Ceilidh I applaud your actions. Find the whole thing disgusting and you know I tend to say what I think so I would have probably done very similar or god forbid worse. Nevertheless if it was one of my dogs that he was doing this too I would want to know. I may not be able to rescue my baby girl but I would like to think that we would be in a position to apply pressur through other avenues such as other breeders or exhibitors in that country. I agree with the idea of developing an interest in that group and video evidence is irrefutable.

This little baby is now on the mend apparently but I have not heard fromthe owner what the outccome was as to the cause. Only that she is now almost 100 % and could be home tomorrow. I have advised a light diet of rice, steamed chicken etc and probiotics until she is eating well and then slowly introduce heavier meals. She has lost a great deal of weight but will recover.
-
This baby is back at the vets and on a drip. She will not look at food, if you try to offer anything she cringes and was rushed back on Tuesday night because she was throwing up again. The vet has no idea as to the cause, they have done xrays and changed ab's and now have her on a drip to rehydrate her. If I was allowed I would be in there with my rescue remedy kit but cant see the vet allowing that and technically she's not mine. But today she did respond to her owner and although she hasnt shown a marked improvement, she hasnt detoriated.

Thanks Kavik, I would be using either steamed chicken at first but then a little fresh mince mixed in the rice. But I am still inclined to use the honey and yoghurt

One of my puppy buyers contacted me and said that thier puppy (now 17 wks) must have eaten somehting but they are not sure what. The pup vomited several times and then evetually there was a trace of blood in it. she rushed the pup to the vet who kept her overnight and sent her home the next day. She tells me the vet believes the pup must have a tummy infection and has given antibiotics. This is the second course because the pup had a grass seed surgically removed and was on antibiotics for aweek with that and only had her elizabethan collar etc removed Monday and then got sick Monday night. She tells me the vet suggested a diet of boil beef and that the pup is off her meals. I have suggested that she get some Manuka Honey and some Yakult and put that on her meals moring and night. Although I know some of you believe in waiting till the abs are finished before the probiotics are introduced. And personally I would be feeding a light diet but not with boiled beef. Maybe some fine mince and a coddled egg, a bit of boiled rice mixed in. I just thought I would run the entire idea passed everyone for some extra input. So any comments would really be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Glad you are ok Sandy. THere are some great photos doing the rounds of Wagga, Adelong, The Rock etc all flooded. And really you were an isolated little crop of towns along the Olympic Way with Culcairn floods closing one end and Uranquinty etc closing the other. I know some others up Tumba way were in strife also but seem to have been spared. Glad eveyone is OK and see you all at Junee.

No such thing as a silver Labrador... Never has been and I would like to think there never will be.... but then.... Only in America!!
-
Have spoken to family and friends in Wagga and they tell me that Wagga is now almost isolated. The Rock is totally blocked from both ends because the roads are closed at Henty and Uranquinty and Silverlight. Anyone heard from Ceilidh??

I have hisotricallly entered dogs in two lots of names mine and parterners for one breed, and mine and sons for another breed. Alsays sent to me in one SAE, paid for with one cheque. Never had any issues from secretaries or any quiries. Except when one very kind cataloguer contacted us because our cheque had been included with someone else's entries - thank you for checking.... Just lately for a couple of our local shows, including our own club, I have written on back of envelope that I will collect numbers on the day...

Mindy is not silly, if anything I assume she is highly intelligent from all your posts. Do you really believe she would do something that hurts?? I wouldnt be restricting her quite so much. Let her have some free time at home and maybe a short solo light play and then she will be happy to comply. Remember Labs need to be busy.

Morning Tea For The Judge & Steward/s
Joan of Arc replied to Rottsup's topic in General Dog Discussion
We have had to go without stewards because in country shows most stewards are also exhibitors. You have that conflict of interest where even if they steward in Ring 1 on Sat they are likely to be exhibiting under that same judge the next day - cant happen. We usually supply water and cool drinks for our stewards and judges, a small morning tea and always a sit down midday meal. -

Does Anyones Elses Puppy Rise When The Sun Does?
Joan of Arc replied to aussielover's topic in Puppy Chat
If she is going to be staying with you for the next 12 months, and you think you might go through this process again then I would suggest it would be worth you investing in your own larger crate. They are not the expensive when you consider the peace they can offer you. Then cover it with a sheet or blanket when she goes to bed last thing and she'll sleep later. Of course if she can learn to sleep outside, now that the weather is warming up perhaps a nice trampoline bed and a kong or morning bone would be ok. -
Still no news!! How very distressing for Kylie, she musst be absolutely beside herself with worry. And poor Harry, he must be so frightened and confused. In do hope he is found soon. Someone has suggested that if we all keep spreading the word the chances of him being found is greater - lets hope so and keep spreading the news.

Thanks for that you sluth dog ,see the brain must be drainning LOL. HHmmmm!! Perhaps you mean sleuth Unless I am becoming a new designer breed. ;)
