Oh bless you DDD and what a lucky dog indeed! Have you tried the Conni Pads if newspaper is too messy? I use them under the cat litter tray and just bought the huge ones for the whelping box.

I do reply to all enquiries but I'm ridiculously well organised and track my emails really well. I love a good system. However I will say it can be hard work keeping up with all the enquiries and many prospective buyers never respond to my reply email so I can understand how it goes pear shaped. Especially if you aren't planning on a litter soon and have other issues happening in your life. I'm also on 3 dog related committees, run trials, train, compete, work long hours in a demanding job and have had an awful lot of stress the last 18 months with multiple injuries. It's only because I'm obsessed with covering things off that I get through it all!

I'd love to but it's just not practical. Ginny is 2 and her training is so behind because I've been injured since Oct 2015. I haven't gone full time at work for the same reason although my boss wants me to ASAP. I'd really like to put a bitch out on breeders terms but the two people who want bitches are interstate. Both of them have travelled to meet me of course. I'll see what the gender balance is too. Two Melbourne couples would prefer a boy but would take a bitch so I can always chat to them when decision time comes. So I haven't committed the 5th puppy (provided numbers are right) but I have a few people interested - however I haven't met them as yet and I would consider running the pick girl on and waiting for the right home. It gets very complicated!!!

My car just died too - literally is not leaving my driveway except on a tow truck and my mechanic says don't bother So I'm madly car shopping!!! I was always planning to but it's just not great timing

Yes I'm actually sleeping in the lounge room now so Em doesn't try to get on our bed. A single camp mat gets a bit squishy with all of them!!!

It has been SO cold up here in the hills! This is everyone snuggling on my lap yesterday....Ginny on the left, Em on the right with Dizzy and Lilly grabbing space the middle. Zig had prime position in front of the fire @Scottsmum Mama Bear was over heating so lay on the slate floor to cool down...look at that spread!

I have a whelping box in my living room with a large pen around it that is hung with covers - that's basically so my over protective Mama doesn't try to kill everyone! Normally I have a very peaceful household. I use F10 for visitors (hand wash) and I make up a spray bottle for shoes and clothes. Nonetheless I ask for visitor shoes to be left outside. In the house I just use a simple Earth disinfectant when cleaning floors. I'm conscious about where I take my other dogs but I don't get too obsessed. If my dogs - including the Mama - don't get out for some intense exercise there's too much pent up energy. And that's not good for anyone.

I don't use a heat lamp. Em gets soooo hot! She is much likely to get in the box if it's cool.

Awesome! I'm going to buy some crazy toys this time around. I start mine in a cat tunnel then we progress to the cheap dog one - I'll have to get it out and see what condition it's in. I've now got 2 proper agility tunnels as well so that will be fun for them to explore - I can shorten them right up and keep them stable with tunnel bags.

Haha thanks - I was giving my puppy people an update and they were all just loving it. I'm not a strictly Puppy Culture person but I do a heck of a lot of handling and enrichment! I might get the DVD to get some more ideas. Thanks! It was such a relief to do that first ultrasound Hahahaha yes a cracking name. And he is SUCH a darling. Trust me I'm not even beginning to exaggerate! I popped the pair of them in the back of my car to take them to the vet for the AI and Monty spent the whole trip just staring at Em and BARKING I told him to shut the hell up because if it was annoying me it was sure as heck annoying her!!! Oh and then the vet, nurse and me (all women) trying to collect Monty who kept getting stage fright The funniest bit was when I finally got the natural mating, the owner's (adorable) primary school kids wanted to know what Monty was up to. My response? "Ask your Mum!"

My dear Em is due on the 11th September....mated to a lovely dog called Monty....bless his heart it was his first time so I ended up doing 3 x prog tests and 3 x 4 hour round trips to make it happen...the first time Em was disinterested in his teenage efforts at romance, the second time I took him to a repro vet for a fresh AI and the third time - well, let's just say he still couldn't figure out which end was which but by the time I left he thought he was God's Gift to Springer Spaniels. Em was just pleased he finally got it together Here's my girl with just over 2 weeks to go...we have a count of 5 at the 4 week ultrasound. But it's situation normal at the House of Thornfield...

No not at all! You should update your puppy pics in here. I will start another thread when I get some photos uploaded.

There will be a few DOL pups to swoon over Em is due the 11th if my calculations are correct!
