely on them to come back. Pet Shops could be an invaluable way of getting Registered Breeders/pure bred dogs more visiblity in the Community but neither can have it both ways, they have to work together and with the history between the two that would be a big ask for either side. Isnt the Pet shop bashing only on the Pet shops that sell live animals? For non=animal petshops it could work straight away...customers could take flyers and cards etc home with them. But you would never get a non-ethical breeder admitting to being non-ethical and as you say it is the pet shops reputation on the line too. I personally get a lot of repeat business as Pugs are like Potatoe Chips you cant just stop at one. ;)

  21. I think firstly you need to determine if pet shops are as bad as claimed and if it really makes any difference to the life of the dog sold. Bybers appear to be selling far more dogs than registered breeders or pet shops and far more dogs with health issues and to the wrong home. If any one area is a threat to purebred dogs it is this area. Many of the arguments against pet shops simply do not hold up. Strip back dogs and dog onwership to the bare basics and throw away the arguments that are simply repeated again and again but do not make sense or are simply untrue. I totally agree with Anne we need to find out for what reason Joe Public is prepared to part with MORE money than what a pure bred would cost from a registered breeder as well as NO PED CERT....WHY do they do that Not enough promotion of Pure Bred dogs? BYBer ads easier to find in papers and on supermarket ad boards?
