  2. Great to see so many brags - well done everyone
  3. Thank you so much Rach - it looks great!
  4. Could I bother someone for an updated signature please - mine is a little outdated now the pup has grown up so much!!! Not sure which of these to use so will leave for you to pick if that's ok!! Zuma: River:
  5. Does this mean Sue tends to start stays with puppies when they're still pretty young?
  6. Congratulations Natsu Chan, Glorybea Wow what a great weekend Xena98 - well done to you and the girls
  7. Well done Leopuppy, Ness, Luke W and Xena98 for your various achievements Nah won't be entering the States.
  8. Yep on the spot jackpots here too - and if he has a 100% pass rate I've been known to throw in an extra one for good measure, not that he really knows the difference but makes me feel better Can't believe I'm about to admit this but actually made Riv cheesecake for one of his jackpots this week Oh ok we ate most of it but made an effort to keep some aside for him!! I've definitely been well trained to keep the jackpots varied and always try to make them something completely different to what I use in training so they seem a little bit more "special". We also get something he likes that we share with him for his dinner as well - and after that the poor boy is put on rations for the rest of the week to make up for all the treats
  9. Well done Smisch We had a games trial this morning and River came home with his novice gamblers title which is our first games title. We also passed novice snooker and novice pairs too so very happy with my little one
  10. Well done Pele & Bully - hope she enjoyed another chicken for her efforts Are you planning on doing open with her as well? Way to go Xena98 - Inka is on a role with those open passes now
  11. Congratulations Mercedes, Newfsie and Agility Dogs on your passes
  12. I would agree with this. The first time River mucked up his sit stay he was taken out of the ring and asked to do one afterwards which he had no problem at all with. The second time he dropped in the sit stay he was taken out of the ring and that was it. He was seriously miffed at not being given a second chance and the next trial (and all others aftewards) he has managed to hold his sit stay with no problems at all so I think Ptolomy's theory could have something in it for sure. Mind you I still regularly get sucked into giving him second and even third chances way too often
  13. My vote would be get rid of the stays altogether
  14. Great stuff with Inka and Xena yesterday with their open passes Xena98 - hopefully Inka will continue being able to hold her sit stays for you now!
  15. Well done Pele and Bully, hope pass number 3 is just around the corner for you Hehe I've been dobbed in but yes little River had a great day yesterday with 2 passes from 2 runs one in JDX and the other in ADX :D
  16. Congratulations again on Ness' ADM title - I'm sure the ADO pass won't be too far off now
  17. Are you unconsciously staring at your dog during stays? I also had a sit stay problem in our first 2 trials and like you would only happen at trials. Someone suggested to me to pick something to count during stays - could be people, trees, cars going past - pretty much anything that is behind your dog that you can pick out and as an added benefit it gives you something to do to take your mind off getting nervous about it as well Might just have been a coincidence but once I started doing that he never had a problem with the stays after that!!
  18. I mainly like having something to work towards in terms of training but most of all it's a great way to spend the day with my best mates and feels more productive than just having them run around the park or beach -although that is definitely good fun too!
  19. I don't come in here very often but putting off starting work!!! I'm still trialling with my first dog (River) and we've gone through CCD and CD so far and now trying to get our first CDX pass. We've had quite a few hiccups along the way but I'm learning lots from and with him and am so lucky he's a very forgiving boy for putting up with some pretty awful handling to start off with and me changing my signals on him a few times I've also been lucky enough to have lots of help from some pretty talented trainers (thank you to all of you ) which has helped us to sort out those problems. I haven't yet become disheartened (probably because most of our problems have been caused by me!!!!) and I think that every problem that comes up helps to teach me something new about what I'm doing (or not doing!) and don't think there's anything better than seeing even the tiniest of improvements in the end result. I have no idea how far we'll get together but as long as we're both enjoying ourselves we'll keep going. Even if we don't get any more titles I'm still enjoying training with him and seeing what he can do and really can't thank him enough for all that he's taught me so far and I'm sure he's nowhere near finished with me yet :D
  20. HUGE congratulations Ptolomy & Scoota, you 2 really are an amazing team and can't wait to hear what Scoota has in store for you next time
  21. Zuma has quite a few teeth coming through at the moment and seems to enjoy being able to crunch on bones, though I did notice on Friday night that he was whining while he was eating a roo bone (though it didn't stop him eating at all!!!) but will probably give him something a bit softer this week just in case it was making him a bit uncomfortable.
  22. Just on Stormie's comment with the wish bone, I've actually been advised by the place I get my chicken frames from to make sure the wishbone is removed before feeding to dogs - apparently dogs choking on that particular part of the frame isn't uncommon due to their size and shape so please make sure you check they're removed before feeding just to be on the safe side. And to answer the original question, I've not had a dog choke on anything but have had a piece of bone stuck across the roof of his mouth which I managed to get out on my own without too much hassle.
  23. Congratulations again to both of you - can't wait to see how she does in UD
  24. Thank you so much for the signature Rach - I love it
