Oh man you've just made me realise how much of CGs I DON'T do I'm thinking of summer break projects, maybe CG will be one of them I really want to work on Trixie's weavers and try and get her to work out her footwork and speed up, whe just trots through the poles currently, was thinking rear end awareness is probably lacking too which isn't helping.

Treats and medications will be seized by Customs (according to a lady here that works at AQIS)

That was me megan! Oh man this is going to hurt my bank account

Yeah he thinks I'm too stupid to notice I think What can you do but laugh really

Yeah I agree Jess, the marketing machine puts me off SG a bit also - a lot of emails trying to push products and courses and webinars. I've done CG but never really applied it to anything useful

Those lappy babies are SO FREAKING CUTE AND FLUFFY!

I found this a bit funny the other day - Kyzer tried to 'cheat' to get his food quicker, instead of actually tugging and growling (he's quite noisy) he was putting his mouth near the toy (rubbing his face on it) and not actually biting, but making the loudest noises ever, and more high pitched than usual, I think he was trying to trick me into thinking he was doing it I was cracking up, crazy dog!

Well done on the progress Kavik Kyzer and I are still in a different room to the food bowl but we're getting closer, slowly
-

Barking - But Only When I Am Inside
pie replied to ChristineX's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Your mum would rather stay up all night with a spray bottle than let them sleep inside - crazy Sorry I have no suggestions but hope it gets sorted soon Glad Duke is handling it well -
Yep, he sure does
-
Yep my boy dog rips open paw pads and carries on chasing his ball, don't even realise he's done it until later! Oh unless he doesn't want to run agility because he is tired then he puts on a pretty mean limp over nothing  yet walks perfectly back to the car :p
-
If anyone in the Canning Vale-ish area needs a left let me know and you can come with RS and I :D RosieFT are you coming? I can pick you up too on the way
-
Sorry Labrat, I don't know either. Boxagirl, what a lovely video, that Boxer made an amazing recovery, I never thought it would have been possible. What's the best avenue for a dog who was refusing weavers in agility and developed a limp the next day - acupuncture or bowen? I'm thinking bowen but not sure as I have't used either before. It's not for my dogs, but I was thinking of getting mine checked too by the bowen lady anyway, since they jump around like maniacs.

Yes I agree with her too, I believe some dogs are born not quite right, I think my dog is one of these - at home he can swing from happy and loving to agitated and angry in seconds, and then swing back again, all with no apparent trigger. I often joke that he has the canine version of bipolar but I suspect he is just not wired quite right. Like Megan I have accepted the fact he will never be 'happy go lucky' but he has more good moments than bad. In hindsight there were signs of this and of a very nervous nature when we went to pick him up at 8 weeks, I was just too blinded by puppy love to see them at the time, but he is still our special little man even if he is completely mental!

Awww how sad, I remember the thread about Banshee when YG got her, and the threads about all the vet visits she had, I loved her dark colouring So sorry for your loss YG, RIP Banshee.

I also think you should never feel pressured to do something you're not comfortable with - she's your dog. Instructors all tend to do things slightly differently, don't be afraid to ask why they want you to do something if it doesn't seem right to you. Some instructors handle this better than others but most I have found are okay with me doing something slightly different to what they say. I know it's hard to do with your first dog when you are learning so much, and I fell into that trap with Kyzer of just going through the motions in class, with a different instructor each term doing things differently and confusing me and the dog. Consistency is important. Watch some DVDs to get some good exercises for foundation and things and also try to watch at trials - you'll see the end result and see how people give commands and it will give you an idea of what to aim for.
