  1. Thats wonderful news Marns. I Can't wait to see pics of the cutie pie.
  2. Far out Marns, that is simply not good enough. You better kick up a big stink once you've got her safely in your arms. It doesn't give you much faith in these companies, do they realise they are dealing with living and breathing creatures. I'm so sorry for your son, what a huge disappointment for him. I'm keeping everything crossed that Lola arrives safely tonight, keep us posted.
  3. Thanks Beckie, it looks like we'll be able to start about a week after getting her home, I can't wait. I've never done any form of dog obedience before, so I'm eager to learn.
  4. We're meeting Georgia again this Sunday. This is the first time we'll meet her knowing she's going to be ours, so exciting. I came home from shopping with another bag of goodies for her, including a pink kong, a rope type toy and a dumbell.
  5. Cool, thats what I was hoping. I have emailed the club but had no response yet. A friend took her dog there and said it was really good.
  6. Awwwe congrats blue fairy, Zoe is just gorgeous. I love her little curly tail.
  7. We're adopting a sheltie puppy when we get back from holidays in a couple of weeks. She'll be 16 weeks old when she arrives, is she old enough to start dog obedience. I've checked the website of the club I want to join but its not mentioned anywhere. This club doesn't offer puppy preschool type set ups, just obedience, agility and that sort of thing.
  8. We definitely don't mind looking at the goregeous Lola, what a sweetie pie, so cute. I love the ruby cavs. How long till she comes home? Georgia's name is the one the breeder had given her. I'm not totally sold on it, but my hubby and daughter love it. My son doesn't like it because a girl at kinder is named Georgia and in Baileys words she's mean! LOL He's just happy we're getting a puppy really. When we talk about her I just call her puppy, rather than by her name. I wanted to call her Bella, but so far I'm out numbered. Time will tell.
  9. awwwe Costa is beautiful, what breed is he again? He seems to love his kong wubba. It sounds like he's settling in nicely.
  10. Woo Hoo BF not long now. ;) ;) I checked my K-mart today they didn't have the cheap kongs. Since the kids are on holidays we might go to a different store next week.
  11. I have to agree with Fiona C, I've seen it happen at the local shops with a german shepherd puppy. He would have been 3-4 months old, the collar broke and he took off. Luckily I was able to stop him, because there were cars driving less than 5 metres from where he was. Pretty scary for the 15yo girl who was walking him. I've been talking to the sheltie people about collars because having such a fluffy breed, you can't just put a standard collar on them. I'm learning there are many more collars availalbe than I ever expected.
  12. Nicola, if you do the transfer before 4pm, it will show up the next day, otherwise it will take two days. I'm sure it will appear tomorrow. Awww I can't wait to hear about Oreo's adventures.
  13. Hey Nicola, Your little Oreo is absolutely gorgeous. I know his name is not confirmed but after seeing him, the name suits him so well. Well, its official, my breeder thinks I'm nuts. I've been emailing her about things I need to get for Georgia, she's very gently reminded me that all pups need is a bed, a couple of toys and lots of love. I've gotton a little over-excited, so need to back off slightly. She's ok and taking it all in good humour but how embarassing.
  14. I just picked up a few soft doggy toys from Big W. They had a range of toys discounted to $4, so check it out if you need anymore.
  15. Flycow, I would recommend giving the RSPCA a few days to get out there, then start calling them daily, while you keep your records of barking for the council. I recently did the same thing with regards to a sick cat living in my street the RSPCA did come out and enforce vet treatment. Persistance is the key. So just keep on their case, they'll soon get sick of you ringing and take action. At least in my situation they did.
  16. Nicola, I'm not sure what our pup will be fed yet. The breeder is going to supply some food for the first few days and we'll take it from there. I'd recommend keeping on the same food, so he doesn't get an upset tummy. Any changes need to be made gradually.
  17. Nicola, we already had holidays booked for just after Easter, so the breeder is looking after her until we get back, which is April 17. We're seeing her again on Easter Sunday and can't wait. Today I've been cleaning up the backyard and working on puppy proofing everything. Oh your BC sounds beautiful, do you have a photo? I do love the name Oreo.
  18. How exciting Nicola, what colour BC are you getting. I'm a sucker for the classic B&W. Oh and do you have a name picked out? We still have a few more weeks to wait for our sheltie pup Georgia.
  19. My local Coles has them for $15, they didn't have a pink one otherwise I would have picked one up. The prices on ebay once you add postage are more than that.
  20. Thats awesome news Bluefairy. I know the feeling of rushing around to get things organised, but I still have a couple of weeks, including easter. Today I'm getting stuck into the backyard to make sure there is nothing dangerous or poisonous plants etc. You've got a real mad rush though, have fun. Oh and thanks for showing me your stash. I had a couple of soft toys that were to go to the op shop, but I thought the pup might like them. Just looking at them now they have plastic eyes and noses, so I better get rid of them and buy puppy ones. I want LOTS of pink stuff for my girl too. ETA - can't spell
  21. I've been thinking about puppy toys. What toys have you guys bought that have been really successful. I was thinking of some soft toys for inside, plus a few kongs and of course some outside toys like balls and frisbees.
  22. We're off to Hong Kong in a couple of weeks, then when we get home, we get to pick up our sheltie puppy. So of course that means I get to do puppy shopping overseas. Is there anything to avoid. Obviously food related stuff I'm not interested in. I really want to get some kongs, but I don't know if they sell the real thing there. Has anyone bought pet stuff over there, I'm told they have a massive selection of pet stuff. Edited title - it sounded like I wanted to buy a pup overseas. :D
  23. Oh Poppy Terra is absolutely divine. Is she a BC? So cute, I love her colouring.
