  1. This is exactly what I was thinking Juice , imagine if she had got to it after you had left Baifra and she died on her own over night. That would of been alot harder to handle. Hugs to you and your mum and dad cause it is a very sad thing to happen.
  2. I'm not entered but 2P's is LOL I went two years ago and the sporting store across the road sold out of Gumboots It was dreadful, so much mud and it was like that all weekend. Oh but I'm sure it will be dry this time for you guys
  3. I'm a mean mum but my dogs have always slept outside, always. Came in through the day for close time, but outside to sleep. Then Bryd's died and Jazzy was on her own and went crazy being on her own, nearly tearing the screen door off its hinges and throwing her self at the glass door, the first night , so I set up her crate in the loungeroom and thought well just for tonight , Well its 2 months now and she is an inside sleeper now. She does sleep in her crate though, I have Mary here now , and she also is inside in the c-crate with her. When Mary was away at a show one weekend, I thought MMM will I just leave Jazzy out in the house but realised that she wouldnt want to go back into the crate at night again if I did No its the crate for her at night but she puts herself to bed when she is tired anyway so I'm happy with that. Worse part is if I have to stay away over night now, I feel really mean if she is left outside. Mind you I still have a bed outside for her if she has to stay out and she dosnt kick up a stink if she is out later than she thinks she should be anyway.LOL
  4. :hitself: ;) :cheer: I was beginning to think it was just me Some of those conditions are really far fetched from the OP. Just curious BB does your breeder know that your boy is used at stud?? Are you registered with the Vic KC or what ever its called?? If you are registered well thats a big step But if not, I would of thought that you would of had to of been, for your dog to be used by a Reg breeder or were they not registered??
  5. Correct..............now tells us Shyla hasn't got a good temperament Carlibud???. Shelle has explained exactly what GSD's do and they often don't realise their strength over small dogs until it's too late and as Shelle has told us first hand, they can and do often play too rough ;) I know I shouldnt bite , but where did I say a GSD playing rough hasnt a good temp????????, What I do say is that not all GSD's will / have to, have a high prey drive and because they havnt, dosnt mean they are weak nerved dogs for goodness sake Your post is implying that all GSdDs will/should hunt a cavvy down and attack it if it runs, due to having, that high prey drive. You say you have a highly trained dog and yet your dog wouldnt be able to be trusted with small dogs by the sounds of it, you say he has to be watched constantly so he dosnt hurt the puppy , or am I reading that whole post wrong ???? ;) Well I hope that they wouldnt all have temps like that, I wouldnt have one in my yard if I thought they did. Sorry but I dont agree with this comment at all, as seen in photos, alot of GSd's play and live with small dogs and dont hurt them, If Shyla was to have constant small dogs to play, she might learn that it isnt the thing to do and learn to play gentle, yes they do the bop on the head pat when they want them to play or stop but its not an attack thing . But it also dosnt mean she has a bad temp cause she plays rough alot of difference BB Why do all GSD's have to have a high prey drive to have a TRUE GSD temp?????, which is your opinion. You say that any dog that dosnt have that high prey drive is going to be a fear biter , well sorry but I think you are wrong again. Of course GSD Puppies have needle sharp teeth, but so do all puppies, so even if they got another cavvy puppy it would also bite an older one and be put in its place more than likely. So using that excuse is a bit silly Sorry Sunny but constant talk like this really gets to me. The GSD if in the right hands is a wonderful smart, intelligent breed, and can live with any breed of dog. In the wrong hands well , that also goes for alot of breeds. Anyway hopefully the OP does look into the right puppy to suit their family, and it should be the same no matter what breed they get, but hopefully they will get the best breed in the world
  6. AAWW great pic's Pix Love the one of Holly and Finta having a snuggle that is so cute. Desmo looks like he is saying if only she didnt take up half the bed LOL
  7. Love that photo Showdog I also have a lovely soft placid but confident GSd that loves playing with puppies too I wish aI could get some clear shots of Jazz with the Mary the pointer i have here kissing each other it can go on for 10 mins sometimes I just love to see different breeds together its lovely
  8. Thats not aggression Chewy thats true GSD traits remember
  9. Oh thats so sad Danni, hugs to his family and a special one to Tyson from Jazzy Was so hoping that it wouldnt come to this. My cousin 's dog had her front leg amputated after being hit by a car and she can run faster than the other two so he will be Ok its just a bit harder with the front one I think. Poor boy hope the infections settle soon
  10. I agree with Poodlefan totally. Never mind about these soft placid GSD's you hear about..........they are not good examples of the breed and lack the traits of a true GSD. If you purchase a GSD bred to type, they are high in prey drive, they chase, bite as puppies and play hard and a little dog unable to cope with the GSD physical size can cop a hiding, not from aggression, but just pure rough play. The more the little dog runs away generally in fear of the GSD's size, the harder the GSD will chase and capture. It is managable and is not impossible to create harmony, but hard work with constant supervision of their interactions. I have the opposite at present with high drive 3 year old GSD and a 12 week old GSD puppy and the 3 year old is a trained dog, but you have to watch them with such a massive size difference as the small dog/puppy can be easily hurt or frightened Geez I would not like to meet your GSD. ;) I agree BB Black Bronson ;) we dont need that debate AGAIN Sunny Flower my GSd Jazzy is 12 month old and plays with the Cavvie next door and he also played with both of my girls together, when Bryds was here, and she was only 18 months so still a pup as well. If he is out the front with his mum or dad he is straight over to play, he loves them. Of course pups are pups and can get rough but they adjust to size of their mates. Bryd's best mate was my sisters Whippet who gave her what for if she got too rough I could let any dog or pup play with my girl, and thats exactly how it should be IMO, because thats a good temperament.
