Liver & Garlic cake - my favourite! -
Yes, they were both beautiful boys - one of my fondest memories of "Wingsy" is him lying on the floor with Poodle puppies, one of whom would have been Niki, climbing all over him - he was growling (not very convincingly) but his tail was wagging!

Happy Birthday - WHERE ARE THE PHOTOS??? ;) -
They probably just shoot an email to anyone listed as "pet services" or the like. When I had the grooming shop we often got puppy farmers wanting to put up notices in our window. My partner used to put them up & I used to take them down & tear them to shreds Maybe a little like the one I saw advertised once - a SHIATSU (SWF that also gives you a massage)

to your dogs - it's amazing how many dogs have built-in a$$hole detectors & will act accordingly! Even a Standard Poodle growling deep in his chest can be a but scary - Niki certainly saw off a few Jehovah's Witnesses in his day

Good news

This is my gorgeous boy "Wings" (Coolhand Bronze Wings) - Gone to the bridge in '96. He was King of Victoria Gardens in Prahran and friend to cats everywhere Hre he is at the Uluru lookout with Lennon & Sascha about 6 months before he died.

CW - I am so sorry to hear that you have come to a dead end re Charlie's condition. I think you are doing the right thing by giving him as normal a life as possible - as long as he is not in pain, let him live like a normal dog! He's such a great little guy - your pictures of him a while ago giving the camera filthy looks just totally cracked me up. I think getting another dog as a companion for him is a great idea - I won't suggest any breeds, as the only 2 I've ever had (GSP and Standard Poodle) would be too big & bouncy for him, but I'm sure someone else will come up with the ideal dog. PS - what IS it with men & "macho" dogs?

My gorgeous GSP "Coolhand Bronze Wings" - he went to the bridge in 1996, aged 14, but I still miss him & love him - friend to cats everywhere! And my gorgeous "Niki Bear" (with Sophie, Dylan's mother, when she was about 4 months old). Niki went to the bridge in 2006, aged 11 - he was my Heart dog.

Councillor's "animal Killers" Claims Puts Pet Desexing I

Couldn't agree more. The first step to no pets and the one's which will suffer (die) are the dogs. So, you support the breeding of crossbreeds for "pets" - what's wrong with purebreds? -

What in the hell has this got to do with BSL ? Nothing Exactly - but some people NEVER miss an opportunity to get on their hobby-horse! -
Obedience And Training - Males Vs Females
poodlemum replied to LisaB85's topic in General Dog Discussion
Niki was very smart & learned quickly - when I was instructing obedience he was a great "demo dog". No good in the ring, though - one week he would "forget" how to sit & the next he would "forget" how to drop, so I knew he was just yanking my chain ETA - I wish I had done Obedience or Agility with my GSP, but I didn't even know such things existed and didn't realise the significance of the CDX's and UD's in his pedigree! -
Obedience And Training - Males Vs Females

All I can say is, I trialled a bitch to CD several years ago, whereas my "heart dog", Niki was HOPELESS in the Obedience Ring - he knew all the exercises and could do them perfectly in class but always had to stuff something up in the Ring He was very, very affectionate & loving, though! -
My old bitch, Sascha, developed a lot of these lumps when she got older - at first I had them checked out but then learned to recognise fatty lumps - I felt the same about having them removed, she was 16 and I didn't think the risk was worth it. No flaming here!

I'm just amazed that you managed to GET Ziwipeak. I contacted the distributor (from memory, through an ad on here) a couple of years ago enquiring about puppy food and got no reply, so I put the pups on to ordinary, cheap old Supercoat (they thrived on it!).

hehe - slightly OT - with Poodles it's 3 weeks! After this, they were moved to the laundry hehe - slightly OT - with Poodles it's 3 weeks! After this, they were moved to the laundry :D Here are mine (there is usually a dog bed (bottom of a PP40 crate) for them to sleep in but I was sitting there lol so took it out) With SOME puppies (espcially Dylan) even the laundry is not "escape-proof"

Of all but 2 of the litters I have had in the past, I had both parents. I usually let prospective buyers see & play with the puppies first and then let them meet Mum & Dad (and, when I had Niki, an older brother or Uncle ). Poodles are very gregarious dogs and I liked to see how prospective buyers interacted with the adults. If they weren't interest in the adults I took it as a warning sign that they only wanted a cute puppy, and might get disenchanted when the puppy grew up! Of the 3 brood bitches I have had over the years, non could give a hoot about someone handling their pups , once they were weaned, but ALL of them wanted (demanded) attention from visitors!

That's a Poodle thing, too Genralizations, whether about dogs or people, are foolish. I once had a trainer tell me that my dog leaning on me was a sign of dominance - er, no - ALL Poodles do it, in my experience!
-
Congratulations! I hope (am sure) you 2 will be very happy - he sounds absolutely lovely

See your chef & raise you a Shiatsu Masseur ;)

If you tell us he's a fantastic cook, as well I'll start to worry that you've stolen MY wonderful man (isn't it great when you find a really good one ). Hold onto him & treat him well.

Time to try another breed perhaps?? :D :D Pfft - maybe the person selling them just can't capture the awesomeness that is sibes Or Poodles :p (our breeds are obviously TOO special)
