  1. So very sorry for your loss Run free Spike, no more pain
  2. What a beautiful thing you are doing ~Harminee~, your good karma bank must be almost full!!
  3. There's a stall at our local markets who sell dried dog treats and I looked at the wizzers and asked if they were what I thought they were, the lady laughed and said yep. Apparently dogs love them but I just couldn't picture my sweet little cav girl with one in her mouth
  4. JAL I'm so sorry to read that Chanel has SM. I pray her symptoms will stay mild and she'll continue to live a happy life with you. I don't know a lot about this disease but what I've read online sends shivers down my spine, I used to worry everytime my girl scratched. Good Luck to you and Chanel .
  5. Geez I'd hate to meet the person who thought up the "wanking a dog to make it loyal" idea What were they thinking????
  6. I cried as I read your moving tribute to your beautiful boy, but I couldn't help but smile as I scrolled down to see the photo of him sitting on the other dogs head. He looks like a cheeky boy. RIP Kaden :D
  7. So sorry for your loss GW. Rip Emma - Run Free
  8. they are sooo cute with all thier rolls personally I think they are the cutest puppies ever but I am a bit biased, I've always been biased towards cavs and don't think I'll ever convert, but I can just admire your baby from a distance.....geeez the bulldog babies are cute!

  11. Name: Milo Age: 8 weeks Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Colour: Tri-coloured Loves: Toy Sylvester cat, running around like a mad thing, being a little MONSTER!!!
  12. A friend advised me to try the cold tea on my cavaliers eyes. Apparently her vet told her to do it for her horses eyes as the tea has antibacterial properties.. If your neighbours dog does have conjunctivitis I don't know how effective the tea would be but I don't think it could hurt. I tried the tea and there was slight improvement but I did still go to the vet as it didn't clear completely and I didn't want to risk damage to her eyes.
  13. I have been wiping out the ears of my 8 week old cavalier pup and there is a dark brown "dirt" coming out. One ear does have a smell, not overly strong but a smell none the less. I use aristopet ear cleaner on my other cav to clean her ears and was wondering whether I would be able to use this on such a young pup to clean his ears or if it could be ear mites and should just take him straight to the vet? What do others think?
  14. Oh I hope she doesn't have to be pts - she is just beautiful!!!!!
  15. Keep up with the drives in the car. Make the car a fun exciting thing. Even though we live at the beach, I sometimes drive a couple of kms down the road to a great walkway on the beach and Holly loves going walking at a different place than our "usual" route. She has been coming for drives since she was a small pup and now loves the car as it means she might be going somewhere exciting. She even jumps into the car when I'm cleaning it! Also my hubby will sometimes pull up in the driveway and get Holly to sit on his lap just to drive into the garage - she thinks this is great fun!!!!
  16. I used to feed my cavalier chicken necks and wings when she was younger but at about five months the little guts started to swallow them whole then bring them back up (still whole), so I stopped the necks and now I give her the ends off lamb shanks. Some supermarkets sell the shanks with a cut through the bone about 8cms from the bottom of the shank. You can easily cut the bottom bit off and Holly LOVES these. You can see the bone in her mouth. She has never swallowed any of these bones whole and I just take the bone and through it away once she's had enough.
  17. so very sorry for your loss I really hope you can get some help for your depression. Diva would not want you to be sad because she's not here anymore - I'm sure she loved you and you obviously adored her - remember and cherish the special time you spent with her.
  18. I use Dermcare Natural Shampoo (reccommended by my vet). It's a gentle cleanser for normal - sensitive skin and smells a bit like coconut! I find it works well then I use Aloveen Oatmeal Conditioner it makes the coat feel supersoft, smells good too!!
