I live in a country town, but we have big woolies and Foodland all in the same complex. Ive seen dogs tied up looking very frightened and shaking. Ive seen people go up to them to pat them, too bad if the dog is snappy. I once was sitting with Joey and Renae out the front of a cafe, and this strange man came up and pushed his icecream in Renae's face (he meant for her to lick it), was weird ! Too bad if people like him should do something like that to dogs that don't even have their owners around!

My house smells at the best of times as we have multiple pets Of course i do try to keep it clean and freshen it up often. we dont really smell it but im sure others who come here do eeek! Luckily we don't have visitors often. I know what you mean re puppy smells dogsforjane, altho im really enjoying that smell. Her wee's aren't that strong smelling ( well i dont think so lol) I make sure i keep the windows open during the day if the weather is nice.. I also use bleach on our tiles floors ( well diluted with hot water) Bleach is one of the very few chemicals I actually dont react too! I dont like to use too many candles and air freshners as i have fibro and chemical smells can affect me badly At night we bring our lovebirds inside and our bunny and i don't want them being affected by too many chemicals. If we have visitors coming around (which i do appreciate if they let us know first) i will put some of that pet foam spray- No Vac (http://www.novac.com.au/novac/pet.php) on the sofas and open windows and mops floors. Our kitty litter tray is inside (kept in the bathroom) and i use that kitty litter crystals stuff (with bi carb powder on the base of the tray) which absorbs smells heaps. I use very small amounts of vanilla spray too when im cleaning around the house :)

Ok heres another one, she is obsessed with anything to do with cameras. Her breeder is into photography as well, but Miah was the one most interested (out of all her puppies) in her camera bags, straps etc lol

very well Sujo, shes very confident atm ! Thank you :) Thanks dogsforjane. First night was too good to be true lol She only cried for a couple mins and fell asleep (just after 10pm) and hubby let her out at 2am for her to go outside (she hadn't been crying but was bit restless) and then she slept till about 5.30am ! :) But she did have a big day yesterday and a fair long drive here with her breeder and im thinking thats why she was slept so well through the night. Will be interesting to see how she goes tonight ! ;-) I haven't even had a lot of time to do her latest blog post ! lol Im on the net when she's having her little naps :) Ps, whose next to get their puppies ??? arn't two of you getting yours on Valentine day??

Everyone ! She's everything I expected and more ! :) Shes already very cheeky and outgoing , I have heard Tri colours can be a bit more cheeky lol I thought she might have fretted a bit but shes doing very well in her new environment :)

Hi Mel :) When i first read your post, I thought like some of the others, maybe theres a genuine reason why the breeder hasn't been in contact with you. Its always best to give everyone the benefit of doubt at first but its not looking too good I had also wondered like some of the other posters, if something had happened to her on her flight to your place. And every dog is different with the settling in period. It does sound a bit extreme tho going by what you have written. I hope you hear from her breeder soon! Does she belong to a breed club where you could try to ask them if shes around the place? The breeders of our Cavs are very much a part of our lives and we are even friends with them on fb :) The breeder of our newest cav puppy has said even if we are worried about something (to do with Miah) even at 2am in the morning we are welcome to call her up! :)

Well Miah is finally living with us, her breeder brought her up to us yesterday :) Shes settling in very nicely, slept last night really good, just had the initial few mins of crying but fell asleep fairly quickly. Has been a good girl and been outside for a few wees and number 2's. Theres been a few accidents inside but thats to be expected. We have tiles so its easier enough to clean up. Joey and Renae arn't fussing over her, but they are getting older and Renae hasn't been well, but they are very accepting of her. Miah has wanted to be friends with the cats, but they don't with her lol so we have to keep a careful watch over her when shes near the cats. She eats like a typical cavalier, no issues there lol Im not used to her energy levels tho! Shes very cheeky and independent ! Defiantly no signs of shyness! ;-)

Thanks Rach !! she must be feeling pretty confident already as shes already biting my skirt/sandals/feet eeekkk and her little teeth are so sharp! and shes taken over J and R's crate already I thought she would be shy for a couple days at least lol Shes no shrinking wall flower thats for sure ! ps.. when shes been biting me playfully, ive grabbed one of her toys and started distracting her with them :)
