So in other words, you want a well bred dog puppy of breeding potential but you don't want to pay the price tag... everyone wants something for nothing
-
Thanks yes I have spoken with the takas kennel and I cant afford how much they ask for a pup with breading papers its like 1500 more than a pup with pet papers. i can be a good owner go to the shows for the dog and join the clubs and all that but they ask to much. You get what you pay for, a lot of time and effort goes into importing, whelping & raising a litter... If you are only after a pet puppy, purchase a pet puppy?

Thanks PC - what a bugger you're at work

Has anyone got numbers back yet, and if so was there a breed/group breakdown sheet included? I haven't received numbers back yet...

Breeder Wanting Puppy Back For Future Litters
Aziah replied to westozmike's topic in General Dog Discussion
obviously not savvy to possibilities in the dog world and judging something poorly that you have no knowledge of. However as a breeder, I'd not place a bitch out on breeding terms to a pet home... -
All puppies are chipped into my name when I have them done, when puppy owners come to collect their pup, they sign the transfer of owner form for the microchip and I send it off (and I generally send each from that letter off at once) to council... This way I know it's done and then they'll receive the required paperwork to register puppy with their local council.

It's the calm before the storm resting up for the big effort that's going to happen tonight!

My vet actually checks with clients that any dogs taken in for vaccination haven't been unwell for the week leading up to vaccination...

Just try to keep everything dark and quiet and she'll start in her own time, waiting is the hardest part... We're all here to support you, any questions, ask away we won't laugh at you!

Generally even mild contractions are readable as that (ie. a contraction), I'm sure she's fine but it's good you're on the ball and checking it out

...and I think we can assume that half or more of those 'fails' are due to poor timing rather than actual reproduction issues. The high success rate of AI is most likely due to with correct timing via progesterone testing (which, in most cases, comes part and parcel with AI).

Do BT's usually whelp without fuss? I do wonder about the couple fo contractions and now nothing though?
-
Yep another one who agrees with crate training and indoor sleeping.

Definitely cancel and reschedule in a week to two weeks time depending on how long his stomach bug lingers. Never vaccinate a dog that isn't completely well...
-
Could be - I've got fingers crossed that everything is happening as it should...

How are you and Ziva doing this morning?
-
I expect to read about the babies tomorrow sometime :D ETA: lots of luck and easy whelping vibes coming your way...
-
I think she needs to be bred and then perhaps she'll regulate... I agree with Steve - what are you waiting for, but I understand your position. Perhaps the breeder whelping her is a good idea, I do fear it could be a now or never scenario.
-
doubt it was your falk TA! See you all tomorrow
-
I'd expect he'd be nearly fully weaned by 6 weeks of age - not just getting dry here and there? It's important you know what's being fed so that you continue that when you bring him home and slowly change him to your own diet (which should be as good or better quality than his current diet)

Well no but yes...I had to drop the car in this morning (emergency) to get a new clutch fitted (no car until tomorrow now). I had packed 3 gazebos to set up on my way home this afternoon but of course had to remove them from my 4WD when I dropped it off to be fixed. So it was pure luck that my work colleague had followed me to the car place because he's got a 4WD too, otherwise there's no way they'd have fit into a normal size car. So obviously I couldn't take them back to work (because person droppnig me home today has a normal size car) Thought I'd call into HB and I did, thought I'd do the right thing and explain the extenuating circumstances but NO - no not their problem and I would not be allowed to set-up. I had to leave my 3 gazebos there and go back this afternoon (simply because it was 2 hours before noon) those gazebos better still be where I left them when I return after work!

Long Working Hours - Can You Still Have A Dog?
Aziah replied to jacqui835's topic in General Dog Discussion
Do they? I assume you meant in your opinion? I think you'll find that's not the case and varies widely between breed & breeder... Even if a puppy requires 3 meals a day it's easy to work around working hours. Feed just before heading out to work, as soon as you get home from work and before you go to bed. As I said I wouldn't do it. The op said they are often working over 10 hrs a day and I'm assuming some travel time is added onto the 10 hours. Thats a pretty big day when it is a regular occurance - not just every now and then. Perhaps I should have been more pedantic and said IMO pups need 3 feeds a day - though I believe this is pretty common. Assuming the pup feeds at 7am when they leave home and again somewhere between 5pm-9pm that is still a pretty big gap between feeds. No different to feeding at 7am 12 noon 6 pm - puppy is still going without all through the night -
Your puppy is on 'mums milk' and you'll be getting it in 2 weeks time?! How old will the puppy be when you get it? I would hope not until at least 8 weeks of age and if that's the case and it's 6 weeks now and only feeding off the dam - scary! ETA: I feed raw and my babies are raised on a combination of raw and Royal Canin