  11. I wanted to get one of these looking like I'm glad I didnt LOL Sorry no help am I !!
  12. No point in me keeping all of the bawling to myself Mita. Smart lady! It worked. Half my crying is knowing how happy ChiChi's pic will make her mum. She saved the little mite at the cost of serious injuries. And here's Chi Chi tucked up safe & warm & comfy in a home away from home. 'Scuse me. Fogging up again. yep I hear you.Seems Ive been quite successful in spreading the bawling around but last night when I heard Magnus was gone for a little while I thought perhaps I was too bawling and that I might never stop. No need to worry Steve you certainly shared it around :D , I just couldnt stop crying either when I heard about Magnus and the others being found, it took so much hope away didnt it Hugs to you and to all who are in the firing line. Hope that Janes family are holding up ok Poor poor things , must be devastating for them knowing how much she is going to go through
  13. AAWW Poor boy, sending more healing vibes for him as well, Gee it must of been pretty horrific if he may lose a leg As you say, you at least hope that your dogs are safe in their own yard
  14.      I think at least while we had hope that Magnus was alive hiding somewhere, it seemed a little easier to bear, poor Jane Just too, too sad , no words can express the sadness I have in my heart for her. RIP Poor little ones
  15. It does seem rather ironical. I have to admit as I lit the candle , I too thought Oh my goodness its something that I dont normally do but it just seemed right for her tonight Get well Jed we are all thinking of you and sending healing vibes for you and your babies
  16. I just couldnt believe it when I logged on hugs to you Jed , I havnt been able to stop the tears since I found out Rip all the lost babies
  17. I also found that a choker chain was the only answer for my girl who wouldnt lift her head either, a quick little " Tug check" as you are about to move in works wonders, even now I still give a little tug just to remind her that she has it on and she dosnt even try now to put her head down :D Good luck cause it is very frustrating isnt it :p
  18. Go Priah , congrats Aziah. She really is such a sweet girl isnt she, and Go Carson nearly there mate :D
  19. But the Canine Association DIDN"T notify the club......NOT THE CLUB'S FAULT. Oh Ok , dont bite my head off :D What I was trying to say was, that's what I thought the original post was actually about or maybe I'm on the wrong track anyway, as per normal :p I meant it more as a comment, not so much as it's "THAT CLUB'S" fault, sorry I forgot that someone said 20 pages ago, the post has gone so far off topic , ;) that it was the Canine Councils fault, for not notifying the club, Anyway I'm of to do the poll
  20. This should be renamed Tasmania vs Mainland not GSD National :p IMO the rules should either be, all of the states get no CC's if a National on or within the state only. I mean some people just cant make it to a national for whatever reason. But I have no qualms in Nation Wide either Flame suit on :D But thats just my opinion anyway as after all it is only 1 weekend a year that you cant show, but agree a bit painful if its a local show and its on the same weekend. But to me the whole point is that the club should of had it in the journal. ;) Have to admit I wouldnt even think twice entering a show on the national dates (if I wasnt going to them that is,) so I would be a bit pi##ed if I got to a show and found that NO CC's were awarded but have to admit I had no idea it was 1000k's . Just shows how much I take note ;)

  22. Is this a German Shepherd or an Alsation?????? No she wont take your hand off, I know,I know, everyone was attacked by a German Shepherd when they were a kid but she wont bite you:laugh: Can you believe I actually got asked at least 5 times at Sydney Royal what breed she was !!!!!!!!!! Have to admit I thought everyone knew what a GSD was
  23. Kaffy the GSD Nationals are on this weekend in Melb , may be able to find someone with a spare spot to take him back
  24. My first that really stands out but sure would of been others LOL, was at the Sydney Royal when the grass was damp under the trees and went A over T and broke my thumb trying to stop myself, yep pretty embarrassing when there were like 30,000 people watching Then last year took a GSd boy in for a friend who had pulled a muscle earlier in the day, he won Junior in group so had him in for Generals and the judge asked me to move him out, so of course gave him his lead and when we got back to the judge he very abrubtly said to me "I said WALK him out and back!" I was horrified and thought well how to stuff that up but the judge handed the Junior in show to Nelson and said "Even though you didnt listen to what I said " I was mortified but elated at the same time
