Agility Clubs In Sydney
Maverick replied to DeltaCharlie's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I know of a lovely lady who does agility with her Amstaff.. She competes and her dog is lovely. She does tend to keep her bitch away from the others due to ignorance but as far as I am aware, she has not had any problems at trials. Is the instructor at Springwood an agility person ? If so, could you please pm me -
I can't believe this has been pulled out of the archives Still love to watch him run... he definately is a character. Tells me off if I do something wrong.

When I picked up Vienna, she was not at all interested in the toys I gave all the puppies.. more interested in me. But when I got her home, I found her to be totally toy obessed. Very high drive and loves tug and retrieve. I have her waiting for the 'Get it' cue to run and get her toy, to tug.

We have a couple of the Caninebodyworks tugs.. they are fantastic

Hi I know of at least one who loves Flyball and quite a few who do obedience.. I have been pestered by quite a few GSP people to start my guys in Gundog Working Tests.. all I have to do is teach them the retrieve and then I will start competing. Well, you know how much my guys love agility.. at Manly Dog club we have currently 8 Cocker spaniels in training at agility.

What Age Do Pups Start In Agility?
Maverick replied to ashan's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Its up to you. All the dogs are on lead most of the time except when running a course. If he is not good around dogs at the moment, it might be a bit too much for him to take in, so leave him at home at this stage. -

We are going! can't wait... Its a 5 1/2 hr drive for us but it is such a great weekend away that we don't mind.. That said, we did travel over to SA for the ANKC agility nationals :D
-
the stay one :D :D That is sooo me and Maverick.. Just ask me how I fixed my stays. I blew nearly all of my runs at the Nationals because Maverick kept breaking his stays.
-
OMG! That is wonderful Vickie  you heaps and heaps of I love Shine's face. She would have been pulling that face when I ran Maverick in the Masters agility.. stupid me sent him the tunnel instead over the jump after the weaves.
-
A brag for me.. My old girl Mai (Kistenwales Ice Maiden ADX JDX GD) got another Masters Jumping pass. It was an extremely tough course with only 5 passes. She got 4th!
-
Sam, you should be proud. What an achievement.. Hopefully we will see you Sunday!
-
Congrats Ness! Sounds like you had a blinder! Vicki, We were in Excellent for almost 12 months :D again, got close a few times and I thought I was going to be a one fault wonder for a while.

I have a brag but it was a couple of weeks ago.. Maverick got his ADX at Hawkesbury Tuesday night trial and on Saturday we had our first run in Masters with only 2 faults (handler error ie knocked bar/refusal) so I was really really pleased. Also, at ADAA a couple of weeks ago, Maverick got his first Advanced/International pass. To get this pass, you have to go around a course that is harder and faster than Masters and win the ring.

I know of a lady who got a cocker hair in her nipple and it got infected as she didn't notice it.. So be careful ladies. I always have a shower after clipping.
-
Another one is .. have a rock solid stay and a release word. You must have this before you even look at equipment. Alot of the problems I have with Maverick is that he is unsure of the release word and I never taught it until now.
-
I sure am Vickie I haven't put in Maverick's title for SPD as yet so we may have some fun putting Mai and Maverick in together again. Last time we were out on course for 2 mins :p
