  1. ohh I sort of like that one! Need to make peace with the geckos though!
  2. You know the FIRST colour I gravitated to was Sunny Pastels!!!! Hmm Envious Hearts and Peace Palz could work on him.................................. What site did you buy them at again C?
  3. So many purple lovers out there! Well I have decided maybe a dark purple or a nice shade of some sort of green. Now I just need to find something I like! Bitty's collars came in today and they are so pretty! I am such a sucker for flowers and pretty pinky colours! Its just boring to try and dress Bubby!!!! I am always headed towards flowery stuff! ETA: Becks OH is a fan of brown on the goldens too. http://waggle.com.au/up-country-b17/urban-...og-collars-p244 Lush Paisley looks fantastic on Bitty!
  4. Oh dear, I think you may have crossed the line there Maybe a little If you think that's bad, you should see him lately. He's gone so far beyond the line, he can't even remember where it used to be I think he carries it off superbly itsmeg!
  5. I am always worried the leather will be hard on his neck I think dark green will look lovely on him! Now that I have a girl, I can probably stop forcing him to wear girly colours! :D
  6. ohh I do like the sound of green. I bought him a brown collar with pink bones on it and everyone thinks he's a girl in it and I am like "Its BROWN!!!!"
  7. Cool! I want to get him this: http://www.worldforpets.com.au/products/pr...tail.asp?ID=821 or is this more manly: http://www.worldforpets.com.au/products/pr...tail.asp?ID=817
  8. Have ordered some really pretty collar and lead sets for Bitty. Flowers and much pinkness for my baby girl (her daddy doesn't like her in anything other than pinks and yellows) Feeling bad about Bubby so want to buy him some as well. Can he wear purple? What colours do you think would look nice? Blue doesnt suit his shade of mid golden fur I find. Suggestions please!!!!!
  9. My suggestion (and I swear by this since I raised a crazy active puppy with a destruction history of 6 tissues only): Morning: 10 min clicker training 45 min walk/exercise session 10 min clicker training after walk Make "contraptions" for the dog with paper tubes, paper boxes, fozen plastic cups with yoghurt and fruit in it with peanut butter smeared on the sides, iceblocks with frozen chicken wings in the middle of the block My dog gets 5 contraptions every mornig and will cry for me to leave work because she sees me prepare these and gets excited! Plant a dog friendly plant patch for the dog. Bury bones and goodies in it! Pup will have so much fun destructing the patch! Mine did! Everyday she had her little bum sticking out of it as she dwelved in and adjusted her patch! Leave dog with all these goodies and see if how he copes After work: walk/exercise session clicker training games of fetch bit more clicker training after dinner grooming I swear by the fact that if a dog is kept occupied and has never learnt bad habits it will never develop them! My puppy used to be so worn out by the time I left for work she never could get up to much mischief! When we came home she was forced into a flurry of activity so didnt have time to wreak havoc then either. Also would your sister be open to training while she is doing chores etc? I used to practice stays and "sit on mat" when I was cooking dinner and OH would do same while he was juggling the laundry or vacuuming. We found that if this is drilled into them, they will default to these behaviours when left on their own.
  10. If you have any recommendations Dee please PM me!!!! OH has decreed at the beginning of the year that we are to them somewhere once a yr! I refuse to call it a holiday though! It will be THEIR holiday!!!
  11. Good timing with this topic Dee! OH has been badgering me to take the kids on a holiday! I love luxurious holidays, 5 star hotels, cocktail hour, drinks by the pool, candlelit dinners etc. And these places don’t let you bring dogs! Most of the places I know of are like a room/house with no housekeeping and you have to cook your own meals etc. This doesn’t feel like a holiday to me! So I never bring the dogs on holidays! I would if I could find somewhere that would cater to me as well as allow me to bring them along. We are researching to take them somewhere but it will be a holiday for “them” not so much for me!
