  1. Thanks for the offer LilBailey, I'll keep you in mind. Thanks for trying Erny and thanks for helping to spread the word Jess! We did some tracking training on the weekend (I've managed to find a handler for that discpline!) and it was lovely to watch her work!
  2. The nationals are at the KCC park in August (I think). Good luck at the NADAC comp. And thanks for the offer, I'll keep you in mind
  3. Bump for Wang's trial! Gee didn't realise until yesterday how fast it's approaching, where's the year going
  4. Go for it rhapsodical78 - we're 2hrs north of Melbourne and then the distance from Melbourne to Welshpool - we'll get to see how the black dog really goes!
  5. For those who know my Kira, talking on course is a big "no no". It just makes her even more excited. With my young dog Denny I'm not naming obstacles as we run a course, unless I think he's oing to refuse it. I'm finding we have less mistakes if I can keep my yap closed unless absolutly necessary. My comands are: over (for all jumps & broad) tyre tunnel (for both types) see saw up (a-frame) walk (dog walk) table weave Directional: Out Go Heel or side (depending on which side of me I want them) turn
  6. Good morning Dolers! As some of you may know, I am pregnant and by the time the Nationals come round I'll be 8mths - not good timing from me and I'll be bit big methinks I would dearly love to see my Kira compete at the Nationals, in Jumping, only but unfortunately cannot handle her myself. I was wondering if anybody would be interested in handling her for me? I am willing to bring her to down for some training with the person who would handler her. Kira's (Kizza GD SPD CD JD) a black border collie x g/retriever and runs in the 500 class. She's fairly speedy and has a bit of spunk and get up for those who may not know her. I have watched some video's of our runs yesterday and must admit I hang my head in shame at my very late cue and arm flapping, poor dog does the courses in spite of me, LOL! Hoping that someone puts their hand up! If you're interested can you please pm or email me. Thanks. Cheers Lisa
  7. Congratulations Ness! Also big congrats to Leopuppy and ALL HER PASSES - talk about getting greedy Just kidding, I hope that when we come back to the ring later this year that my kids can be half as competitive!
  8. Hi Gamby! The weekend went well! By the Sunday arvo I was ready for nanna naps, crazy Kiz is starting to take it out of me! I must be special, I have trouble with the easier stuff whereas the harder stuff isn't so hard - I'm weird! Will you be at TCV Broadford trial in July?
  9. And if you train at Croydon you get to see a very handsome Aussie boy! Seriously, the dogs that I've seen from that club are great - wonderful ambassadors for the club!
  10. If you ever want to experience a monster feel free to take Kira for a spin I am still tired from the weekend - I think the little one is punishing me for all the bouncing over two day!
  11. Thanks LP. I'm really glad to hear that people enjoyed themselves :p I was so worried that something awful would ruin the weekend. Kiz says "thanks for the compliment"! When I learn to be more confident with her and get my cues better then "look out world" Hornet asks if he could go to your house for a holiday because his mum just smacked his bottom for pulling down all of the dog ribbons
  12. Good luck to all those going! It's too bloody far for us and with the cost of fuel the weekend would end up costing over $300 - $400
  13. it might be a little hard to run 8 months pregnant  mad dogs there not the easiest to run are they but fun never the less????? Sometime kirra is just WAY too fast for me lol never a dull moment that is for sure!!!! If I did run I'm sure the crowd would be amused! Now that I have my other dogs to run I much prefer running the carzy one! Maybe it's the name :D
  14. I may go if I can find someone to run my black girl, Kira. I'll be about 8mths pregnant by then so won't be able to do it myself  I'll enter anyway and hopefully will find someone crazy enough to run the mad black devil!
  15. To those participating - I have just emailed out directions and times for the clinic. Let me know if you did not get this email. Cheers Lisa
  16. Can't wait to see all the Doler's at the clinic and meet those who I don't already know!
  17. Just a small brag. We had our club graduation trial yesterday and I had my kids in the agility competition. It's two rounds of the same course. I think SCT would have been about 31secs - Denny did well with one round of 1 flt 28sec and round two 0 flts 29secs! Kira was her feral self in round one, 9flts 32 secs but in the second round she flew with a time of 16sec!!!! I also did an open obedience with Kiz and she only lost a combined total of 5points for all exercises except for the heeling. Now all I have to do is re-train her heeling and she'll be on fire!
  18. I also find that when I audit a clinic my diagrams of the exercises are so much more understandable when I get home
  19. I go every week to our obedience club but rarely ever train because I normally have to instruct We've just lost two instructors so there's just two regulars and 5 trainees, so hopefully things will improve on the training front soon! We've just started an Instructors class which is great because that way the instructors don't miss out on training. Most of our instructors are triallers so this class is great cause it's small! Most people at our club are pet people but we are starting to get more who are jumping into the trial ring!
  20. More instructors, you lucky ducky I'm it for our club in agility, one lady is great (been there for years) and helps out, very knowledgeable obedience instructor. I can only tell you about new obedience instructors at our club: 1: We have a fairly relaxed training program 2: Newbies shadow experienced instructors until that instructor thinks that they are ready to go it alone. The newbie also assists the instructor they're shadowing by "floating" in the class and helping individuals they think need a bix extra. 3: How to communicate effectively, how to demonstrate well. They need to be aware of rules (duh). I also think they need to be aware of different types of dogs and their style of agility; i.e. instructor who runs slow dogs needs to also know how to run and train fast dogs, training high drive vs low drive, etc!
  21. That's why you should turn Ranger into a super dupa agility dog, not much sitting in agility
  22. There are usually people within the tracking clubs or who participate in tracking that make harnesses. All my dogs are individually measured and they have their own ones. Benefit is that they fit perfectly and they're not a rip off like Black Dog products (good products but too bloody expensive)!
