  1. Zomg SO CUTE! and cheeky :)
  2. You are welcome WL, great to hear it worked well :)
  3. Thanks Kavik! My main goal by the time she is six months old is to have a pup that could switch into drive and give me great focus and engagement in any location, under any distraction. She's 4 months old in a week and we have that pretty nailed already, so I am really delighted with her progress! I am actually teaching her more 'things' now than I thought I might (like heel work, fronts, positions etc) as she needs more to do. Training pups is the best fun ever :D
  4. It will either go darker or lighter, I am hoping it stays darker :D
  5. Daisy almost never smiles, so I really treasure photos where she is grinning  I can't wait to see how she matures too. I hope she takes after her mumma in size.
  6. Definitely a very impressive score! I know right. They are a bit outrageous!
  7. Also for anyone interested in the training side of it. Blaze's dad gained his PH1 KNPV title in the Netherlands last week. The KNPV is the Royal Dutch Police Services testing and selection process. The PH1 Certificate stands for Politiehond 1 or Police Dog 1. Idefix scored 434/435, he is a really super dog! Here is a snippet from the trial;
  8. He is the cutest puppy ever! OMG!
  9. Thanks DD! She is quite leggy at the moment. She still needs to grow into her ears too  she is growing up so fast, and so beautifully. :) I really love the pic of her on the log, I am thinking about printing it on canvas to hang in my house.
  10. Thanks WL! We did a photoshoot with Blaze on Friday, I thought I would share some of the pics, I LOVE them! :)
  11. Thanks Shakti! I'll PM you some more :)
  12. I use my judgement. We let pups walk on a harness and leash and I train mine in many different places. ETA: here's an example of my pup at 10 weeks out at a local shopping centre.
  13. Yes that is correct but he is getting plenty of socialization here as there is 5 adults and 1 3 year old, A whippet,a chihuahua and another golden retriever to play with. Once his had all his vaccinations he will be attending obedience. For people who don't have other people or dogs in there home I will surguest to take them to puppy school which can be done as soon as you bring puppy home I think as they will only acept puppies that have had there first vaccination, Socialization is about much much more than dogs being exposed to other dogs. If you are keeping him at home he most definitely not getting plenty of socialization, or near to it. I take my pups out from day one, we aim for a new experience every day.
  14. I wouldn't take a pup to the MPW but IME you have a much higher risk of developing severe behavior problems not socializing your pup until 4/5 months than you do getting parvo.
  15. Hey Lisa I would probably teach it on another surface/target first, that is a similar height/width and make sure that's super proficient on command (including testing it on different objects). Then I would transfer that to my feet.
  16. Oh that sucks! I always make sure I am not right next to the ring when I train my dogs at trials, but I did notice playing the video back that some of the dogs hanging around with the handlers were a bit distracted by us training. We have our own training team so I don't need to go to classes or a club for regular distraction training, we like making distraction hard for each other, so no one frowns :D lol :) Thanks Roova! She is really pretty (IMO lol) I hope she keeps her darker colouring. Most of the people who do our online courses (which are full at the moment unfortunately) are new to TID, so it is definitely suitable for any skill level. The most important thing is your level of commitment to training.
  17. We also went to an obedience trial for the first time on the weekend, Blaze had a great time and did some nice work under distraction for me :) She worked great for food and toys, so really happy with how she went in a new and distracting environment.
  18. Thanks Grumpette :D I use a different (flat) platform for REA training, the tubs we tend to use to introduce pups to send away/stay exercises. Here's a short clip of Blaze from a couple of weeks ago doing some tub work; The only issue I encountered was that at one point she tried to turn the tub into a prey item and instead of standing on it pushed it around the room trying to bite it...
  19. Thought you guys might like these pics. A couple of shots from a training session on Sunday, Mumma Wiz and Puppy Blaze!
  20. Hi WL As I mentioned on the phone, we recommend sending a weekly update to Steve. This is really important so he can stay up to date on your progress and make any adjustments to your training program. You can of course email him more frequently but we find it works more efficiently for most owners to send a weekly update. There is no limit to how many emails you can send, it is just more practical to send a weekly email rather than daily ones :) As Steve is in consults with other owners all day 6 days a week it would also be near impossible to reply to every client on a daily basis if every one sent an email each day which is also why we recommend weekly rather than daily updates. ETA: I will be in the office most of the day today so feel free to give me another call if you have any other questions :)
  21. Does he have a command to go into his crate? If he wakes you up during the night will he go back into the crate on command? At 1 he's definitely old enough to hold it through the night too - my puppy at 10 weeks could hold it overnight. I definitely wouldn't be toileting him overnight at this age.
  22. That could only be Daisy... Snap! :D However did you guess!!! Lol she's a bloody criminal.
  23. A loaf of sourdough bread Packet of strawberry and cream lollies A whole slab of raw pastry Raw chillies A Boston bun (one of those huge iced buns from the bakery) A tray of lamingtons Donuts She really likes baked goods
