these guys are the cutest! lucky you to look after them 'til they go to happy homes my fav's the first little one :D
-
nice shots! I love the colour of the water with the pelican shot, and nice close-up of the red panda (I think) ... cool giraffe pattern too :D
-
oh that's no good! I hate it when that happens, and it happens all too often. I have a little bit of a fantastical idea with the paint and I suspect that will just be a dismal failure as well, not gonna stop me from trying though hehehe terra - I've just been writing ideas down, but I really need to stop and take time to try some of them out 'cause, as above, they most likely won't look like I expect them to
-
okay cool! I think I prefer the day time than night time for taking pics good luck! I hope it works out how you picture it!
-
thanks it's interesting 'cause, I've not thought of bokeh as being a night-time shot, but obviously I watched the video and it seems expected to be at night the stars show up much clearer at night, not sure I could get a well defined star during the day
-
hmm I wonder if you did bokeh during the day rather than night as it's explained you'd get over-looked? neither of these are particularly good, but they give you the idea this is pretty much all I've done ... I have ideas but nothing more
-
I did a quick bit of research and found out what's in the box this is NOT going to be easy
-
a lot of awesome pics here so far!!! Great shot, I think the crop works well, gives the birds somewhere to go I also like your 3 perspectives of the road, my fav being the middle one, from the ground
-
I must admit it seems a little unclear, I ended up doing it twice because I obviously missed the small print at the top of the page that says "Your registration has been submitted" or whatever and I was expecting a confirmation email to say that they had received my registration, but they obviously aren't doing that
-
the box comes in the post not email it asks for an address on the registration page

August Photography Challenge - Everyone Welcome!
Clicking Mad replied to Ashanali's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
wow! I'm really enjoying these last few entries posted I would like to thank Ashanali too for this month's challenge, even if I don't post as much as I take, I've really had fun playing with this theme. It's great just to have an excuse to practise something you wouldn't necessarily think about -
hey, I'm just looking through the site - registered a little earlier there are 5 briefs right! and there are 5 judges - the judges have titles: "practically black"; "portraiture"; "bokeh"; "close up"; and "action" do you think these are the 5 briefs or what? bit dumb of them if they were trying to keep it secret whaddya reckon? oh and ruthless it did make me feel better that you too hadn't received an early bird email either, but I realised why I didn't and that was because I don't think I ticked the box "do you want to be notified" last year - made sure I did this time though
-
hey, I didn't get any email ;) this competition is what made me totally lose myself in photography for the past year
-
okay not my best shot and barely any editing ... but I love her expression ;)
-
Did you know they have African Wild Dogs there now ... I love African Wild Dogs and they are more accessible (photography-wise) than at Melb Zoo ... I caught the hippo talk today too, very cool, the 1 year old "baby" has the same name as my labrador "Lotus" ... she's big but still cute and a totally messy eater I really enjoyed my visit there today ;)
-
beautiful, especially love that last one - priceless expression! I went to Werribee Open Range Zoo today, going through my photos atm, hmmm ... after my visit here they're not looking so good anymore ;)

that 2nd shot tlc is a killer! love it :D I've taken quite a few in the past few months that would fit this challenge too, it's something I seem to do to experiment a little ... "lets try another shot into the sun" I say to my dogs ... but I haven't really known what I was doing just shooting and adjusting and shooting some more until my card was full or the dogs up and walked away anyway nothing new from me today eta: just going back over the past few days here, I'm loving the colours from everyone ;) -

out of my dogs Texas came up best backlit ... either that or by the time I got around to Texas I'd realised that the lens is best if it's in the shade (in Texas's case - his shadow) 'cause otherwise the shot gets totally washed out - that right Ash? or just that the sun/light source is probably best kept from being centered? If I had a tree (not in shot) shading the lens but still pointing directly into the sun would this result in a washed out shot? Chester appears quite washed out even after a little editing? -

Loving this so far!!! Particularly your sunburnt country Lea and the last shot of your gsd WildatHeart! and Ashanali - like your post-production on WaH's 2nd to last gsd shot JusticeScales - I've always loved that first tree shot!! and the 3rd house shot with the rainbow streaks is nice as well Wolfsong - gorgeous cemetery shots Bindi-Boo - love the wheat/grass seed ... cool Church Spire and dandelion! Kirislin - love those flying birds, really cool! and the other one? white woolly weeds? piri - love those sunsets in fiji newfsie - lovely moon and lake shots!! the colours in that first shot, the moon & reflection and all those dead trees - love it! RoxynAxle - I like the shots in the Japanese garden and your silhouettes -
see this is the best shower shot I got and it needed some serious editing to get even the slightest bit of light anyway I'm over that ... here's my last hurrah ... I was very happy with these thanks Ash for the challenge and thanks all to those who contributed
-
ash! I like the quality of your painted markers terranik ... really enjoy your experimentation I failed in my mission to get the shower water - my new thoughts are that it's the height at which I'm trying to do it, the water is too "splayed out" ... I don't really know but I just can't seem to get the water lit at all ... but tonight I spent an hour playing around with other things and should have something to show, may get a chance tomorrow, at the latest, Saturday night ... by which stage I'll probably get taken over by the next month's challenge :D