  12. Bitty is! OH taught her! If he says "Give Daddy a kiss" she'll lick his cheek. If she does something bad or steps on him etc he'll say "Apologise Beedoon" and she'll lick his hand. Cutest thing is when he says "Who does a Bitty love best" and she'll jump all over him and lick his entire face!
  13. ;) Cute when they're not wrestling under your feet Bub!!! Will send Miss E. for a visit when she is at her height of mischief You don’t scare me with that threat TSD! She’d fit right into the family! OH wants a HOUSEFUL of Bitties one day! Even though he called her a terrorist last week!
  14. Oh how adorable!!!! I want to find a pink Tutu for Bitty!!!!
  15. So so so cute!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Such adorable doggies! I Emily!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Yes!!!!! I often find my two sitting around in the EXACT same positions and with the same expressions. It’s really quite intriguing as even the slight curve in their paw or the way their ears lie are identical. I think its so cute! When Bitty was a pup they looked like “Big Me” and “Mini Me”
  17. He probably doesn't like it too much and is being precious so is only eating it when there are other "incentives"! Bubby is like this when he has to eat frozen fish! Gives me various "looks" and sits at the back door until I come out to sit with him while he chows it down.
  18. I adore Rotties! I always wonder if I am strong willed enough for one though but I simply love them so much!!!! They would definitely be a breed I would have if I ever thought I was suitable/good for them!
  19. Bitty was getting hiccups 2-3 times a week when she was under a yr old C. She seems to have grown out of it but it was disconcerting for a while.
  20. Completely agree with this. My dogs are both indoor dogs but I REALLY try and have an engaging time with them inside, and actually DO stuff, cuz its just so easy to pat them with your foot while you spend all night watching TV! Mind you, I have been known to lie on the couch and use my foot to play tug with Bitty because I am feeling lazy!
  21. Ohh I am of two minds about this. When I am down and out or in a temper, Bitty just has no clue! She carries on like it’s the Best. Thing. Ever. This will usually make me giggle and I’ll maul her muzzle and get on with life. Bubby is very sympathetic and comforting when I am in a temper or sad! It’s lovely to have moral support but then I find that I indulge in my moods when with Bubby simply because he’ll sympathise!
  22. ohh Great thread!!!!! I would say Bitty has the perfect temperament for me in a dog. Sunshine and rainbows. Has an off switch when needed but has so much energy and is perpetually excited and happy about life and everything in it. Cheeky and a bit naughty but not in a shitty/bad way! Just the right amount to cheek to make me giggle. Affectionate, loves cuddles and snuggles but then perfectly calm when left on her own. Constantly uses her powers for good rather than evil. She's so fun, bright and seemingly brainless but underneath that cheerful exterior is a very intelligent dog who solves problems quickly, picks things up easily and is very inventive! Bubby is extremely loyal and mellow. Very stable and rarely does anything naughty. Everything can change in the world but Bubby probably wouldn’t. He is my rock. I’d have another dog like Bubby in a heartbeat but Bitty is the whole package. I don’t like wilful or narky dogs. I wouldn’t like a dog that was stubborn and wanted to know “why” whenever I ask them to do something. I would not enjoy being “challenged”! I’d just end up resenting the dog and thinking “What a nasty little thing you are”.
  23. In Bitty, I think humping is her way of throwing a tantrum. She never humps humans, other dogs or objects but we have bought her a plush bunny that is as big as her. Whenever she asks for something and we say no, or if Bubby refuses to play with her she will run up to the bunny, hump it and then move on. Happens every time she is refused play, dessert, after dinner snack, pigs ear etc! She will go and abuse the bunny before resuming normal programming.
  24. Gayle, I have been lamenting to anyone who would listen about why Bitty loves OH best when I spent so much time raising her as a baby. Everyone told me that my problem is that she is a girl and I should get a boy next time (Bubby does love me best!). But with what you say about Benson, perhaps it is just a dog thing?
