  1. I'm not getting a bigger dog, I like them compact thanks Anyway I already had to stop her jumping up to present things Okay will keep that in mind
  2. But is it okay if I reach down for the dumbbell? I'll have no other option Just as long as I don't have to lean forward?
  3. I have a question :D How close does a dog have to be in a front (talking small dog here) when I get her to sit very close she looks up at me and her whole body follows, so she's in a begging position instead When she is in a sit close in front it looks very uncomfortable for her like there is no where to put her (rather long) head Also is there some way to teach straighter sits? Because her legs are so long for her body length she sits with her front legs on an angle but I'm not sure she'll be able to sit any straighter comfortably
  4. Come on Mindy you can do it! Sending healing vibes Aussielover and my thoughts are with you.
  5. Duh of course - I keep forgetting he is a show doggy
  6. Jeepers isn't he only about 12 weeks old? It took trixie not too long to work it out - I captured it with a clicker then moved it to heel position and pit a hand signal on it.
  7. no do not look to us for SFE advice trixie can stand but the exam part may never eventuate
  8. I had seen it from a distance a few weeks ago but assumed it was a WL ESS
  9. I guess so - but I feel like it's hard enough to get bars dropped down for the littler dogs at times, let alone equipment moved. We only have one 200 dog in the senior class at the bigger agility club training I go to.
  10. Follow your gut instinct I say. Yay training Umm I went to Shark bay the weekend before last and I went to Northam this past weekend - but have been quiet because I haven't really had anything to contribute
  11. Yep most of my siblings have dogs, no kids yet
  12. Have you tried a long line? Or an E-Collar LOLOL I have been babysitting my 'nephew' and have decided three dogs are too many for me, I only have two hands for patting and feel bad leaving one out
  13. Oh Lappie puppies! How cute - are they mega fluff balls? Poor little Sugar Plum - hope she's all okay - I second the idea of filming her.
  14. Interesting - I have a 300 and 400 dog and I don't find current spacing to be a problem - I think 3m is a bit too close - if anything Trixie certainly likes it more spread out 5m+ rather than closer. I can see the reasoning but the same course can provide different challenges for different heights without being changed - for example - a jump that may be easily seen for a 500/600 dog may be more of an off course jump for a littlie? Also we train on courses set for all heights anyway? Wouldn't it be more confusing to the dog to be training on bigger courses and then trialling on smaller ones, particularly for the 200 dogs - 2m is nothing! I think making allowances in SCTs for smaller legs is good though. Just thinking out loud
  15. So cute!!!!!!! All the best with her RnH :-D Love the colouring on her ears. And how cute is Gibbs.
  16. Ooooh how exciting! Good luck - and get someone to video it :p
  17. Kyzer was always dog walk or A frame - now it's tunnels - but trixie is a table suck - I didn't know it existed before her
  18. I'll email you the excel spreadsheet entry form, ososwift
  19. Look up Buddy the Pap on Crack on Youtube, a crazy fast little agility dog
  20. I have met 6. Two of them are the most excruciatingly irritating yappers ever produced - but I actually think this is the fault of the owner, the first one was yappy then the second one came along and is worse. They lunge at the end of their lead and yap and yap - one was tethered alongside an agility ring the other week while the owner ran the other It was terrorising every passing dog Two others are great andvery lovable (one is now RIP but he was a lovely old man) and I don't recall them being yappy. The old boy used to run around and chase the tennis ball with the big dogs down at the park. One other is trialling in agility here and he is brilliant - a very clever boy who isn't yappy that I can recall. I definitely agree with PF's post. They are very very smart little dogs who appreciate a job to do. I don't recall any of them being aggressive.
  21. Yep I do time outs too, sort of - if one dog isn't playing the game then I put them away and I get the other one out. Have never had to do this to Trixie that I can remember, but I did give her a time out or two when she was a puppy and tried on running away to play with other dogs. The other night I was doing some training at home and Kyzer was going so crazy offering me every behaviour under the sun instead of listening to me that I had to put him away for a bit for my own sanity! He was a bit less mental when he came back out! On a related note if I am in a class I have a crate so I can put the dog in there while walking courses / talking to instructor / modifying course etc and the dog usually comes out keen to work. Thanks for the viedos, great stuff!! Some familiar faces from the Nationals
  22. Awww how adorable!! Gibbs is such a little chubber, hehehehe! Too cute
