  2. Great posts, Dogdude. The day I see a dog being shocked for slow sits, is the day I stop trialling.
  3. I agree too! And your little mite is one of the best small dog heelers that I have seen! Your too kind! I'll get back into it one of these days!
  4. So long as a solid hind-end awareness is taught- they should be able to heel just like bigger dogs, IMO.
  5. Yep, and a gigantic sigh of relief! Specialist disagreed with putting her on steroids, to which I am glad. She(and I) would prefer to wait and see if any more of these episodes occur. And, thanks from Faith and I :D
  6. No Tumour  She's now home and sleeping off her Anesthetic. Its a pain not knowing what caused them- but a damn sight more positive outlook, than a brain tumour.
  7. Thankyou Jed. I am somewhat optimistic, but also, realistic. $1500 is alot just to know either way But she is more than worth it.
  8. Yep, that crossed my mind, also. But then I thought of the 'build up over time', then 'bang', thing Thanks for your thoughts. And thanks also for the suggestion, Polomum. Will do some reading.
  9. Ok, back from the vet. All bloodwork was completely normal. Vet is inclined to think a brain tumour, to which he wants to prescribed Cortisone. I am opting to get an MRI done tomorrow for my piece of mind and to hopefully getting a definative answer on what I am dealing with.
  10. Thanks for the input. It gives me hope that there may be a reason less sinister behind this. It scares the crap out of me!! I was up with every little noise last night
  11. Hi, Thanks for the reply. She off to the vet this morning. And Air Freshener was duly removed when I thought of the possibility last night
  12. Hi, My 12 and a half yr old dog has had a couple of concerning 'episodes'. This dog is very bright, energetic and seemingly very healthy for her age. However, on Saturday, she was playing with her ball and all of a sudden fell onto her side, stiffened slightly and was somewhat wide and glassy eyed( but otherwise aware of her surroundings, I think). Now tonight, she was sound asleep on the couch, and suddenly threw herself back, and did as above. Obviously given her age, I am aware that there may be something sinister starting all of this, to which I will get her checked out tomorrow. However, this has got me thinking about whether there may be something she has been newly exposed to ect The only thing I could come up with is, 2 weeks ago, I purchased one of those automatic air freshener things, that spray scent every 10mins or whatever. It has me wondering?? I have always reared my dogs naturally, and avoided pumping chemicals and crap into their bodies, so I am wondering about this air freshener stuff. Perhaps wishful thinking, though? Any thoughts appreciated.
  13. Pug. C.D.X. Clicker trained, mostly. 60 secs then I felt sorry for her so I stopped lol At about 40 secs she started slighty whining in anticipation.
  14. Glory, Another suggestion, which helped me with Mia- is to have someone other than yourself, to go back periodically to re-enforce the position. I had someone go back and feed. Starting gradual, with ISS. Ie: you take 2 or 3 steps and the other person rewards her holding her position, then build on that until you then go out of sight. Rani and Mia both don't like the seperation element of Out of Sights- and I found this method took 'the heat' off me.
  15. Well done Glory and gorgeous little Bindi I know how hard you work with your little ones- that is great news! Now it's Rani's turn Jodie and Mia
  16. My little Pug gained her CDX Title yesterday- sooooo proud of her efforts
  17. Wow- these are all so great I would love to get one made of my 3 Amigo's, if possible Faith Jackson Mia Thanks!
  18. Many thanks for the explanation
  19. Yep- this is more realistic of her colouring. Can I ask what you did? ETA: Thankyou
  20. Thanks for replying. No- the pic hasn't been printed. This was taken today under total cloud(on auto)- I don't know...she just seems to photgraph very 'blinding' Then again-pehaps I am expecting too much from the camera.
  21. Thanks heaps. So it's nothing I am doing wrong, per say..I just need to learn how to use it!
  22. Thanks- Boxer looks normal colouring.
