Where can I find this information for qld please? Daughter has a Dane x and council visited her to tell her they are investigating her pitbull wandering the street attacking people.....no prizes that the neighbor complained as she has done for the previous 3 tenants dogs. Mind oh she has 3 dogs herself that how the,selves at the fence when my grandies are outside playing but that's a whole other story

I flew my BC with QANTAS from Sydney to Alice Springs and then from Darwin to Sydney in July last year, I went as well. you do have to book the dog through Australian Air Express giving them the flight number etc. Crate hire was $50 each flight and $110 each flight so $160 per flight. They were really good, especially the Alice springs people at Australian Air Express

I was told I couldn't have 3 of my choices as they were 'similar' because there are 2 kennels in aust that also end in the same last 4 letters........what about all the ones starting with beau and border etc?

Have contacted them and the reply was 'they would have a good reason to decline' they being National Register.

No I did both and still googling everything under the sun. It seems to be very inconsistent though decline some but approve others that are very similar

Unfortunately for me dogs are Scottish origin and just about everything is taken. I did a lot of research and have even made names up oh well will see what they say this time. I really don't think they can use looks similar or sounds similar etc when they have approved a lot of similar prefixes.

Oh I use Glyneryk everyday, totally understandable......not lol. No I received nothing at all other than declined in the email, didn't even mention the names I had submitted. I live in NSW.

So in Vic they tell you why it wasn't approved? I've been knocked back on mine and no reason given other than 'ANKC would have their reasons' Now I know catteries and kennels have nothing in common here, however, the cattery prefix I've had for 16 years has been declined amongst others and I've heard nothing on my appeal that was sent off last year. I combined my dogs names, my name and my dogs names etc I'm at a loss. I don't want to send names willy nilly for fear I'll get something I hate so I really think about the names. I've also googled, searched FCI and Sways list and none of the ones I submitted show up anywhere.

Except for my 3 piece that I bought when I was ambitious when losing weight and I paid 150 for that one and have never worn it

Between 50-100 for me but then my OH goes OS all the time so he can bring mine back for me

Thanks for the replies everyone I appreciate it. DogsNSW when I rang said they didnt make the decision. I didnt put 10 choices on my application either I only put 3 and all of them were cattery prefixes I had/have (I wanted 3 different ones as I had different breeds at the time) I will put in the appeal letter and see what comes of it anyway, will be interesting to see the reply. I was unable to find the prefix on Sways list so just googled it and it took quite a few pages of hunting till I found something even remotely similar. Oh and also searched under the FCI. Thanks again everyone

No apparently thats not the reason though still none given to me other than ANKC would have a good reason not to allow it :-)

Theres heaps around most go to shows around here.. Im in Bundy... The website tells u the distributors Thanks for that. Daughter doesnt go to shows as she owns a cross bred. I was unable to get the website to work :-) computer was being a PITA

I am just wondering who is it, at the end of the day, that makes the decision on whether or not a prefix is approved? Is it the Australian council or one from OS? I have been declined my prefix (and I say mine only because I want to use the same one that I have had for the last 16 years for my cattery) no reason given. I have been told that I can submit a letter of appeal if I choose, which I will be doing. There are 3 similar OS (none pronounced the same) but none with the same spelling Any ideas? Thanks

As I live in Sydney I am not sure of the locations of distributors in Qld. My daughter lives inland from Gympie, are there any located nearby at all please?
